I went to their free women's self defense seminar and got an amazing workout, so they convinced me to buy a package deal 12 classes for $350. It took me a few months to use it due to the distance from my home and work schedule. When I was ready to start using the classes I was surprised to find out they expired thankfully I was given no trouble at all and my classes were reactivated. The workouts are legit and you will sweat like you never thought you could all the while learning self defense. The environment is friendly and welcoming. I found Stephan classes to be the least intimidating. I like that they have dummies to practice the moves on. Overall highly recommend this place. I would have continued if it wasn't so far down town. read more

After an annoying train incident, I attended the free women's self defense class that I happened to see online, not knowing what I was going to get into. I was surprised by how detailed the seminar was, as the knowledgeable instructor started off with a presentation of the dangerous realities of living in NYC as a woman, followed by how Fit Hit is changing this for us. The free seminar got me interested in taking more classes, and their regular classes are indeed very similar to the structure of the free seminar. We start off with warm ups, and they are shockingly intensive, especially if you aren't active. Good thing their fire playlists get me through them. After that, they go into detail in teaching you some combat moves and combos using the male dummies. My favorite part is when we get into pairs with someone of similar size and practice exercises on each other. They are so fun! I am always impressed by the different ideas they came up with each time I went! Towards the end of the session, they teach you a self defense move and break down the steps on how to execute it. The studio itself was very nice and spacious, with a locker showers area, and even a place to lounge and wait around. My only comments is the place didn't feel very clean, with the gloves and black pads emanating a bad stench. Everyone really does work up a sweat every class though! Fit Hit's instructors and assistants were some of the most passionate I've seen, so their marketing is also strong in wanting you to be a member after trying out any free class. But ultimately, the price is expensive, so I will just continue to recommend this place to my friends! read more

Took a 1-1 intro, group intro class and a mental resiliency training. The studio is seriously awesome, they've clearly put a lot of effort into the place. The instructor for my 1-1, Natali, was super helpful and made me feel comfortable taking my first class. The front-desk, Jane made everything very seamless. The group intro class was awesome, I got paired with another guy and got a great workout in, along with learning a superman punch. Finally, the mental resiliency class with Matan the founder was excellent (and apparently also free). Currently traveling overseas but once I'm back in New York I'm definitely coming back. read more

A great place to do your exercise and learn basic self defense technique. Evening and weekend classes can be pretty packed, but so far there's always enough dummies for everyone. Classes are really enjoyable. read more

Aside from the satirical bad advise, sexism and drama; it was not such a bad time. LGBQT friendly. It's a McGym and you're their crop.

I am a female senior citizen who has been harassed for nearly three years by my next-door neighbor who screams at my door, sometimes daily, preventing me from leaving - or from going into my apartment if I come in from outside and he is already there. I was looking for a class to give me some tips to empower me to finally move past him and not be a prisoner anymore, and to give me confidence when I have to walk by his door. Fit Hit has given me that and much more. So far I have taken five sessions of the Level 1 class with Philip. I recommend this class for anyone at any stage of fitness. Most of the participants are much younger than me and seem to attend more frequently, but I am always learning and have always felt welcome. Sometimes Ryan, a coach who is participating in the class, comes over to give me a tip, which I really appreciate. I'm saying this class is good for a range of levels of fitness and expertise. I am a teacher and a trainer myself, and I can tell you that the Fit Hit training approach is very well thought-out and effective. The class is in constant motion, starting with a demanding run doing various arm movements. People can pass you if you're too slow or you can modify (which I do). Then Philip teaches different self defense moves that the students practice on big dummies, all named Bob. Philip breaks down every activity, first demonstrating the move, then deconstructing it step by step, and then having the students go through a vigorous practice. Then you do partner work; then you learn and practice a new "escape." Throughout the class, Philip comes around giving people corrections and assistance. (I assume other Level 1 classes are similar.) Fit Hit has some introductory sessions that you can find on their website and you can rent gloves for $2 a shot. Everyone who works there is friendly and welcoming. I'm glad I found Fit Hit. I leave every class feeling more safe and comfortable with my situation. read more

