Dear Fit for Less, I have been a regular member for approx. 1.5 years. I usually go to your 700 Lawrence W. location in Toronto. I recently visited your location at Bute and Pender in Vancouver and wanted to share a couple of observations. First, I would like to say the staff in both locations are fantastic and I have enjoyed my experiences in both locations. The Vancouver location was considerably slower and obviously a much smaller gym. I went there on 3 different days and always late morning to roughly noon. I noticed on 2 days that this location had 3 staff working. I could see this from the treadmills which were close to the front desk. I'm guessing an opener, then 2 people coming in later that overlapped for some time. I don't believe I saw more than 12-15 people working out on any of the days I was there. I'm sure it probably pick-ups after school hours with all the kids coming in. In comparison to 700 Lawrence Square that I believe might have anywhere between 100-200 people working out during those times with 3 people usually working. I also know that it is crazy busy after school hours during the week as I often go. The other thing that I wanted to mention was what I noticed with your Vancouver customers. There they seemed to be much more inclined to put the weights and other items back in the proper place, at least at the times I visited. Where 700 Lawrence customers are not as keen for this small upkeep. I'm very glad to hear the reminders on your system to inform customers on how to be a Fit for Less friend by putting their equipment back in the right place. A staff member was very rude. I lost my card and their system has been down for a while so they have to allow me to come in. While coming in the guy who knew i lost my card and allowed me to come in shouted at me while coming in reminding me about the cost of the card when the system was still down. When i asked if i can pay he showed me the post to be patient because the system is down. Then when I told him why he is telling about the replacement fee for losing the card when the system is down and he got mad and started shouting at me to stay or leave. I asked him for the manager phone # and when I called that number was the front desk # and he was answering the phone. Very unpleasant situation. read more

Since Katie took over supervising this location (Lawrence Square) a lot has changed for the better. She makes sure she greets you by name. The place is much cleaner than it was before she came, especially the bathrooms. You actually see the staff cleaning and not just hanging around the office. One thing that can be improved is asking users to be respectful when using their phones. Some people have loud conversations that everyone has to listen to. It would help to post signs around the gym asking members to be respectful when using their phones and not use speaker phone. Other than that, it's a great deal. For about $4/week you get to work out 24/7. read more

I would consider myself to be a loyal and responsible member. Never missed a payment since i became a member in 2020. I recently had missed 1 payment and had to reach out to their Customer Service team to ask them not to charge me the additional $25 fee. I do realize if consistently missed payments, this fee would not be waived. But their team could not waive this fee due to a misunderstanding of when my membership fee would be taking out of my account. Warning to you members, if you miss 1 payment due to any circumstances (sometimes there will be life issues we encounter), Fit4less team will not be compassionate about your finances. FYI. I cancelled my membership and your team told me that 1 more payment will be taking out of my account. I don't understand why as i owe nothing. All fees was settled. So i kept the membership card and will be using your gym until the end of the month. But if you continue to take fees from me, you will definitely be hearing from me. read more

This club is great! I came here with a friend during their monthly bring a friend pizza party workout and we had a blast. The machines are up to date and we were able to use all of the machines we wanted to with limited wait times. I don't think we had to wait for a machine once. They have plenty of cardio and weight machines. The price is also really great! If I lived in the area, I would definitely sign up to this gym. :) read more

I have cancelled my membership personally in their gym last March, and I keep on being deducted of $7.90 until end of May. The lady in the gym had confirmed to me that day (March) that my account has been cancelled completely. After that I made a total of 3 calls on different occasions (2-3 weeks apart) raising a concern about this. Each call they would say my account has been left active and they will "cancel it now". But I still keep on receiving charges. I received a total of 5 charges up to date. I hope they will actually cancel it and stop charging me. read more

