Yuri comes directly from Krav Maga royalty with training straight from Israel, and the quality of his instruction shows immediately. He taught us proper fighting stance, how to break out of different chokeholds, and how to prevent a fight before it starts. Everything felt practical, real-world, and surprisingly easy to learn under his guidance. The session was so good that we all agreed to attend weekly lessons. If you want real Krav Maga taught by someone world-class, go see Yuri. Highly recommend.

They are completely invested in your success, and will continually challenge you, because they care enough to ensure that you are prepared to handle any situation on the street. I really like Yuri, Gal, Jonathan (Asian guy), the two Asian ladies (Jackie & ing? they are tough as nails, sorry can't remember all names). Big shout out to ownership and everyone involved in Krav Maga OC for their guidance, support, and inspiration! I've been into self defense since I can remember. I have my guns, my knives, etc... that said, l needed to learn Krav Maga... ESPECIALLY during these unfortunately CRAZY TIMES as antisemitism is at an all time high. This little Jewish lady was not raised to be a victim! Anyhow, i have been practicing defending with knives at home, spend quite a bit of time shooting at the range, etc... but having the tools and skills stated above would be more beneficial with some Krav Maga training... being attacked on the street is a completely different experience when you're dealing with an attacker in real life than in a controlled environment. I want to be prepared just in case G-D forbid I have to implement these techniques in real life. I truly look forward to learning more and refining my skills. That being said, I highly recommend Krav Maga OC. Yuri, his team, and those who are in my classes continue to impress me with their deep reservoir of knowledge and talent. Todah Rabah!

His passions for martial arts, his passion for teaching is incredible. He is an immensely patient teacher/coach, who always strives to bring out the best in his students. Be it a personal (1:1) session, or be it a group class, he pays attention to all his students and guides them every step of the way. There hasn't been a single training session where I haven't learned something new or improved a technique. His knowledge for martial arts (several of them!!) Is unmatched. Although not all his students are fighters, he treats them like fighters which not only strengthens our skill set, but also empowers everyone. I am forever grateful and lucky to have a coach like Craig. Its extremely hard to put in a few words how much Craig is valued and respected. So i highly recommend to go and find out for yourself!!

Even…read morethough they typically accept new members by referral only, I was fortunate enough to get an evaluation and earn a spot--and I couldn't be happier that I did. I've been training here for about a month now, and the experience has been exceptional across the board. First, the facility is completely immaculate. The owner takes immense pride in keeping everything clean and ensures all members follow strict cleanliness rules, which makes training here a real pleasure. The workouts are undeniably tough, but you leave every session feeling refreshed and invigorated and knowing you truly got something out of your training. What sets the instruction apart is the attention to detail; the owner takes the time to thoroughly explain the concepts and mechanics behind every exercise. It may feel methodical but it really is the best way to learn something and retain that knowledge. I feel like I'm learning the art of boxing. On top of the incredible coaching and clean environment, the community itself is top-tier. The other members have been warm, welcoming, and completely inclusive from day one. I am extremely fortunate to have found this dojo and am thankful for being a member.

I've been training at Hamabe Dojo for less than a month, and I've really enjoyed it so far…read more I tried another boxing gym before this, but it felt too focused on cardio and general exercise. A lot of the class was conditioning that didn't feel directly related to learning boxing. Hamabe Dojo is very different. You still get a good workout and definitely feel tired after class, but most of the training is built around actual boxing skills and technique. I'm a complete beginner with no previous boxing experience, and the instructor has been really good about teaching me the fundamentals and correcting the small details. He's very knowledgeable, patient, and pays attention to proper technique. I honestly feel like I learn several times more in one class here than I did at other places. The gym is referral-based and has a pretty strict screening process. Luckily, my old housemate is a member here and referred me. I think that also helps create a really good environment. Everyone I've met here is respectful, well educated, welcoming, and serious about learning. The overall vibe is very positive and friendly. If you actually want to learn boxing and build good fundamentals, not just get a cardio workout, I definitely recommend Hamabe Dojo.

For me, it's always been about the BJJ and the community. Tony genuinely cares about his students and their growth, both on and off the mats. We train hard, push each other, but there's no ego. Everyone wants to see each other get better, and it really feels like home. Pantheon is a brand-new facility, so the classes right now are smaller and more intimate, which has been amazing for getting hands-on coaching. The spring-loaded mats are also a game changer -- training and takedowns feel so much better on the body and make the rounds that much more fun. Beyond BJJ, they have MMA, striking, Muay Thai, strength and conditioning, kids and adult programs, and private and group training. Proud to have been here since the garage days and even more excited about what Tony and this community are building. If you've been thinking about starting BJJ, come train with us.
