Located in the Town Center, parking is ample, if you come at the right time. The gym is spacious with plenty of machines. It was a bit busy around 11 am on a weekday, but I appreciated how cool and comfortable it was. They only have a separate steam room here, which I hoped would be a dry sauna, but no luck. The amenities are pretty good, especially since there's a mall within walking distance. If you're choosing EOS, their amenities might give them an edge over LA Fitness, which has three locations nearby and a dry sauna option.

This place is so disappointing now. I've been coming here for a while, before it was bad. I think it's important to know, that these machines are at least 15 years old. It could be very dangerous to not replace equipment.

Rope trainer rope. It does not even work in the machine, can you guys just replace it instead of stitching it together with shoestring?

EoS stands for "End of Service". This is alluding to the constant state of disrepair the equipment and supporting facilities are in. Once it breaks- it's not coming back. I've been using the same broken Pec Fly machine for literal months. Thanks to the ingenuity of the people of Santa Clarita, we have propped the seat up with weights and continue to use it regardless. This isn't even mentioning any bathroom stalls and fixtures that are constantly out of order. I try to avoid being in there as to not be in anyone's selfies or inhale the thick vape clouds coming from the EoS clientele.

Shower needs privacy for members. Put a temporary current till part comes in already. It's been 3 weeks already

This new gym feel isn't it. The most important thing is it's dirty. I've been a client of Golds for the last 10 years. I've never seen filth like this while working out. The other thing is, they should've never gotten rid of the black-and-white pictures on the brick wall like Golds updated to. The blue California pictures look cheap and 80s.

New Broken machine. With no note on it

There's something for every fitness level and goal, so it's easy to stay motivated and keep workouts interesting. The coaches are knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping everyone succeed. They create a positive and supportive environment while making each class both challenging and fun. The atmosphere is another standout. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and respectful, making it a place you actually look forward to coming back to. If you're looking for a gym with excellent classes, amazing coaches, and a great community, I highly recommend this one.

I recently tried a few other gyms, and while they were okay, they just didn't compare to Afterburn. At first, the membership price might seem like a lot, but once you compare the pricing to other gyms and what's included with Afterburn it feels worth it. Keep an eye out because they do have specials for new clients often! ;) And if you know someone who already comes to Afterburn, you can do a "friend referral" that can help you both. ;) The trainers here are incredible. They push you to become stronger while also encouraging you every step of the way, literally! On the days when I want to give up, they're the ones reminding me that I can do hard things. As someone who started out overweight and out of shape, I can honestly say I've never once felt judged. The trainers create such a positive environment, and the members are just as welcoming and supportive. One thing I really appreciate is that the classes never feel overcrowded. Unlike other gyms where you're packed in like sardines, there's plenty of space to work out comfortably. What really makes Afterburn different is the community they've built. They don't just focus on workouts--they focus on their people. From holiday events and team challenges to themed workouts and brunch workouts, they create opportunities for everyone to connect, have fun, and make lasting memories. It feels like you can build friendships here. I also love the new sauna and cold plunge. I use them regularly, and they're always clean, well-maintained, and never overcrowded. If you're overweight or you're just trying to get back on track, don't let the financial fear hold you back. The trainers will help you build healthier habits without breaking your budget. I realized that by cutting back on fast food and making better choices, I was actually saving money--enough to help cover my membership. That's an investment that pays you back in your health. If you're on the fence, I highly recommend taking advantage of the 3-day trial. Walk through the doors, give it a chance, and see what it's all about. By the end of the year, you'll be glad you started. Afterburn won't change your life for you--but if you're willing to show up and let them help you, I truly believe they can help you build a stronger, healthier, and happier version of yourself. The hardest part is taking that first step.

Once I completed that, I wanted to maintain my cardio program, and joined the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Center. I really like this place, for several reasons. I can actually get free memberships at several local gyms through my insurance, but I'd rather pay to go here. It's a more mature crowd, with most people either doing some sort of rehab or physical fitness. It's not a social club or hang out, everyone is serious about what they're doing. I don't have much experience in gyms, but from what I see, they have plenty of cardio machines (treadmills, crossfits, arm ergos, upright and reclining bikes) as well as weight stations with both plate weights and resistance. There are free weights as well and all kinds of support stuff like mats, stretch bands, etc. The place is spotless, with constant cleaning going on, and everyone seems to take the time to wipe their stations down after use. I don't use these areas, but they have beautiful locker rooms, showers, basketball courts and a pool that is half indoor/half outdoor. The staff is friendly and helpful, and available for personal training if you desire. They have tons of classes from spin to balance. Downstairs, there is an advanced weight training room. I go three times a week and always look forward to it. I highly recommend you check them out.