This gym is the reason I decided not to enroll to gym membership again. Post quarantine months, before they reopen in Kingston, I emailed them saying that I wanted my membership cancelled. I had no reply and a week after they started charging my account. Upon realizing I emailed them again saying I had requested a cancellation and they charged me again 1 week later and acknowledged my cancellation request after taking the money. I sent another email requesting a refund and called the gym in Kingston to present the issue, they simply told me to submit a claim and that there is nothing they could do for me. It has been 3 weeks now and I haven't heard back from them. Now that they have taken my money for a service they did not provide (I haven't been to the gym since before covid) they have become blind and dumb! read more

Let's start with two great aspects. Price, and hours (24/7). The price speaks for itself. Regarding hours, this gym is one of the only ones in my geographical area (Greater Vancouver) where I can get in a workout before the Toronto Stock Market opens (at 6:30 AM Vancouver time). A definite plus. I am not the only one who lives in a different time zone than the locals, and I am never alone there when I show up at 5:00 AM. Now, let's talk about the flip side. I'll let others discuss the lack of hygiene amenities such as showers etc. Their absence obviously accounts for the lower membership fee. But in 2019/2020 can anyone really believe that a fitness organization doesn't provide access to Wifi? So if you want access to real-time workout regimens, you have to pay for cellular data? Really! How much would it cost, per customer, to put a high-speed modem in each of these units? Pennies per person per year. Charge me an extra dollar a month, if necessary. You get what you pay for. at first , I really enjoyed coming to this gym, as it's close to my house and a great value. I have the black card which gives me the ability to use massage chairs (such a treat sometimes) and the access to all fit4less clubs in Canada as I travel for work and hotel gyms just don't cut it! But lately its been lacking.... I do have a bone to pick with the dumbbells and weights always strewn in every nook and cranny of this particular location. People never put the equipment back.. They're always beside all of the machines at times making it dangerous for other people working out. Also, Muscle heads working out near the strength equipment do not like to: (for better lack of the word) "SHARE". I had one guy tell me off because he was "using" one of the strength machines while doing reps with dumbbells wayyy over to the side.. Not nice.. The washrooms could also use a little bit of TLC as well .. Actually.. alot of TLC.. That being said, if you are coming to strictly hop on and off the cardio machines or do a few reps on something else, be sure to bring a water bottle with you and avoid the washrooms if you can. read more

Been going to this place for 5 months now and it's pretty good for the price they are advertising. I'm paying the $10/month membership (plus $25 activation fee for the first month only) I usually go in when it's the least busiest between 6am-3pm or 9pm-1am. I'm pretty sure it remain pretty empty after 1am but I use transit so I can't stay longer than that. Pros: 24/7 access, very close to Lawrence West station, lots of cardio equipment, lots of free weights (75 lbs max on dumbbells), fair amount of weight machines, 30 min. circuit workout (for those tight on time) & friendly staff (7am-10pm) Cons: Limited change rooms (only 5 one person change rooms), small lockers, smelly washrooms, no water fountain, no showers and annoying background music (I actually zone out from it but friends at the gym complain that it's annoying) Other cons that are there but I can't blame the gym for: There are guys hitting on girls (it's a gym not a bar/club), people not putting the weights back in place (waste of time looking for them), people not cleaning equipment (it's especially nasty if you sweat like a pig) & guys not having leg days (it's a personal pet peeve, but still it looks disgusting for a buff guy to have chicken legs). read more

