They have a special for new customers, $49 for 50 minutes. Sure, it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The therapist that worked on me was friendly and very informative. She started me with an overhead squat and this analyzed my MAPS (an acronym I can't for the life of me remember what every letter stands for). It was an informative screening of my posture, ambulation and strength. From there, we went to a stretching table. It was a good stretch and thankfully not too painful! I enjoyed it so much I did sign up for a membership, which is $299 for 4 sessions each month. I'm really looking forward to seeing some results going here.

If you have not done any hot exercise (hot yoga, etc) in the past, you may not feel great after your first workout - but that's because the toxins are leaving your body! Bring plenty of water (in a closely container, no open straws!) and a towel. They provide special heat resistant mats for the isometric classes (Pilates, barre, yoga just to name a few), and also offer high intensity classes such as cycling or rowing. I had a great experience doing the barre class. There is a virtual instructor on the screen guiding you through the poses. You can also schedule your own sessions via the mobile app - it's very easy to either schedule solo visits or with up to 2 friends in the same class. Also a benefit: 24 hour access to members, to fit their individual needs. Definitely a great place to promote your health and sweat it out!

But here, you get so much for what you pay! They have tons of classes at a variety of times. My go-to's are kettlebells and Tabata--they're such killer workouts but in the best way. Plus, they're super helpful if you need modifications--they just want you to feel good and do your best. And even though this is one of the smaller YMCAs, the vibe is always friendly and welcoming.