However, I've now had two uncomfortable interactions with a front desk employee named Deborah that left me feeling frustrated, unwelcome, and honestly unsafe. The first interaction happened while I was on the treadmill. Deborah approached me and told me that "someone complained" because I didn't have headphones on while watching something on my phone. I completely understand the common courtesy of using headphones in the gym, which is why I purposely chose a treadmill with empty machines on both sides of me, kept the volume extremely low, and even had captions on. The gym music, conversations, treadmills, and equipment were all significantly louder than my phone. When I explained this, Deborah herself responded, "Oh I know, I can't even hear it and I'm standing right here." That immediately confused me, because if she couldn't hear it standing next to me, I didn't understand why it was being treated like a complaint issue. When I asked who complained, she said she didn't know. The only people near me were a few women talking loudly together, so the situation felt strange and unnecessary. What bothered me most was not the reminder itself, I understand policies and courtesy rules exist. What bothered me was the approach. It felt like she blamed an "anonymous member complaint" instead of simply asking me directly to put headphones on. I later told Deborah that I didn't appreciate being told a story that didn't make sense when she could have just communicated honestly and respectfully. The second interaction happened when my app wasn't working and I asked to check in using my phone number. As I was walking away, Deborah stopped me and repeatedly pushed me to take a photo for the account. I told her multiple times that I was not comfortable doing that, but she continued pushing and giving reasons that were not accurate. I explained that I've been coming here for months without issue and that my home gym already has my photo on file. She incorrectly insisted this location was my home gym, even after my app showed otherwise. Again, the issue is not that she wants to do her job thoroughly. The issue is the way she communicates and disregards boundaries after being told "no." Not everything needs to become confrontational or overexplained. There's a difference between being helpful and making members feel uncomfortable. These interactions have created a negative feeling every time I come in and see her working. I hope management addresses the importance of respectful communication and listening to member concerns and boundaries. If management would like to contact me directly, Deborah knows exactly who I am.

I am writing this review to formally express a serious concern regarding the Valencia LA Fitness…read morelocation. On Monday, I attended a kickboxing class in the studio and the room was extremely hot due to a lack of air conditioning. The thermostat showed a temperature of 90 degrees, creating unsafe and completely intolerable conditions. It was so uncomfortable that I genuinely felt like I might faint, and several other members also looked visibly affected. It was clear the environment was not safe for a high-intensity workout. Kickboxing is already a demanding physical activity, and without proper cooling or ventilation, it becomes a real health risk. This goes beyond discomfort and enters the territory of heat exhaustion and dehydration. As a fitness facility, LA Fitness has a responsibility to ensure workout spaces are safe, and this location failed to meet that standard. Because the class could not be safely completed, I am requesting that this issue be properly addressed and corrected to ensure the studio's HVAC system is fully inspected, repaired, and maintained so that safe temperatures are consistently upheld during all classes. I am also requesting written confirmation that the issue has been resolved and that appropriate corrective action has been taken. I expect a written response confirming the steps taken to fix this issue, along with documentation of the corrective action, no later than 7 business days from the date of this message. If I do not receive a timely response within that timeframe, I will escalate this matter further. At the time of the class, there was no immediate acknowledgment or resolution offered. Members should not be expected to risk their health or lose value due to preventable facility issues. I strongly urge management to take this seriously, ensure proper temperature control for all future classes, and provide written confirmation that corrective action has been completed. Safety should always come first, especially in group fitness environments. I hope this issue is resolved promptly and appropriately so that no one else has to experience unsafe conditions like this again.