This is as cheap as it gets. You want a gym with minimal costs on a monthly basis. This is it! This is located in the Lawrence West Mall on the 2nd floor across from the Dollerama. It can be accessed through the mall by taking the escalator or through the commercial entrance using the elevator. The gym is quite large considering the price and has an array of cardio equipment, free weights, weight machines and free weight power racks. There is enough that everyone can do something comfortably and haven't noticed any lineups yet. I've been going for more than a month now, and while it is VERY frustrating that there is no water fountain, I've come to terms with it. There are no classes, no bonuses, change rooms situated on the perimeter. Bathrooms are a joke too. One stall and one urinal in the mens bathroom. Given that a gym has more than 50 people there at any given time, this is really a problem. But at this pricepoint I guess I have no right to complain. The equipment is about the same as you'd see in a Goodlife or YMCA so no issues of quality here. You will get a good workout in if you come in prepared to workout. There are some serious gymrats here too so it's a mix between newbies and gym regulars. The ages are spread too from young kids (16-19) to adults in their 40s and onwards. The two price points are $10/monthly paid upfront on an annual basis + a $25 joining fee (this fee is ridiculous. Akin to a normal gym's admin fee). You can't share your pass with anyone at this level. The next pricepoint is at $20/month and is month to month. This one you can share with family and friends (but only one person at a time). Good for families and couples that want to workout separately. I should stress that they insist that they need your bank account. Don't fall for this scam. Insist on using a credit card. That way you're protected in case you have to cancel. The credit card companies will have your back on this. If they get your bank account, you'll be billed with erroneous charges and the bank will be able to do nothing. Another thing that is a joke about this place is the insane prices for drinks. $1.00 - $4.00 for drinks when you can get them for 0.50 cents across the way at the dollar store. But they have to make money so I applaud them for attempting to. The single most annoying thing about this place is entry/exit. Has to be done one member at a time. I hate having to line up to enter or leave this place. They need a better solution to this. Despite all the negatives I posted, this sure as hell beats paying $60 to some other gym. Sure you get classes and a water fountain (unreal!) but who can resist a $10 membership. I'm sure at some point they will raise the prices as there are only so many members they can sign up. But until then, this is the cheapest place for a regular basic gym. read more

Great NO FRILLS gym! Enrolment is $25 and then it costs $10 per month with a one year commitment for the basic membership. You have a key card that allows for 24 hour access although it is only staffed from 7am to 10pm. Having said that, the front desk staff person cleans up and let's people in the door, but can't help with anything beyond that. There are no classes or showers. There are small single person change rooms around the perimeter and the lockers are in the main gym room. The equipment is clean and new and well kept up. The only things on my "cons" list is that is no water fountain (so I need to fill my water bottle in the bathroom) and there is no WiFi if you want to stream music or video. Other than those couple small things, I would recommend Fit4Less. read more

I just joined this gym and it's pretty basic for $10. No showers or water fountains, just some lockers, bathrooms and a whole bunch of equipment. The staff are pretty friendly and the gym itself has a pretty good vibe. It's great that it's open 24/7 and has it's own entrance for when the mall is closed. read more

It does the job. Good amount of treadmills and other machines. I used to have problems finding empty lockers, but the management seem to have fixed that problem. Don't expect extra features. For the price, is a good gym. Just as a suggestion for the management in case they read this... the changing rooms are very dirty during the weekends, it would be nice to have somebody taking care of that. read more