I joined KMA for the 6 week challenge and was very skeptical of the offer. (Spoiler alert: I hit my goal of losing 6% body fat) Were the pictures photoshopped? Did they hire models? I was unsure about all of it. But with a little ounce of hope, I went in for the consultation and ended up signing up for the challenge. The classes were fun and empowering- they really emphasize how important safety is for females in New York, and I loved taking the women-only classes with Ryan. Other favorite instructors: Adolfo and Sherman. The hardest part: the meal plan! I have never tried following one, but I credit the meal plan to a lot of my success! The no alcohol part was hard and definitely had an impact on my social life, but the results were worth it. In the end, I lost 6.4% body fat and 15 lbs! I'll attach my before and after pics below too. If you're thinking about it, I encourage you to join! read more

I took a class here through ClassPass and had a lot of fun. All the reviews are either so polarizing or seem fake, so I'll give you the skinny. Trust me, I'm Yelp Elite. Sherman was the instructor and he was truly awesome. He was hilarious, consistently open to questions, knew his stuff inside and out, and was able to give every single person attention in a large class. The people were of all levels, including beginners, intermediate, or fresh-off-the-IDF-boat advanced. You don't stop moving in class. You do a bunch of warmup moves, then some workout to get a good sweat going, then jump into learning two to three Krav Maga steps, which you practice with a partner. It's very basic stuff. It's barefoot, so just wear workout clothes and bring water. Gloves are $2 there. The locker room situation is pretty bad. Don't expect to shower or anything. There's just one bathroom and some cubbies. I believe they're undergoing construction, so hopefully, this improves soon. read more

I began the Krav Maga 6-week challenge on April 22, 2019 and I made my goal almost a week before the 6 weeks was over! Being consistent, focused, and disciplined for these past 6-weeks was key. I never missed a class and was very disciplined with my meal plan. The Krav Maga instructors and assistant instructors are motivating! Ryan and Sherman were my main instructors and they rocked! Each hour-long class had me SWEATING in the first 3 minutes and it's a workout like I've never experienced! The instructors mix each class up to keep them challenging and the key self-defense techniques that I learned are invaluable! Keeping everyone safe during class is their top priority along with making sure we exert our maximum effort! It's a mix of calisthenics, self-defense and partner/group activities. Ryan teaches an amazing women's only class which I went to 2x a week. Her enthusiasm for each of us to get stronger, own our strength and be confident in this self-defense technique is palpable. She always checks in with the class to bring us specific self-defense scenarios that women may face, which are so helpful. Sherman kept me accountable in class when he put me in the front row to make sure I was giving it my all every time! That made a huge difference in helping me loss that final body fat percent. All of my fellow classmates were so nice, welcoming and encouraging. There is a sense of community at Krav Maga and such positive energy from the instructors. I recommend the classes, it has been a great experience! I think what I've gained from this challenge and classes is more confidence in my ability to protect myself if a self-defense situation arises. I've developed more disciple to workout at a more intense level and to constantly challenge my limits! read more