This is a great 24 hour gym! Been a member here for years. It's not specifically a "private" gym…read morebut it has the feeling of a private gym. It's organized and clean although sometimes it's a little dusty. That's the worst thing I can say. But this is Santa Clarita and everyone knows it's dry and windy so it's going to be a little dusty from the door constantly being opened. My experience with staff has always been positive. My encounters with Joel (the manager for a few years now) and Riley, has always been positive. They are friendly and polite and they do a great job of keeping the gym in order. Being that this gym has a more upscale feel and is available to members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with limited staffing, members are expected to police themselves and follow the rules. It's not only ownership that expects this, but it's other members as well. That's why we pay more for membership here. If I wanted a messy gym where nobody cares, I'd go to LA fitness. Members are held accountable of they commit rules violations and some people don't like that. This isn't LA fitness or EOS where if you break a rule, nobody says anything (which is also one of the reasons I really like this place). If you don't want a problem with staff, follow the rules. Don't open the door for anyone who can't get in on their own, don't bring in guests (or your children) during unstaffed hours and return the equipment you use. It's common sense and courtesy. There are signs up with rule reminders around the gym and at the front door and everybody gets explained the security rules upon signing up. If you break the rules, you're probably going to get contacted by staff. Most members appreciate the attention to safety and enforcement of picking up when you're done. Others appear to get upset because they didn't like being told they violated a rule and come to yelp to complain. Don't judge this place based off a few negative reviews left by people who are upset they were contacted for rules violations or didn't know how to read the contract they signed. It's a great community, it's safe and has everything you need to get a great workout!

The manager, Joel Schoonmaker, approached me about my daughter having been in the club with me on two previous occasions weeks ago. He stated the policy of no children allowed in a scolding manner while I was on a treadmill. I immediately said I understood and would not bring her back. I thought that would be the end of it. Instead, I was publicly confronted and spoken to in an extremely condescending, authoritative and intimidating manner in front of other members. I repeatedly asked Joel to speak to me professionally and told him that I was uncomfortable with how he was addressing me. I asked to speak with the owner because I no longer felt comfortable speaking with him. He repeatedly said, "I'm the manager," but would not give me the owner's information. During the interaction, he told me, "You know what? You're awkward. You're just awkward." He walked away and then came back to the treadmill I was on and continued scolding me. I would not accept his unprofessional treatment and repeatedly told him I felt uncomfortable as he was rude and was embarrassing me in front of others who were working out as well. He then told me to follow him to his office. I told him I would not go into an office with him because I was uncomfortable after the way he had been speaking to and treating me. I repeatedly asked to speak with the owner instead. He did not give me any information as to how to reach the owner, instead he said multiple times that he was the manager. He told me that if I wouldn't follow him to his office, I would have to leave or be removed by law enforcement. He then said words to the effect of, "You don't want me to get law enforcement involved. I know everyone out here." He also referenced his and his wife's employment with Glendale PD. At that point, I felt intimidated and extremely uncomfortable. He went to call law enforcement, so I gathered my things and left the gym in tears. He also told me that he sometimes brings his own children into the gym because "I'm the manager." I understand that managers may have different circumstances, but considering that seeing children there was the reason I misunderstood the policy in the first place, this felt like a double standard. The child policy itself was not my issue. I made a mistake, I acknowledged it, and I said it would not happen again. My issue was how I was treated. A manager can enforce a rule without publicly humiliating a paying customer, calling her "awkward," refusing to provide the owner's information, using law enforcement as intimidation, threatening membership termination and a $200+ charge, and ultimately removing her from the gym because she asked to be treated professionally. I left feeling humiliated and completely disrespected. This could have been handled with a simple, professional, and private conversation. Owner, please reach out to me. I have tried to find a way to contact you but have not been able to. I want to be clear that this review is not intended to reflect negatively on the gym itself. We genuinely enjoy working out here. The facility is clean, updated, and the rest of the staff have always been wonderful. Unfortunately, Joel's treatment of me left a horrible impression on my family and me. I came to the gym simply wanting to work out in peace, and instead I left in tears after being publicly scolded, called "awkward," intimidated with references to law enforcement, and ultimately removed from the gym. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with the owner directly and have this situation addressed appropriately. I do not believe I should lose my membership or be charged a fee as a result of this interaction, particularly after I acknowledged the policy and agreed to comply with it going forward. I am hopeful that ownership will take this seriously and address the unprofessional and humiliating way this situation was handled. I would be happy to update my review once this matter has been fairly and appropriately resolved. I would also advise that he is not permitted to speak to customers in a private office where he can behave this way in private without cameras. There are many people who have a hard time speaking up when being mistreated by people like Joel.