Now I have been to goodlife/YMCA and Fit4less across Toronto. There is a manager there around 45 who's name is James 5'9 Korean. I would like to let everyone know how much of a snake oil used car salesman he is. Some history on him and his history in Fitness Industry. He began as a sidekick with John Cardillo who was the Founder of Curzons Premier Fitness. Now Having worked for Premier and quitting I know how bad and dishonest their business practices were which is why I quit. I also knew John and worked at his Yorkdale location. HI, i have been using fit4less for a few years. it is good location for me and close to my apartment and its it. The quality of the gym equipment is very poor, they do have old machines from 20 years ago, looks like those have been taken from "good life fitness" - instead of utilizing them- very crappy. Best price I've ever heard of for any gym. If you buy a years membership it comes out to $10/month. Equipment and machines are fairly good. Gym can be waaaaaay too busy at times but I guess that's just the way it is. However, the amount of lockers available is wildly inadequate. Gym lacks the standard amenities like showers, classes, etc. change rooms are limited to five single stalls. Almost always have to wait to change as there are so few stalls for the entire gym population. Also, borderline criminal there isn't a water fountain here. The gym itself is great, if it matches what you are looking for. No Showers, Water Fountains, Classes, etc., but if are just coming to work out and going straight home it is perfect. For $10 you can't go wrong. It does get a bit crowded during staff hours, so it is perfect for those late nighters or early risers. There are plenty of weights and machines though. The only issue I have with this place, is that is attracts some of the worse gym customers. Only a handful of people take the time to re-rack weights, and return equipment to it's proper places. It's a common occurrence for people to take the dumbbells to a random corner, keep it to themselves and just get up and leave. You also have the complete opposite, who will grab the dumbbells and work right in front of the rack. So I signed up online, got my card, I was ready to work out. Then I can't get in the door cause unattended. Payed everything can't get in, either can another person just signed up then the janitor lets us in not before telling us to pay our bills. Then I'm working out do my cardio then need water have to fill in bathroom sink or buy water from them. Tried to fix my card 4 times got fed up and cancelled. Fit4less is a leach. My contract had ended 6 months ago and upon checking my bills i noticed they had been charging me past my contract end date. I called them to ask about this and the manager said "we sent you an email asking if you want to continue, and if you do not reply we automatically continue the contract and keep charging you monthly" upon checking my email i had only received the joining notice (believe me I searched for it). I first tried to cancel my membership at the club in Langley almost 2 years ago. I rarely used the account it comes out of, so I didn't notice that they just kept charging me. I falsely assumed they would be ethical. I tried a second time and was given an email of a manager. I explained that I'd already cancelled at the location and had been charged for a full year after that and would really appreciate if they would actually stop charging me. Still taking my money, so I went in again about a month and a half ago and was told that they no longer deal with cancelling at locations. I went on the website and cancelled again, I also said really didn't appreciate them basically stealing from me for almost 2 years. Just checked my account and they are still charging me. This company is terrible and steals from customers! For yellow membership it cost about with just entering the gym plus only a specific location and plus virtual fitness which black membership has all locations acess and also offer all anyone to use it to lending to someone. Good Life location has all acess location which for $60.00 and Towel includes for perium equipments. Plus what all Fit for offering and family discount. Fit for less is much more for without personal trainer , classes, also offer Towel and premium customer service. But Fit for less is for who don't care about classes , personal trainers , Towel which you can bring your own to work by yourself. I was GoodLife for member for 4 years and I was not going to classes and not getting personal trainer either and work out with just they had offered​. So why I chosed Fit for less I only used and bring my own towels and still go to the more for equipments and is also located in plazas and so I can also shop while not eating for perium stuff like but I still love GoodLife and will go back if I wanted go to classes. read more

This place is directly on my way to and from work. You can't get much more convenient than being straight across from a Subway station. The value is great. You can pay $10/month to have access to this one location or $20/month to have access to all the locations plus free unlimited tanning, a gym bag, a shirt, and the ability to let a friend borrow your pass whenever you aren't there. They have all the cardio machines, a lot of weight machines, free weights, and a separate 30-min express circuit for the time-crunched. It's 24 hours but the morning is the best time to go because everything is free and the incredible hulk guys aren't throwing free weights around. There are a few sacrifices for such a deal, though. There are no showers and there are no group classes. It's a gym you go to to work out, not for spa services or social mingling. The gym itself is great, I did have some problems with registering, though. The guy told me my card would work in 24 - 48 hours and it didn't. I went back and the lady told me he was supposed to "program it" and didn't. I don't know, seems like that's the kind of thing you want to remember to do. For 10$ a month this is a great deal. To start you pay a $25 starting fee and then its just 10$ a month. The gym is open 24hrs, I couldn't get clear info on how to access the gym when the mall is closed but I doubt I will be attending the gym in the late late evening. The gym itself has lots of equipment and areas you can weight train and stretch. The only downfall I found was that the washrooms are not kept very clean and not topped up with toilet paper. I also wish they had water fountains. But besides that this is a great deal. read more