Before Christmas, I came across a Facebook ad that touted losing 25 pounds in 6 weeks with three work outs a week, a personalized meal plan, and an accountability coach. I had some appointments in the city, so I decided to go in for the meeting. Now, I used to be the queen of the "at-home" workout. Beachbody really got me through. Years ago, I did P90X, Insanity, and until recently, T25, on the regular. I never liked the idea of working out in a class setting, mostly because there's no pause button, but also because I didn't know how people would take to me hoopin' n hollerin' and cussing up a storm. Well... the sales pitch was convincing. I knew that I needed to switch things up, as T25 wasn't really getting me there anymore, and I was clearly becoming an overweight person. I realized that I am at a point in my life where if I don't make some drastic changes NOW, I will continue to add permanent poundage and solidify my chances of not being able to break my bad habits. That extra few pounds a year seemed to be multiplying to an extra 5 (permanent) pounds every year! So, I decided that it would be worth it for me to gamble with my deposit and start the New Year off with a drastic new approach. I was challenged to lose 6% body fat in 6 weeks. It sounded more doable to me than losing 25 pounds, so I went for it. Well... I started on Wednesday 1/2/2019. I took my third class the following Monday and had already dropped 7 pounds. (I know that people say that this was just water weight. If you're overweight, you don't give a crap if it's water weight, or gas... the scale doesn't lie!) Some people on the challenge lose a lot in the beginning. Others lose it later. But if you stick with the meal plan they provide you and REALLY PUSH YOURSELF in the classes, YOU WILL SEE RESULTS. The instructors are great! As I said, I never took work out classes before. Matan, Sherman, Adolfo, Ryan (female), and Rich will PUSH you, but they are also extremely kind and supportive, as are most of the students in the classes. What could be an extremely intimidating environment, is actually a very loving and familial feeling space. Even Steven, at the front desk helped me get through. I'd speak more of the work outs, but I'm still at a loss for how I'm able to wake up at the crack of dawn to put myself through this. Honestly, I had some serious moments of prayer the first few weeks (and still), to get me through the classes. (If I hadn't have paid a deposit, there's NO WAY I would have shown up to the second class. No. Way.) You are not only learning a skill that you may need to use someday, but the cardio and endurance aspect of the workouts is really the secret to your body and mind shifting. I had NEVER been able to follow the meal plans with any other workout, and because of this challenge, I'm learning in real time (I bought my own scale) how eating different nutrients and/or junk food affects my weight. It's one thing to be told that sugar affects your weight. It's another (to lose your mind once you get off the challenge and binge on all of the crap that you couldn't eat for 6 weeks, in two days) to see the effects ingesting these items has on your body composition, in real time. Anyway.... I WON the challenge!!! I lost exactly 6% body fat and 24 pounds!!! It was VERY challenging. But honestly, if I hadn't have won the challenge, the changes and new habits that have been formed would have been worth it to me. But let's be real, if someone could PROMISE you that you would lose over 20 pounds in six weeks, and make life changing habits around food and exercise (first off, you wouldn't believe them), BUT how much would it be worth to you, if it were possible??? IT IS POSSIBLE!!! Epilogue... I will continue to "train" at KMA and Matan will continue holding me accountable to a more relaxed version of the personalized nutrition plan that he originally created for me. read more

So this place is all about what your expectations are. Are you coming here for an incredible HIIT workout? Or are you wanting to learn self defense and how to fight? If you are looking for an incredible HIIT workout, this is the place for you. Think of a cardio-kickboxing class, and that's what you have here. You will not be corrected on form, you will not be taught how to throw a punch or land a kick correctly, but you will sweat and your heart will be pounding. The problem for me is, I want to learn self defense, but I was basically informed I can't do so (move up a level, where they actually teach you self defense) until my conditioning is better. I'm in the gym 5 days per week. I run twice per week. Walk 35 miles+ per week and have 10% body fat, but I'm not conditioned well enough to learn a few moves to protect myself on the subway? I need to be able to make it through a 60 minute class? Why? Because my fights on the streets are going to go 12 rounds? The whole point of Krav Maga is to be able to defend yourself and then get out of a situation as quickly as possible, is it not? So while im taking weeks and weeks to get in condition, I better hope and pray someone doesn't come at me with a knife on the street in the meantime? Yeah, no. I'll just go somewhere else read more

