I am a member of FC from San Antonio and came here while visiting family. This is a very large facility with lots of workout areas and plenty of cardio machines. I really like the large TVs they have to watch sports while working out. The restrooms have quite a few stalls and lots of lockers. This has the potential to be a great gym if they update free weights equipment. The bench press is very out dated and lots of missing weights. Barbells are very disorganized and missing. Members pay an annual maintenance fee for FC so why isn't the facility being maintained to members standards. Members are what provides your income and we are not getting what we pay for. read more

I absolutely do NOT recommend the Mission Bend location. The Business Manager essentially condoned the harassment I experienced from both the location's Manager and Assistant Manager while I was just trying to attend my cardio class. It's very clear they do not care about their members. To make matters worse, they've blocked me from submitting further feedback regarding the response I received from "J.M." to my previous review. That says a lot. But don't just take my word for it--check out the other reviews. Most of them are negative, and for good reason. This location has mostly everything you need to workout. Gym is huge. Tons of new equipment. Fairly young crowd of gym goers (fyi - gets packed after school). It could use a lot of improvement though. After reading through some other reviews here, I see that I'm not the only one who thinks how disorganized the gym always is. I've gone to this location at various times of the day but it's always the same annoying problem I run into -- finding the dumbbells. The dumbbells are always misplaced. Either they're not in the correct place on the rack or they're entirely missing. If you've been here and know how big this location is, you know how annoying it is to have to walk all over the gym just to find some dumbbells. Members at other FC locations that I've gone to are not this bad. People that know common gym etiquette put up weights where they belong. But here??? Those members are few and far between. A lot of members that go here also like to blast their music instead of wearing headphones when they're working out which is honestly quite rude and distracting for other members. As for the workers, most are nice. Some are rude for no reason lol. I do wish that they would help re-rack and organize weights though. It would also be nice if they asked members to use headphones instead of allowing them to blast their music. I often see them sitting around on their phones when I feel like there's a lot they could be doing around the gym. So if you don't mind having to hunt down dumbbells throughout the entire gym or listen to other peoples' music, this is the place for you. But honestly, I highly recommend going to other Fitness Connection locations. You'd be paying the same amount and wouldn't have to deal with these issues. read more

All the stationary bikes were jammed. I asked the guy at the front if he could come and help me adjust the seat and he told me "No". The purpose of the gym is to promote health and fitness and also assist your gym members when they are in need. ESPECIALLY when it comes to operating equipment and education. I come in first thing in the morning and a gym employee is working out and training someone before opening but other employees can't take 2 minutes to help a member adjust workout equipment. Got my car broken (smashed windows) into along with 7 other cars on that same day, and they still made me pay a cancellation fee and for an extra month. If the customer service from the men and one woman changed, this would be 4/ 5 stars. The men really don't know how to work in a customer service setting. AT ALL. The other fitness connection locations have men that excel with it , so it's not a man hater thing lol . It is also very very uncomfortable at how they just stare and make comments that others can hear in regards to a woman's body and what they would do to them. The 2 stars are for the huge, nice facility and the amount of machines, I've never had to wait to workout. When I signed up with Malcolm, he was informative and efficient. I went in, got my membership and got out. I have been a member for over a week now and somethings are making me reconsider my membership, makes you really say "you get what you pay for": 1. Front Desk Staff- HORRIBLE! It does not matter who is at the front "welcoming" you, it worsened as the days passed. They are at the front desk eating and watching movies on a small screen, not sure how they are keeping an eye on people walking in. 2. Guest "Pass"- this was one of the perks when signing up for membership and was excited to use it to show my husband the new gym. When I told the front desk employees he is my guest, they looked at each other and said "we'll let you in only if you plan to sign up". I get this is a business but there are ways to wording things. They did not have any disposable gloves, I gladly bought the $5 pair yet I watched as they let it at least 10 people with no gloves on and their masks at their chin. The standard should be across the board. 3. PPE- masks and gloves are MANDATORY, however, half of the gym is not wearing them. 4. Children playing in the women's gym. Left my workout before I finished as there were kids playing on the equipment that people were waiting for. As a mother, I respect the rules (no kids area at the moment) and leave my kids home. 5. Gym Etiquette- it has been disgusting the amount of times I've had to wipe down sweaty equipment. Especially during a pandemic, everyone should do their part. 6. No staff on stage- I have not seen any staff member helping in wiping down equipment or for any reason. I really had high hopes for this gym but Management and staff is what makes a good place great and this place does not have it. Hope it changes soon! read more

Avoid this gym by all means. I cancelled my membership on April 3rd and I was charged the annual membership fee after cancellation , and additional 25.83 was deducted from my account for no reasonable cause today being May 13th. They are out there to make money. Leave your account details with them to your own detriment. Their charges never ends. When I called to find out why I was charged additional fee after I had canceled my membership a month prior, I was told it was a cancellation fee. They are out there to milk people dry. read more

