This gym is terrible. It used to be wonderful about 6 years ago, but since it was taken over by new owners a few years ago it has gone downhill in a major way.
(1) OLD BROKEN AND DIRTY EQUIPMENT. They do not properly maintenance any of their equipment. Unless a piece of equipment literally breaks, and someone specially tells the owner guy, he is clueless about the equipment. The belts on all of the treadmills are wonky. A few belts are torn and patched with electrical tape. Broken off handles, torn upholstery, jagged edges from cracked and broken parts, you name it, you will find it all at fitness360.
(2) NO MANAGER. There is no management of the place, at all. There used to be a "manager" (the owner's surly girlfriend) now it is just the owner and he does not have any business skills. The place is a mess, the sweet college kids never know what is going on, there are no clear signs about classes except for printed pieces of paper taped to various windows. The schedule on the "new" website is out of date (from several years back). Good luck tracking down the owner guy. He is pleasant if you are just saying hi, but if you have any actual question or concern, or want to let him know about anything that is wrong, he quickly turns rude and surly.
(3) FILTHY!!!! OMG, the place is disgusting. Layers of grime and filth everywhere. They literally have one, sweet woman who comes in for a few hours to do the very very basics (mopping, toilets, etc)--but you need a cleaning service to keep a 24-hour gym clean! It is so gross. Do not take a shower there! so gross. Also, there always running out of supplies (the wipe-down sheets for equipment, the mini-towels, handsoap). You can tell they do not care. Even the flags in front are torn to shreds and filthy.
(4)POOL IS NOW AWFUL. The pool was a big reason I used to belong to the gym. IT was such a pretty pool. Now it is filthy. I am pretty sure they o longer have regular pool maintenance. I have seen one of the older trainer guys doing the chemicals there sometimes. Usually is it swampy and filled with bugs and leaves. It used to be open on Saturday mornings, but now it does not open until 10 and closes much earlier too. They do not bother to replace simple things like the string of flags, even at the start of summer. Just the old line with the torn off bits of flags from previous years. The once nice umbrellas are now broken. SAD.
(5) SPIN BIKES BROKEN. I used to go the spin classes, they are really good and it is the only spin classes in town. The two women (and sometimes a guy) are great but the bikes are a complete joke. MOre than half are completely broken. The owner just has them turned upside down in the spin room. The bikes that "work" are all broken in one way or another. The tension is WAY off, the seats are torn and broken (tilt way up or way down, and/or are loose), almost all of the foot straps are missing or broken, the bikes are coverd in rust. And some of the protective plastic piece have some off on parts of the bikes so there are VERY sharp edges. The room is FILTHY, too, I have never seen the cleaning lady clean it, ever. I feel sorry for the instructors.
I will never go back. There're barely any people at the after work time anymore, you can tell that other people have decided they ill never go back either. I predict it will be closing down soon. read more