I joined Krav Maga through their 6 weeks challenge. First of all I was very skeptical going in but I left my appointment signed up. I was provide a meal plan and 3 times per week class. It was the best Decision I made. This has been an amazing journey for me. I have gain so much from this challenge. It has taught me mindful eating instead of just eating without a care. Self discipline is what I have learned. And I'm healthier and I have have more stamina' and the fittest I have ever been. The classes are amazing. I have learned a lot and I have sweat a lot. But after a class I go home and sleep very soundly. The trainers Jay, Sherman, Victoria and Adolfo . All have their own unique style of teaching It was hard but nothing comes easily in like. If you put in the work you will see the results. I stuck to the meal plan except for twice but I put in the extra work the next day My goal was to loose 25 lbs or 6% body fat WELL I DID IT!!!!!! At my last weigh in I was down 26.4 lbs and 8% body fat. I hit it on both!! I feel so great right now!! This challenge has been amazing. I gained a lot and I will incorporate everything in my everyday life beyond this challenge. The staff are all friendly and helpful read more

I found this place through a facebook post for a 6-week challenge. It was advertised as free in the name of self-promotion. A very hyper instructor introduces you to the program and promises body fat and or weight loss/increase. For $600, NOT FREE. Felt a little like a car sales, put you in a small room, talk fast and tell you buy now or the deal is off the table. I should have listened to my instincts and walked away, but I didn't. I've since then seen that they promote this all the time and the so called 40 people is basically only limited to who can pay. Anyway I fell for it and now I'm sh*t outta luck. While the classes are not bad, no better or worse than most exercise oriented self-defense/martial arts classes. The techniques may be valid, but no one walking out of there from these classes alone (maybe if you PAID more for private lessons, which they encourage after every class) would every really be able to defend themselves. The nutritional recommendations and meal plans were generic. The support at times rude, other times not truly helpful, mostly says do what the plan says. Oh and they suggest you BUY lots of supplements. My fault for not taking unforeseen health problems into account, since I did fully intend to finish the program. I offered to continue the program if they can offer me a safe alternative for my health and I was more than willing to provide any necessary documentation and in addition fulfill my half of the promotional aspect of the program. (But who knows what obstacles stand in the way of a full refund even if I did finish). They of course refused a full refund. I hope that no one else falls for this unless they planned to part with their money anyway. Now I have 2 expected expenses to pay for. read more