Well, I joined this FC location at the beginning of the year because they were on the Silver Sneakers list. Yes, the gym is new and clean. Yes, the staff is nice, but WHEN will the advertised Silver Sneakers classes begin. I have asked several times and was told they are looking for an instructor, ( since January 2021?) I've sent messages to the General manager, no reply received. My advice to this location is, If you can't or won't accommodate the Senior members with the advertised Silver Sneakers Circuit, Classic, Muscle and stability classes then they should be removed from your advertisements. Zumba and Cycling is nice for younger adults......How about amenities for those over 65 years old. We want to exercise too. read more

Now of course people have their different opinions of gyms, but I believe this establish deserves 5 stars due to having a great looking facility & working equipment. Some gyms really don't have that. Next and most important, the customer service from the morning girls are top tier. Mahogany & Yolanda not only make for a great team, they make sure I as a member am heard and looked out for. It's hard enough to be there in the wee hours of the morning, but to come with a great attitude consistently is hard to come by. They greet with masked smiles and great energy on the way in & well wishes for the day on the way out. If they treat me with such customer service, I know it's a constant with other members as well. Decent gym but no one re-racks their weights. The gym opens in the morning and the weights are not even put back from the night before. This gym just has bad systems. It's a mess by 10am. I had to give 1 star because that's the lowest it allows me to go. An employee, female, signed my 16 year old son up with a membership around Feb 2021 by changing his year of birth by 2 years to make him old enough to sign a contract. She changed it because it's against their policy. Um, excuse me, it's AGAINST THE LAW for a minor to enter into a contract and adults know this, minors DO NOT, they're just kids and don't know any better which is why it's ILLEGAL!!!!! Oh, they didn't even ask to see his ID, why, because he doesn't have one, not even a school ID and if he did have a school ID, it would've said that he was a junior in high school which then should prompt her to ask for a different ID. He tried canceling it since he never even went after that and couldn't so that's when me, his mother, got involved. I called and spoke to customer service, got it canceled and the representative couldn't believe what happened. She stated to me that in order to get my money back (because minors can't even get their own bank accounts), she told me that I needed to take it up with the manager of the actual location that the membership started from. I called, the guy that answered the phone agrued with me about it and told me that he knew and read everything that was signed, no minor/child knows what all of that means, and that it wasn't illegal. I called back after I stated that I was on my way to talk to a manager because with traffic and the distance, I wouldn't make it in time and I got one. The manager I spoke to was named George and I explained everything, he seemed helpful and stated that the money would be returned from day one and that it would be canceled but call him back after the weekend to make sure everything went through unless he contacted me first. Called, was "busy" so I left a message for him to call me, nothing, called another time, "busy" so I left a message for him to call me, nothing again. My son called me from school and told me that they took more money out of his account today, so I called back today 01/04/2022 and nobody answered the phone, hung up and called to get customer service again. She wanted proof of his age by submitting his birth certificate, so I did and she stated that she was submitting it but her/the manager was in a meeting and that she would call me back this afternoon. Guess what, it's after 6pm and NOTHING!!! Shocked? NO! I was polite with everyone that I spoke with, despite how I normally am when you piss me off or do something to my child. I had to call the bank and get them involved because it's complete FRAUD. The bank told me that they kept taking out different amounts of money 2x a month out of the account for a total of over $350. The bank is now handling everything and the charges are being disputed. I will NEVER in my life recommend this place or the people that work there. All they had to do was make everything right but they couldn't even do that. It's scary to know how many more people they've done this to. So if you want to be frauded, argued with and ignored by the manager when there's a problem, this is DEFINITELY the gym for you! That's the only way this gym gets a recommendation, hahahahaha. Despite the reviews left on here, this gym is worth what you pay a month for your membership. Always clean, typically never wait in the mornings for a machine. The people here are nice and other peoples hygiene hardly isn't an issue. The womens center includes weights, machines and movie room with cardio machines. If anything can be replaced with something new they don't hesitate to upgrade overly used equipment. Best fitness connection in the houston area hands down. read more

Really Like how neat & organized the equipments are which speaks a lot. + Another really good thing you guys upgraded on is 1) Turf that covers a good amount of space to train . 2) Pull up bars ( which is amazing since I'm more into calisthenics ) 3) Sauna Great basketball court and multiple machine to use . I finally decided to return to a gym setting after all the chaos this year. Liked the idea that this location was new, so everything will be clean and perfect. The layout is nice, plenty of space between equipment. For the most part I was pleased. But, 2 days in a row there are people in the back without masks or gloves. This was pretty much throughput my hour in that area. Yesterday there were 5-6, today it was 2 guys. I noticed an emoyee giving a tour, so I asked about the policy. She said they walk around... but not for the last hour. She also said they could not "make" people wear the required mask & gloves. I went back this morning and these two guys never had a mask over their faces or gloves on their hands. I plan to go back one more time. If the staff does not have the skill or authority to manage these situations in this current pandemic, I think this gym should be shut down. read more

