Once I completed that, I wanted to maintain my cardio program, and joined the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Center. I really like this place, for several reasons. I can actually get free memberships at several local gyms through my insurance, but I'd rather pay to go here. It's a more mature crowd, with most people either doing some sort of rehab or physical fitness. It's not a social club or hang out, everyone is serious about what they're doing. I don't have much experience in gyms, but from what I see, they have plenty of cardio machines (treadmills, crossfits, arm ergos, upright and reclining bikes) as well as weight stations with both plate weights and resistance. There are free weights as well and all kinds of support stuff like mats, stretch bands, etc. The place is spotless, with constant cleaning going on, and everyone seems to take the time to wipe their stations down after use. I don't use these areas, but they have beautiful locker rooms, showers, basketball courts and a pool that is half indoor/half outdoor. The staff is friendly and helpful, and available for personal training if you desire. They have tons of classes from spin to balance. Downstairs, there is an advanced weight training room. I go three times a week and always look forward to it. I highly recommend you check them out.

I have been attending the pool for aqua therapy for quite sometime, which I know is paid for at a hefty price by my insurance company. I walked in and grabbed a towel. A woman from the front desk walked up to me, told me the towels were for members only, grabbed the towel out of my hands and dumped it into the used towel bin. I dripped dry!! If this is the case, it definitely could have been more graciously handled!

This gym is fine, honestly not sure what everyone's complaining about. I was at Gold's from day…read moreone, and since becoming EōS, it's stayed pretty much the same. Machines need repair sometimes, it happens, that's gym life. I'm there four days a week and never saw a cable machine down for six months, and there are several to pick from anyway. Yeah, the pec machine seat needing to be propped up for months is very annoying, but there is another pec machine, and several other ways to work pec muscles, so not sure what the deal is. So mention it to management and move on. Dirtier now? I see vacuuming and mopping going on throughout the day. If you want it spotless, wipe down the machines yourself after you use them (which most people don't), that's on you too, not just staff. Paper towels have always been there when I needed them, never seen them run out. Does it happen from time to time? Probably, but they have three areas on the second floor to get paper towels and spray bottles, and they're not all out at the same time. Can't speak to the showers, but the men's locker room sink area gets the same so-so attention it always did under Gold's. Nothing's changed there, so not sure why that's suddenly a new thing EoS brought in. It does get busy and sometimes you wait for a machine, welcome to literally every gym in every city. That's not a flaw, that's just what a popular gym looks like. But aside from a broken machine or two (which they have other machines you can use anyway), the real problem stopping people from working out is people camping out on a machine, scrolling on their phone for five to ten minutes while others wait. You're there to work out. Work out, then move on.

I've been coming to this Planet Fitness location since it opened, and overall I like the gym. It's…read moreclean, has the equipment I need, and most staff interactions have been positive. However, I've now had two uncomfortable interactions with a front desk employee named Deborah that left me feeling frustrated, unwelcome, and honestly unsafe. The first interaction happened while I was on the treadmill. Deborah approached me and told me that "someone complained" because I didn't have headphones on while watching something on my phone. I completely understand the common courtesy of using headphones in the gym, which is why I purposely chose a treadmill with empty machines on both sides of me, kept the volume extremely low, and even had captions on. The gym music, conversations, treadmills, and equipment were all significantly louder than my phone. When I explained this, Deborah herself responded, "Oh I know, I can't even hear it and I'm standing right here." That immediately confused me, because if she couldn't hear it standing next to me, I didn't understand why it was being treated like a complaint issue. When I asked who complained, she said she didn't know. The only people near me were a few women talking loudly together, so the situation felt strange and unnecessary. What bothered me most was not the reminder itself, I understand policies and courtesy rules exist. What bothered me was the approach. It felt like she blamed an "anonymous member complaint" instead of simply asking me directly to put headphones on. I later told Deborah that I didn't appreciate being told a story that didn't make sense when she could have just communicated honestly and respectfully. The second interaction happened when my app wasn't working and I asked to check in using my phone number. As I was walking away, Deborah stopped me and repeatedly pushed me to take a photo for the account. I told her multiple times that I was not comfortable doing that, but she continued pushing and giving reasons that were not accurate. I explained that I've been coming here for months without issue and that my home gym already has my photo on file. She incorrectly insisted this location was my home gym, even after my app showed otherwise. Again, the issue is not that she wants to do her job thoroughly. The issue is the way she communicates and disregards boundaries after being told "no." Not everything needs to become confrontational or overexplained. There's a difference between being helpful and making members feel uncomfortable. These interactions have created a negative feeling every time I come in and see her working. I hope management addresses the importance of respectful communication and listening to member concerns and boundaries. If management would like to contact me directly, Deborah knows exactly who I am.

They're knowledgeable, keep things safe, and still push you to get the most out of the workout. Jessica is super kind, encouraging, and actually remembers people, which you don't see everywhere. She creates a really comfortable, welcoming environment and explains things in a way that makes you feel confident. Robert's classes are always waitlisted and it makes sense. He challenges you without overdoing it and keeps workouts creative, especially with the reformer. Sarah is great too, very positive energy, especially in the mornings. I just wish I could take more of her classes. Walter is also really knowledgeable and just very solid overall. Shoutout to the front desk and management team. Gail, the general manager, is amazing and has been so supportive of my fitness journey. She really makes people feel seen and comfortable. Roberto, the assistant manager, always checks in and remembers details, which makes the gym feel more personal. Dustin is also super helpful anytime I've needed anything. Mark, who I did a trial personal training session with, was really nice and encouraging and made it a great first experience. The smoothie spot inside is also really good, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it's just a really solid gym with people who care. Makes it easy to keep showing up.