A Comprehensive Review of Krav Maga NYC and the 6 Week Challenge If you don't want to read everything: This gym is a genuinely fun place to work out and you will learn a lot about self defense and strength conditioning in the classes. You are likely lose a lot of body fat and see an amazing body transformation with the 6 week challenge provided you stick to the regimen. Just be prepared that you may not reach your goal and you may end up paying $600 for the program. ---------------------- The Specifics: The Krav Maga gym offers an exciting body transformation program that boasts of hundreds of success stories through its intense workouts and an equally (if not more) challenging diet regimen. The stipulation you will not be immediately aware of prior to the consultation is that there are two options to this challenge: A.) THE FREE VERSION: You receive the dietary information, workout videos, and resources to lose weight, all for free. You cannot attend the Krav Maga classes, and you won't have coaches to be in touch with on a weekly basis to ask dietary questions. This kind of regimen is something I would recommend for a very disciplined individual who has already begun dietary changes and just wants resources to assist them in understanding portion sizes and daily protein/carb/veggie breakdowns. B.) THE $600 VERSION: You put down a $600 dollar deposit, which you get back provided you reach a weight loss/muscle gain goal given to you by the trainers after they weigh you. You attend 3 classes of Krav Maga a week, and you get to message the trainers with questions about food and what you are eating. The trainers check in with you every week to see photos of what you are eating. 3 weeks in, you get a 1 on 1 meeting with a trainer to understand your progress and potentially increase workouts in order to keep progressing. You must weigh in every week before your first workout to track your progress. IS THE $600 PROGRAM WORTH IT: Are you very concerned about getting your money back? Perhaps consider the first option - The trainers give you a challenging goal, and not everyone succeeds. Everyone has a different body type and there are wildly varied responses to the diet. No matter what weight loss/muscle gain program you sign up for, you can't expect equal results amongst everyone. Granted, the gym does a consistent job of tailoring goals per individual. My set goal was to lose 6% of my body fat, which from what I understand, is a more common goal set for participants. There are stories of people meeting their goals with or without supplements, and there are also stories of people sticking religiously to the diet and workout regimens and falling short in the end. It's best to know that you do take a risk with this program and may end up paying the $600. If you stick religiously to the diet and workout regimen, regardless of reaching your goal, your body is very likely to respond positively. You will feel stronger and leaner even if you don't reach your goal. It is a very effective program in the sense that you can expect amazing results and learn a lot about nutrition and fitness. Before you put your deposit down, decide if you are willing to invest this money in a weight loss program. If you aim put your money down with full expectation to get it all back, consider the first (free) option instead. A $600 weight loss program with the resources and classes is a relatively reasonable deal. The Krav Maga classes cost around $30 individually, and they are very creative and engaging. You get a chance to join a fighting self-defense gym and see if it's a good fit for you in the long term before investing in a monthly subscription. You will learn self defense techniques and get a substantial workout in as well. You can message the coaches every day to ask questions about food. Your trainers do care about you and they do want to see you progress. There is a great support group available in the gym and online to get you through the 6 weeks. When it comes to weight loss, you are much much more likely to succeed when doing it alongside others versus alone. This is the ideal environment to lose weight, which is what has led to the gym's success rate in body transformations. IF YOU SIGNED UP FOR THE $600 6 WEEK CHALLENGE: Do not cheat. Do not in any way deviate from the diet. In fact, I cut out certain aspects of the diet that are allowed because they slowed me down (namely gluten and fruit). Consider speaking to a nutritionist or a dietician outside of the gym - get an understanding for what your body is individually outside of the gym. If you're going to take 6 weeks to invest in your body, now is a good time to really understand what your individual body needs that others may not. Your coaches can only tell you so much - make sure you're aware of what your body needs by speaking to a health specialist. read more

This gym with their "Free Fitness Challenge" is a SCAM! I saw a Facebook ad about this "free fitness challenge", looking for people who want to transform their body for free. I click through on it and see a very sales-like page. I make an appointment and it turns out to be at a local martial arts gym in New York City (where I am based) called "Krav Maga Academy". When I show up, there are many participants there as well. We get weighed and after quite a bit of waiting, we are led on a brief tour. We then get shuffled into a small room where they run us through a Powerpoint sales pitch. The pitch consists of telling stories of past participants who changed their life and how their system is the only one that works. Something about 3 pillar system and how they're the only ones to do it. Then the sales woman does a lot of hyping up where you're supposed to raise your hand to show enthusiasm and she questioned why I didn't look excited. Near the end of the presentation, she brings up that she wants a "deposit" of $600 that will be returned to you if you hit your goals. Then she goes around the group and makes arbitrary goals for each person. I was told to gain 10 lbs (I'm currently 130 lbs and my body type stays relatively around that weight for years... I've never been 140 lbs ever!). We were also told that she needs a yes or not "today". I think it was weird how she wanted me to gain 10 lbs but another participant to gain only 5 lbs, so I negotiate her down to 7 lbs gain. Right as I'm about to sign the contract, she adds in an extra condition! 7 lbs weight gain AND body fat under 7%. I negotiate her up to 8% but that's still crazy since there's no way I'm 7% body fat. Then she says she can't answer any more questions since she has another appointment but we need to let her know today. Talk about high pressure sales tactics! I ended up signing at the last minute, but then realized my mistake! I asked some fitness friends and they informed me why that goal was unfair and impossible. Firstly, gaining 7 lbs in a short time without gaining any fat is near impossible. Secondly, inaccuracy of the scale to measure bodyfat makes it very risky since it could fluctuate and there's no margin for error. In fact, I "gained" 0.2% body fat in 20 minutes between the first measure and when I asked for a re-measure... a fluctuation that would've made me lose the challenge (and $600). Therefore I got scammed! I immediately send an email the same night asking for a refund but they don't reply. It's not until I find out they're legally obligated to refund me if I send a certified letter within 3 days and actually send that letter that they finally refund me. They were also supposed to by law let me know there about that cooling off period but they didn't. Their contract also says no refunds :| Good thing I found out about that New York law and sent them a certified letter demanding my refund! read more

