I joined this location in December 2018(I was a member at the Carrollton location prior). Started consistently coming when they moved to the permanent location. The gym is really nice, clean for the most part, nice machines. The water in the bathroom(women's) has an awful sewage like smell. Very unpleasant. The hot water wasn't working this past weekend(my husband had to take a cold shower and now he's sick). Love all the classes and instructors. Kids club is good also, up until recently. I'm furious, I go to the gym 4-5 days a week and utilize the kids club while I work out. I got suspended for 2 weeks from using the kids club area because I was "allegedly" consistently late picking up the kids. Smh. I didn't get a warning about this or anything. 2 weeks is asinine!! Sucks but what can I do!! read more

Genuinely dumb founded at how this gym has such good reviews. I only come to this location because its so close to home but it is seriously so disgusting. The women's locker room looks like a pigsty. The red couches in the lounge are so dirty, they are BLACK. I have never seen anyone cleaning the bathroom and I am convinced it has never even remotely seen a bottle of bleach. The changing rooms ALWAYS have random gym equipment in them, which leaves people going crazy looking for the weights in the actual gym. All of the cardio machines are outdated and half are broken, to which are also never fixed! The main gym floor is scattered with random dumbbells and trash. All the spray sanitizers are watered down, the paper towels are always sitting on top of the trash cans, never in the dispenser, the mirrors are insanely dirty and the floors are literally falling apart. The women's only gym itself is horrendous. A free weights rack that is NEVER stacked correctly, weight machines that desperately need wd-40, and insanely crowed with machines that are never used! I am confused as to why this location is sacrificing hygiene and cleanliness for a old "security officer" that sits and stares at people. You are charging me more and more every year to be open 24/7, but refuse to use the extra money to hire a competent janitor staff? Make it make sense! Other locations have staff that walks around around every 1-2 hours organizing and re-racking things instead of gossiping and being on their phone at the front desk. The management team at this location seriously needs to visit the FC off Forest and Marsh. Their front desk staff is always welcoming, the machines and weights aren't disintegrated and full of grime, the building does not smell like BO and rusted metal and most of all, IT IS CLEAN! read more

Do not go to this location if do not want your vehicle stolen or broken into. The owner of the property does not have property security and Dallas PD will not come out if called. They have more amenities than planet fitness but they definitely are NOT as clean and tidy. There's random dumbbells and weights everywhere. Please note that the manager is the only one who can activate guest passes at this location. This is HIGHLY inconvenient considering he is only at the gym certain hours. After waiting an hour to speak with the manager, he expressed guest passes are for Texas RESIDENTS ONLY. This is NOT noted or documented in their policies on their website. I am a Texas resident and I was a guest at a Fitness Connection in North Carolina. They are also EXTREMELY inconsistent on honoring the websites sign up deals/ discounts. The sign up process was a headache. I'm considering changing gyms or even locations because of this matter. There are pros to this gym but the cons are outweighing my experience. read more

I am not sure why this gym is getting bad reviews. I have never had an issue. There are enough machines, enough weights, the sauna is great, & it's always clean. It is no different than any other gym I've belonged to & I'm glad to have one so close to me. Honestly, it's clutch for me when I'm not working out with my trainer. I know I can run over to the gym & get the job done. The bad reviews seem to be mostly on the staff. I've never had to really interact with them--I come in, they greet, I scan & move on. U come to workout & to workout at such a convenient location is fine by me. Not sure what other reviewers expect or what they are there to do, but I promise you, if you want to just go to workout, you will be able to accomplish that with zero issues. read more