Gym is nice. State of the art equipment and nice big screen TVS. I love the turf areas as well. I have been to multiple fitness connections and this one by far is the best in terms of aesthetics. The problem I have and the reason for the 3 stars instead of 5 is that the dumb bells are NEVER.....I repeat NEVER put back in the same place. They are never rqcled properly and are literally all over the place. How can a gym that is so nice have that issue. Shouldn't there be someone; an employee walking the floor to remedy that problem. It's annoying af having to look for matching dumbells. I come to workout and lift weights not to play go Easter egg hunting for dumbbells. I mean, are the weights ever put up correctly? I've NEVER seen them racked properly! That to me says alot about management. Right now this fitness connection is ridding high from the newness of the gym. In a couple of years this gym will be trash. You have to take care of the small things that seem irrelevant like putting weights up where they belong. They gym etiquette 101! Even trash gyms know tonrack their weights correctly. You don't know how many times I've wanted to correctly rack all the dumbbells. I went there today to sign up. Used to be Mercado 6 the flea market. It was clean and lots of space. Way better than the Planet Fitness down the road. New equipment and sanitation places everywhere. Make sure you wear gloves or no entry. They gave me complimentary gloves since it was my first day. They check your temperature before you walk in and enforce masks and social fitnessing. All the gym equipment are spread out so you don't feel uncomfortable. Staff is really nice. Definitely recommend. Hopefully it says this way. read more

I have been a member of this gym for almost a year now and throughout the months that I have been here, it was hard to ignore the reoccurring pattern of the gym not giving enough heed to changes that need to be made. There are many machines that have had "Out of order" signs for a while and worst of all, the one of the rims on the basketball court is broken, which is outrageous. Not only is this a safety hazard but it also limits the basketball court capacity, making it harder to catch a game because the courts are packed. No one has good gym etiquette and the gym locked the cable attachments so you cant even replace them because people steal the attachments like huh???!! First visit. I walked in and i was stoked that it has the size and space to really get some work in. 20 glorious minutes of GO TIME! Then here comes new manager guy. Kind of irritating. I have on workout gloves. I sanitize before and after each machine. And my mask is covering my face, The manager comes at me LOUDLY talking and scolding me about about how since its my first time here they normally charge $5.00 for clear latex gloves to workout in. But I can get some free. I said ok. No problem. Walking me up to the front desk talking all loud and shit. I saw 4 people total with gloves on. 1 set was the clear plastic ones which carry germs anyway. But he's at this point getting louder yelling to someone to get me a (again) normally $5.00 pair of gloves. Lmao. Non latex clear gloves. The kind that rip. To lift weights in. Nice gym for what it's worth. $20 a month. *** POSITIVES *** * Nice square footage at 70,000 sq. ft. * Dumbbells go up to 150lbs. * All equipment is brand spanking new * For the most part, staff is "friendly" * Good amount of each piece of equipment so no long waits during peak times. *** NEGATIVES *** * People with NO GYM ETIQUETTE continuously workout at the Mission Bend location. * People with absolutely NO RESPECT for other workout at the Mission Bend location. * Very few members know how to re-rack their weight. * Very few members know how to wipe down equipment after use, although we're in the middle of a pandemic where just today it was reported that numbers are on the rise by 250%. * Many members walking around with "slides" on instead of proper shoes, although management keeps telling me it's against the rules. * VERY LAZY management team and staff. * There are NO BAR ATTACHMENTS for the Cables. * I personally have NEVER seen any staff member ever lift a finger to pick up weights or wipe down equipment. (At the Westchase location, I continuously see the GM himself rack weights, pick up trash, talk to members on the floor, etc. Unfortunately NOT the case at Mission Bend. GREAT JOB JOSH!!) * Members continuously walk around WITHOUT MASK OR GLOVES. But because of the laziness of the entire staff, those people are not told otherwise, although when I ask, management assures me it is required. These are just a few of the pros and cons off the top of my head, I'm sure there are more but I think you get the gist. Overall, it's not "that bad" of a place and everything is pretty when it's new. Unfortunately, with the management team and staff that Fitness Connection Corporate has in place there, I have ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER that they'll run it into the ground in sight of the first year of being open. The management and workers at night is horrible with on being only selective with a few people that they acknowledge and the rest with a face that doesn't give a warm welcome. Also there is a lot of treadmill to seem to be not working for months now and it just keep adding like almost week with not being. i have to give huge compliments to Mrs. Yolanda for being very helpful person. Always giving proper hospitality to each and every member with her signature smile. Her welcoming heart shall be acknowledged by her supervisors in case they are occupied with their own tasks. She is one of the few people that answers each questions that are asked by guests and reracks weights after members are done. Fitness Connection does have a productive member that is able to enlighten her guests as they come in, definitely carries manager qualities in case they that question is ever brought up with her supervisors. read more

The place is really nice looking but the staff is so horrible. You can't tell if they are people that are working out there or working there is just a mess. Everyone takes their mask off or have as chin diaper and the staff doesn't do anything about it. They use to be better when they first open but now is like they give zero fucks what goes on as long as everyone is out by the time they close. Also the staff doesn't put things back where they belong so everything is messy and I know people should put what they use back but again no one is reinforcing any rules.Smh read more