Went to the Street Awareness seminar. Was really great. Good information and great energy. Highly recommend. My teen took a few months of classes (six?) a while back and learned useful skills as well as increased his self-confidence. I'll be back for the Women's Self Defense. :-) read more

I entered their 6-week challenge skeptical, but figured I might as well give it a try, and was honestly blown away. The classes were challenging and fun, and most importantly they (in combination with the diet guidance they provided me) lead to quick and real changes in my body and in my performance. Within a couple of weeks I was leaner and faster. My goal (31 y/o Male) was to lose 3% body fat (started at 16.7%). I ended up at 12%, losing close to 5%. On top of the fitness achievement, I felt like the classes provided a really solid base for level 1 Krav Maga. They got me very excited to continue learning about and growing the self-defense practice. Highly recommend! In particular Sherman whoops your ass, but all are great. Also really enjoyed classes with Adolfo and Jay. read more

The best choice I could have made in my fitness journey, period. This gym will require you to work hard and put in the right choices to see results and all the trainers are there for students 110%. I have been training at KMA for over 4 years and I obviously love it. I have not found a better more challenging warmup followed up with realistic and usable self-defense techniques. With every class you learn a technique that you can use right away to keep yourself, your friends, or your family safe. The challenge, the workout with intent, and the confidence that comes from being able to defend yourself is an invaluable skill I think everyone should have. The staff is fantastic and they (tough) love everyone of their students. They may yell, challenge, and try to 'scare' you but it is out of genuine care that you get the most that you can out of every class. Every staff member wants every student to be safe inside and outside of KMA regardless of the situation. Be safe. Train hard. Get better every day. Learn a skill you hopefully never have to use! read more

As being a former boxer, ex military, and earning a black belt in Kuk Sool Won where I had to teach 1200 hrs of classes as well the workouts are a great mix of cardio and stand up combinations that exhaust me to my fullest. I joined Krav Maga Academy as part of the 6 week challenge and highly recommend it. As part of the challenge I had to follow a strict nutrition plan and take 3 classes a week. My goal for attending the classes was to tone up but I got so much more out of the experience... The trainers are all fantastic, they know what they're talking about and they really care about you getting it right. They are very supportive in your development. They make sure you're getting it right technically and they care about you reaching your goals. They switch things up in the classes so that they don't feel repetitive which is a major plus as it meant that the classes went by in a flash. Not only are the classes a great work out but you also learn very practical techniques that you can use to protect yourself if god forbid anything happens to you out there! I made significant progress in getting toned during the challenge. I lost 2.3% body fat during the 6 weeks even though I fell ill for some of it. I started with 18.7% and ended on 16.4%. Unexpectedly, I also learnt a lot about nutrition. I always thought I had a healthy balanced diet and never realized I wasn't eating enough protein!! My nutrition has changed forever. Originally, I signed up as a temporary kick start to my winter fitness but I've been balled over by this place. As a result, I've now signed up for membership starting next year. I've really enjoyed the experience and I can't wait to go back!!! read more