Horrible customer service! First off the facility is decent. The people are not!! I went at 5 am to workout and was told I owed money. I am on automatic monthly payments. My card had expired and they are too cheap to pay for the service that updates the expiration dates. Usually the employees are playing on their phones or all but laying down on the counter. I gave her my new expiration date and paid what was owed. She never updated my expiration date. I was told they would have texted me to update but I didn't have the box checked that they could text. Yet they spam my email almost daily. Then I am told to call a phone number to get the late fees waived. I was told no problem but charged anyway. Months later I get a text saying I owe over $75 in fees, dues and late charges. Why? Because no one still never updated the expiration date of course. Spoke to Alfredo Leyva at corporate. He said send him an email explaining and they would waive the fees and it would take a few days. Well a month later and he doesn't respond and I gave up and bought a Tonal. I used to belong to Lifetime Fitness and paid $130 a month. Never one issue. You definitely get what you pay for and $10.83 doesn't get you any customer service. This location has lots of bad reviews, but honestly it's been a great experience so far. The parking lot is a lot better nowadays (if you know, you know). The staff is helpful and friendly. Cleaning crew is on point always cleaning the workout areas and equipment. There are whole sheets of broken window glass littering fitness connection parking lot EVERYWHERE . Not the first time since the gym has been open , but today's sighting was egregious. Its 2pm as I enter the gym , the young man working the front counter greets me and I ask " man there's broken window glass everywhere in the parking lot whats going on "? HIS reply was " man thats out there , they ain't coming in here" , all I could do was stoically look at him and walk off! I Stopped by and spoke with a manager on the way out. It transitions down from the management who will simply laugh at you when you have a problem. The gym is nice in itself but their customer service is poor. Upon my first time visiting this location no one even gave me a tour of the facility. Secondly, no one walked me through the process of being a first time guest, I was just informed to sign in on the iPad and that was it. When I went back the second time I asked a Rep how the guest thing worked she informed me she didn't know and to speak with a Sales Rep after working out. As I proceeded to walk into the women's area I was approached by Curtis who informed me that the young lady stated she told me to have a seat and someone would be right with me, which was a lie. Curtis however let me work out and I went and spoke with him prior to leaving for the day were he signed me up for a 7 day guest pass. I go back the next day inform the Rep upfront he informs me to sign my name in on the iPad etc, and while doing so I was approached by Micheal who rudely informed me that I needed my ID to activate my guest pass since I had just walked in the other day. I informed him I had already spoke with Curtis and he felt pretty dumb afterwards seeing I was in the system . Honestly what upset me the most was his poor level of customer service. For one his extra commentary was not needed especially when the Rep had lied the day before, and that was really just the deal breaker for me. Now I'm just going to use this guest pass and never return back . I refuse to give a company my money and their customer service is TRASH! This is the best gym in the area for your money. I have tried them all and fitness connection has everything I need for the right price. The only drawback is in the men's sauna some of the "smarter" members pour water on the electric heaters and sensor on the wall. The door clearly states that it is a "dry sauna". Management put a sign up on the door that was ripped down and thrown away a day later. I hope they can find a solution soon because the "smart members" are going to ruin the sauna for all of us. The staff also allows boomboxes so when you are trying to work out you hear three different song/genres of music playing at the same time. It's clearly not a priority to follow the rules stated on the signs plastered on the walls. I wish the staff would take control and make is fair and equal for everyone. It is a gym rule violation. Regarding Joshua R. Fraud review... You have to read the fine print and ask questions upon signing up. I was with FC two separate times, having signed up both me and my son and it was easy as I asked questions and got answers where my transitions were all smooth. I will go back to Fitness Connection (location does not matter, as they all work pretty much the same, however, my gym is in Mesquite) for my son only, I prefer my gym, LAF. My son does not want to workout to the level I do, in fact, I have to force him, but the $10 per month makes more sense under his circumstance. My advice to you, ask the necessary questions relative to cancellation and read your contract! read more