I am writing this review to formally express a serious concern regarding the Valencia LA Fitness…read morelocation. On Monday, I attended a kickboxing class in the studio and the room was extremely hot due to a lack of air conditioning. The thermostat showed a temperature of 90 degrees, creating unsafe and completely intolerable conditions. It was so uncomfortable that I genuinely felt like I might faint, and several other members also looked visibly affected. It was clear the environment was not safe for a high-intensity workout. Kickboxing is already a demanding physical activity, and without proper cooling or ventilation, it becomes a real health risk. This goes beyond discomfort and enters the territory of heat exhaustion and dehydration. As a fitness facility, LA Fitness has a responsibility to ensure workout spaces are safe, and this location failed to meet that standard. Because the class could not be safely completed, I am requesting that this issue be properly addressed and corrected to ensure the studio's HVAC system is fully inspected, repaired, and maintained so that safe temperatures are consistently upheld during all classes. I am also requesting written confirmation that the issue has been resolved and that appropriate corrective action has been taken. I expect a written response confirming the steps taken to fix this issue, along with documentation of the corrective action, no later than 7 business days from the date of this message. If I do not receive a timely response within that timeframe, I will escalate this matter further. At the time of the class, there was no immediate acknowledgment or resolution offered. Members should not be expected to risk their health or lose value due to preventable facility issues. I strongly urge management to take this seriously, ensure proper temperature control for all future classes, and provide written confirmation that corrective action has been completed. Safety should always come first, especially in group fitness environments. I hope this issue is resolved promptly and appropriately so that no one else has to experience unsafe conditions like this again.

The whole facility is spotless, well maintained, and fully stocked, which makes every visit smooth and enjoyable. I already love the HotWorx infrared workout system and the FX training area, but this location really stands out because the team truly cares about their members, the equipment, and the overall experience. I come here about six days a week at different times, and I always see familiar faces. That alone shows how much people enjoy this place. I even switched from Equinox because HotWorx Valencia has everything I need: convenient hours, a great workout system, supportive staff, and a motivating environment. Their regular fitness challenges keep things fun and help you stay committed. In just three months, I've already lost 15 pounds thanks to the sauna workouts and the training station. Katie is amazing. She's dedicated, thoughtful, and always looking for ways to make the experience even better. You can feel how much she cares about the members and the space. HotWorx Valencia has become my fitness home. It's positive, safe, motivating, and just an awesome place to work out. If you're thinking about trying HotWorx, this is definitely the location to choose!

I am extremely disappointed with how my membership cancellation has been handled…read more Last month, I called the studio to cancel my membership and was specifically instructed to call back three days before the end of the month. I relied on those instructions. When I called on Saturday, August 1, I was never informed that cancellations could not actually be processed over the phone or that they had to be submitted through a separate website. Instead, I was told that only the owner/manager had access to cancel memberships and that she would contact me on Monday. Monday came and went without a phone call or any follow-up. On Tuesday, August 4, I had to call the studio myself again because no one had reached out as promised. During that conversation, the owner/manager told me she would text me the website link so I could process the cancellation. As of 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, I still have not received that text message. Despite the repeated lack of communication and follow-through from the studio, I was told that the charge would not be waived because several days had passed. It is unreasonable to hold me responsible for delays that were caused by incorrect information from your staff and the failure of management to follow through on what was promised. If your employees are instructing members to cancel by phone, they should know the correct cancellation procedure. If cancellations must be completed through a separate website, that information should be clearly communicated the first time a member calls--not after the billing cycle has already renewed. Making members depend on a manager who is unavailable, while failing to provide the required cancellation link, creates an unnecessarily difficult cancellation process. I have also been recovering from surgery since December, which is why I am no longer able to fully participate in the classes and no longer need this membership. I made multiple good-faith attempts to cancel and followed the instructions your staff gave me. Unfortunately, the studio's lack of communication and inconsistent information has now resulted in an additional charge that could have been completely avoided. I respectfully request that the most recent membership charge be waived and that my membership be canceled immediately. I also encourage the studio to improve staff training and communication so future members are not put through the same frustrating experience. Members should not have to repeatedly call, wait for promised callbacks that never happen, or chase down a cancellation link just to end a membership.

The truth is, keeping up at 51 has been a challenge. Up until about three months ago, I was fighting what I call the 'dad bod life'--adding a few pounds here and there, year after year. It's been almost three months since I joined a mind, body, and soul program, and I've started to feel a real sense of community, or a culture if you will, created by the founder, Jason. Just last week, I found myself with walking pneumonia, and I was laid out for a couple of days--I mean, laid out. After looking into B12 shots, liquid IVs, and cryo chambers, I sent Jason a message and asked, 'Does the infrared sauna really work? I'm feeling pretty drained and need a quick solution.' Since my family and I are members (my wife, my 12-year-old son, and me--don't ask me to repeat my age again, lol), he said, 'I'll put you down for an appointment and give you a quick intro.' The rest is history. After two sessions, and just two days later, I was feeling a lot more like myself. Now, this was after already consulting with western medicine--seeing a doctor and taking medication. The infrared sauna helped me regain my strength in just two days. I found myself looking at my wife, saying, 'Can you believe this?' The point is, the infrared sauna doesn't just help flush out impurities--it also brings back your energy. But more importantly, I'm so grateful to Jason for allowing our family to be part of this community! If you're reading this, I highly recommend you get off the couch and message Jason ASAP!"