Love the trainers. Hate the management. I paid a 1k deposit upfront for a gym challenge I was only able to do in person for a few ( maybe 3) weeks. Unfortunately the online classes are not even comparable to the in person training and amenities. This program included a meal plan, 2 classes a day, and constant coaching with weight loss and body fat tracking with a machine they have in their office. I haven't been able to use any of the additional aspects and have received zero personalized training or coaching outside of it online or in person. Shame because the concept was great in person. This company, now known as Fit Hit, has no understanding of a global pandemic. They closed their doors per government requirements. Anyone who paid for private lessons and moved away was not reimbursed. I only had time to use 3 sessions with my daughter. I paid for 10. They owe me $1400 in session and will not reimburse me. We moved away, will not be back and cannot use any more sessions. It's not like we only had 2 left, there are 7 sessions left. They do not care about what is going on in the world. They said they do not care if I post this. They are just money grubbers. Do not go to this facility. O stars for compassion, understanding, caring about humans or caring about being a good business. I see other reviews also indicate they run a scam. read more

I took the Friday morning women's class. Ryan (female) and Paige were great instructors. It was my first time there but I felt welcome once the class started. The music was perfect for the cardio components of the class and the partner games we played at the end were a lot of fun! I feel much more confident in my self-defense skills with the few combinations we practiced. I could definitely sense there is a sense of community among the women and I would definitely take the women's class again. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I wasn't informed when i purchased the class that I had to bring any equipment (MMA gloves) so I had to rent sweaty smelling gloves once I arrived. Also the guy at the front desk was being extra sales-y and didn't seem genuinely excited to be there. read more

Love this place!! All started back in December 2018 when I randomly came across this pop-up ad on Facebook with a super fit girl on the background inviting to join a Krav Maga challenge and see how you could transform your body (and mind, as I later found out) in six short weeks. I've been a gym member for years by now, but for some reason that never grew any addictive on me and after a couple of days, or weeks at its best, of a good sweaty work out there was always a reason to take a break. When I saw the Academy and its 6 weeks challenge offer, that sort of hit me... I wanted to get back on track. I wanted to get fit, disciplined and motivated! Yesterday was last day of my challenge, and I couldn't be more proud with what I've been able to pull off -- 17 pounds (and 4,5% body fat) lost! I started with 140 pounds and went all the way to 123. I had 20.1% body fat and cut it all the way to 15.5%. Big shout-out to all the coaches who helped me along the way - Jay, Sherman, Victoria... they all are amazing! Make you literally work your butt off from a second you begin your class and continue going non-stop next 60 minutes. No breaks. No time to chill off. No chit chats. When you feel you're almost done and can't catch a breath any longer, they hit you with 30-30-30 ... and you're left to push it through. You guys are seriously first ones who make me learn and almost enjoy how to progress through push ups and all the other stuff, which a while back seemed way to "hardcore" for me. Plus, you never know what will happen in class - you could chose to stick to one coach but most of the warm ups, drills, combinations still will be different. That's a big fun factor, bc those guys will always find the way to challenge you in a surprising way and that's definitely something I've never been able to find in a gym. Oh yeah - the last not the least - they program comes with a balanced nutrition plan which helps you to push through by choosing the right food and learning to control your calories and fat intake. read more

I attended a free women's self-defense class and it was awesome. I was excited to attend to learn some basic skills for self-defense now that I'm living in the city and crime against women are constantly being reported. The place is very nice, the lady at the front desk has a bit of an attitude but was helpful and provided gloves upon entry. We were taken down to the lower floor to this big space filled with dummies for us to practice. Our instructor was the founder of the academy, Matan Gavish. He walked us through an overview of the crime happening and the types of assaults. Once that was done, it was right into action. Started off with some warm up exercises and then went into the actual self-defense techniques. He was awesome at explaining the right positioning and his assistant was also assisting anyone that needed help. I looooved punching the dummies LOL, it was a great way to release stress while also learning important skills. Awesome place with lovely people. read more

I did the 16-week program and it's amazing. Very well-rounded emphasis on fitness and nutrition and I've developed some habits, including meal-planning and goal-setting. My goal was to lose 5 pounds and I lost ten thanks to the accountability aspect. The trainers respect all comers, regardless of gender, which is different from other martial arts places I've trained in NYC. I'm training online only due to my new location and it's been great. read more

