The lady my wife was with had major anxiety and felt very unsafe. Due to the fact that so many women have had bad encounters in their lives it is understandable how terrible this would feel. Of course when my wife went to management she was treated like garbage when it was brought up. The manager then asked this person what happened and in front of my wife and the other lady he lied and said that THEY had asked to see his junk. Nobody cares. They all think it's ok. Nobody gives a damn. A group of people that make up 1/2% of the population can dictate everything. How many of you husbands would be ok with someone walking up to your wife in a change room that has no cameras in it and asking her if she wanted to see his junk? This is ok? Then you go to management in the hope that you will be heard and you are treated like a card carrying member of the KKK. They were insanely rude and tried to make my wife feel like she was a bad person for feeling her own feelings. So I want to warn the ladies at the Y. You are not safe there. This will continue to happen and the management there encourages it. Be careful. Watch each others backs.

Then a friend brought me in for a free trial workout and though I left feeling exhausted, and really sweaty, I was hooked. Each and every time you walk through the door you know you will be completing a different, yet challenging, workout. The coaches are there to encourage and push you, but they can also help modify the workouts to accommodate people of all fitness levels. That is one of my favorite things about OTF-there are people there of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels, it is really a friendly, non-intimidating way of staying healthy and having fun! I always leave with a sweaty smile on my face, happy that I chose to make this change towards a healthier lifestyle.

The worst gym in Lethbridge…read more Filthiest place i have ever been in and thats coming from someone who has been in gym all over the world. No enforcement of wiping down equipment after use. Not enough staff to keep the mens change room clean and so soap is always out in the mens room. Used towels all over the floor in the mens room. Sanitizing spray bottles always empty and paper towels always out. Even the Personal Trainers do not clean the equipment as they are teaching. I am sorry, i ever signed on at this place. Have never had health issues before, but now i have skin condition contracted from this place. Stay away from this place at all costs!!!!! Looking for a new gym in Lethbridge, even if i have to buy out the contract i will do that, just to get away from this place.

The 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport & Wellness at the University of Lethbridge is a…read morecomprehensive sport and recreation centre that features a fitness centre, climbing centre, aquatic centre, recreation facility, sports stadium, a triple gymnasium, multipurpose studios and an indoor running track I haven't used all their facilities but I have used the fitness centre, the aquatic centre, gymnasium and indoor track multiple times. The "Vita Sana" Fitness Centre is definitely my all-time favorite gym, it has a comprehensive assortment of equipment, is well organized and maintained, and the staff are well trained and qualified. Some gyms are bigger, have way more equipment that is more modern as well (like the gym I go to in Calgary), but bigger isn't always better. At my usual gym things are always a mess; equipment is everywhere, people rarely wipe down machines after use and the staff rarely clean/maintain the gym. People at the Vita Sana Fitness Centre actually respect the gym and equipment, and they clean up after themselves. Plus the staff rarely clean/maintain the gym. Not only that, but their desk is right on the floor and they're always willing to help or give advice, and they're qualified to it! Although they don't have the best and brightest equipment their balance with the facility itself and the staff make them the best gym I've been to. There are term locker rentals as well, which eliminates the need to lug around your gear all the time. There are towel rentals and guest lockers as well. Prices are affordable with discount for students, alumni, family, other post-secondary, youth and senior. You have to pay for parking but evenings and weekends are free, and a parking pass is included with full-time membership. It can definitely get busy at times, but there are also a lot of downtimes. One thing I really enjoy is how seamless it is to expand your workout to other areas of the Centre. The indoor track is right above the gym and includes its own cardio equipment. The gymnasium is immediately next to it as is one of the multi-purpose studios and the climbing wall. You can also rent equipment like balls or rackets from the front desk. The aquatic facility is linked to the same locker room as the gym as well, so going from one to the other is effortless! There is also a sauna to relax in. They University of Lethbridge's Sport & Wellness centre is your one-stop shop for recreation! It's a great place to get in a workout, play some sports or team games and unwind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone :), cheers!