Moved from 24 hour to fitness connection. The restrooms are separated from the sinks in the ladies restroom. It requires you to open a door to go wash your hands after you use the restrooms. Really would like to know why there's not atleast some hand sanitizer by the door. It's pretty unsanitized to open the door after using the restroom. Some of the men that work wthis facility come into the area that is reserved for ladies. Why have an area reserved for women if your male workers can just walk into the area unannounced. I understand providing a tour to potential customers. But why does that include a man walking with her into an area reserved for women? Where are the ladies that are employed with your facility? I was at your Oak Cliff facility on Saturday around 6 pm two women were following me in there car while I was walking to the facility. I truly believe they were looking for an opportunity to rob me. I visited the club ( which was now totally out of my way) to be told I had to cancel via mail and certified was preferred. I needed to pay to cancel a membership and go to a post office?!?!?!?!?! this is 2019 So unhappily I went and placed it in the mail but I was not paying the certified fee. I still had to wait 60 days for them to cancel. GUESS what happened next. they kept billing me... I disputed with my card and blocked them for a while. So they began with the collection calls. I poke with the person explained I canceled she refused to look for the letter unless I could tell her the exact date. I then asked for a manager she told me there was not one available... This location sucks. The staff is rude starting off with the people that stand behind the counter. They literally do everything but their job. The black girl with red hair was super rude she literally was eating,texting and lounging on the counter while I tried to buy some supplements. FRAUD! So i became a member a few months ago in the temporary gym and everything was ok. I only joined because my wife was already a member there, and to start it was only $10 and $10 every first of the month. Then they switched us to the new location which was right next to it. Now there is nothing wrong with this gym, all the machines work as they should and they have free class sessions at certain times which is motivating. Im not to sure about the individual training with a trainer, but all i saw was that these trainers put you on a machine and leave. Easy money for them im assuming...But the reason this fitness connection franchise is bad is because when i signed up to be a member, i was told i can cancel anytime and it would be done. But here they are charging me ahead of schedule and they are also charging me after cancellation! On top of that when i did become a member they did not tell me anything about having to write a physical letter to them saying i want to cancel my membership. Then ON TOP OF THAT you have to wait 30 days after the letter was sent for it to be cancelled...that's if the letter reaches them in the first place. I emailed them about this, and the ones handling the money part which is another company. Now i have to wait to see if i continue being charged, and its not just me its me and my wife being charged. This is 2018 and we still have to write letters? I would think i can just go up there and tell them i want to cancel like any other gym but nope they want to make extra money by making new rules after you become a member and that's when it becomes fraud. I hope if ya ppl do want to cancel do it on the first of the month because if you do it in the middle of the month you will for sure be charged again. The gym it self is ok, nothing to complain about really! Their problem is their phone costumer services! The will do anything possible to try to deny your refund for cancellation. I cancelled my membership after 3 days which is the period you can cancel in order to get a full refund, well according to them I didnt send my letter(which is a dumb way of cancelling) until the 25th so they deny my full refund. I even send out the receipt of when I purchased my certified letter thing and everything and they still said no that the letter was not postmarked till the 25th even tho I have proof that I send it out on the 24th! 2 minutes ago Long story short: Guy named Juan texted me about sessions accumulating and balance on acct. I texted him back in concern bc i was unaware of a balance. Got there to speak with him (new manager btw) and basically i was screwed over. A guy named samuel signed me up for 12 months (personal training) which i didnt want. I wanted 3 months. And left a balance due on my acct and also built up almost 6 months worth of sessions. I asked Juan what was it i could do. He basically told me i wasnt the only one he had to tell this to. Unfortunately the guy who signed me up (samuel) was no longer with the company. He ran some numbers in case i wanted to cancel. I told him i didnt want to cancel. I just want my original agreement [3 months] he then tells me again it was nothing he could do. He jotted down a cust serv number. Which didnt help either. Was on the phone with rep name Mella for over 50 min woth no resolve. No help. I will be telling everyone i know not to sign up. Bc they do underhanded stuff without you knowing. Samuel was suppose to send me several emails when i signed up to look.over the agreements. In which he did not. So i had nothing but my word to back me up. I will not be going back. I am in the process of trying to figure out how to cancel this. Thanks Samuel for screwing me and several others over. You guys should be careful who you hire...it makes the entire company look bad. Visited the oak Cliff location and i noticed how clean it was. Before that, i was greeted by the friendly staff in the front. The floor plan is very nice and spacious! It's a very well kept gym! The kids club looks like a great place for the kids with movies and iPads , games a basketball court! i love the women's workout area! I love the quiet cardio movie room! I also go to Meet with the operations manager,Ataleo, and he was very nice and super helpful! Definitely recommend this location ! read more

I have been screwed into a 12 month contact w/o even knowing according to the corporate office. Mike Mcclure (PT mgr at the time) was training Sammuel (who now went off to college) when I signed what I was told was for the $104 auto draft for 6 wks PT for a Memorial Day special. Another $104 was drafted out my acct about 3/4 wks later. Only to call corporate to see why and a lady told me bc I had signed up for 12 mnths contract. I had text Mike to let him know what was going on and what happ he as h would resolve it and when I come in Monday he would discuss it with me. Come in Monday and without staff being notified Mike was fired for suspicious fraud activity. Now I have a new trainer Josh who didn't even know what was going on (not his fault sweet guy) but after session was over I was told my "plan" only included a trainer 3x a month, which we both agreed was weird bc I had been coming 3x a wk priviously, him and the African American trainer even verified they had seen me training with Mike many times a wk. I am literally sitting here at the location while writing this review. This is my 3rd time on site due to me leaving MANY, MANY messages of name cell & email for the new mgr Juan to call and he hasn't. I've spoken with corporate 4 times and apparently all they can do is give David Soto the DM an email to follow up but I have yet to speak with him. If you come here ONLY do gym memberships as the PT department "UBF" is a joke. read more

FYI THIS IS NOT THE FINAL LOCATION. IT'S TEMPORARY UNTIL THE MAIN LOCATION IS BUILT NEXT DOOR. i was looking for a place to work out closer to my house than cedar gill. Planet fitness was high as haites with lots of extra fees that weren't even necessary. I saw this place finally opened. I got a tour from a nice young lady and let me know the location was a temp as the new one was under construction next door. That made me feel better since it's in the old Big lots with the same floors. Lots of cardio equipment and weights. But better stuff is supposed to be coming when the main location is finished being renovated. No initiation fee. Just $10 a month period. And a one time $40 fee in July. I thought it's as worth a shot since I'd only be going to one location here's a bonus. The managers name is Joseph and he's super handsome. So he's totally worth admiring when you come into work and he's very nice too and knowledgeable about fitness. I'll be updating my starts to five as soon as the renovation is complete and i get to experience it! read more