This was an amazing 6 weeks program at KMA (it was hard work), but well worth it!!! I would definitely recommend this to a friend. The instructors/coaches were amazing, focused, knowledgeable and inspiring. They provided me with the right meal plan to meet my goal - each step of the way (thank you Coach Jay!!!). I attended classes from coaches Sherman and Jay as it worked out with my work schedule (both are amazing instructors). I did not miss any class and followed my meal plan at all times. Needless to say the sessions were very intense but at the same time very instructional, I learned a tremendous amount of techniques in a short time. I completed my 6 weeks KMA challenge and beat my goal. I dropped 4.1% body fat and I feel amazing! Thank you KMA-to all the amazing staff and instructors! read more

Jay is awesome. The workout is balanced and includes upper body, lower body and core exercises along with Krav Maga techniques. The work intervals provide enough intensity to reach/extend the limit for increasing cardio strength. Highly recommend! read more

If you want to transform your lifestyle, gain lean muscle, and/or lose weight, this is the best class for you. I did the 6 Weeks challenge where my goal was to gain 4 Lb muscle whilst keeping body fat constant, and I ended up gaining 6 Lb. They have a very comprehensive diet plan that you are encouraged to follow. The trainers are all fantastic, they push you to the extreme and are very friendly. Different trainers have different styles, so you learn something new every class. It is a great combination of cardio, muscle, and techniques. I feel quite confident I can take down anybody on the street if I were attacked. In general, my lifestyle, eating habit, and health have improved a lot. I feel a lot more confident and active now. I'd highly recommend this to everybody. It is totally worth it. read more

The Krav Maga Academy is life-changing! These group classes are challenging and very fun! I quickly felt my body changing after a few classes like my muscles getting stronger, my balance is definitely a thousand percent improved, and even my ambitions for a healthier lifestyle have evolved tremendously. Literally every class makes me feel stronger and better! Ex:// I went from not being able to do a single pushup to now being able to do more than I can count within a 1-hour class! The trainers are completely amazing at encouraging you! They switch up the workouts to keep your body going without making you feel like quitting which is super super important to me. My personal favorite instructors are Viktoria and Ryan! Both really badass ladies who make the overall experience so amazing! I 10/10 recommend taking classes at Krav Maga Academy!! read more

Do not waste your money on this business. They do not care about their clients at all and steal your money. Krav Maga Academy / fit hit owes me $1400 that they took during the pandemic while the gym was closed. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE. Go to honest people who care about you like Rob and Randy at Gotham Gym on Washington St. I will not stop until I get my money back... even if I have to lawyer up. read more

Lost 20lb in 5 weeks, 28 lb in 2 months and still sticking to their meal plan :) At the beginning I was very skeptical joining their 60 day challenge but boy was I happy that I did after seeing the fat melting away shortly after the first week in the program. GO Krav Maga!! Everyone is very nice and helpful, instructors are great in kicking your butt ;) nobody will look at you funny like at most gyms I went to because we were all here for the same reason - winning our challenge, reaching our goal. If you really fallow the meal plan ( no cheating) as well as the exercise routine, you will definitely see the results! I wish I can continue . Miss U already. read more

I emailed this place for a refund due to sth that was caused by them. Guess what!? It has been more than a month since the first email I sent them. I've not yet received a response!! Ru kidding me!? read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. High pressure sales tactics and refusing to let you out of an agreement even with a note from the doctor stating that you cannot physically do the exercise (flare up of old injuries) and begging them not to charge your card because you've lost your job. These people are AWFUL read more

The front desk REFUSED to tell us what the program was about when we showed up for the 6 week program consultation, instead told us to come back the next day for a half hour long explanation with several other people. Would not confirm if the program was actually free as advertised. Tried to ask about the $600 fee as other reviewers have mentioned, but they would not tell us. Generally when people want to sign up for something, you should be able to pitch them a program in a few minutes. Very mysterious and strange. read more
