One star is better than they earned. They seemed nice and capable when they came to bid our project but that changed very quickly! This is the seventh renovation/project we have done and their work was the absolute terrible; they used the wrong brick so it does not match our existing brick, they did not grade one of the two patios correctly, every plant they transplanted died including the 6 they threw away. Further, they are condescending and no matter what was agreed to they will deny it and say you are lying or misunderstood. We did not realize we should have gotten every single conversation in writing. They were hired to put in two small patios- one on either side of an existing walk way, stairs across one patio and a platform for our ceramic grill. They started the job a couple of days late, complained that we had to get the area treated for termites since "everybody else just uses bait stations here", even though they were told about the treatment before they bid the job since we had a termite issue last year. They were to match the brick and pattern as the front porch and outdoor fireplace in the back next to the new patios- they did not. We told them the brick was wrong before they laid it but we were told "it was it just had to weather and let the chemicals leach out." We repeated our concern four time and was told something different every time. The second time I talked to Richard Fister about the brick being wrong I was alone; he had come to our house at 6:45 without letting me know. As I was expressing my concern about the brick asking if they had taken a brick to compare before ordering like the other contractors that provided quotes he said "his wife was going through menopause and maybe that is happening to me and I should go in the house and have a glass of wine." While they laid the brick in the same pattern they used the face not the side like all of our other brick so it is clear that it is different even if they had matched the brick. We hired a graphic designer for the area- not one of the specs was accurate- one side is wider than the other, the cubby openings are smaller and the workstation platforms are 2" taller than the design because Richard Fister, the owner told Lucas Fister, his son who also over saw the project "it would look better" however they didn't bother to speak with us until it was too late to fix. Lucas Fister said it was hard to do because of the cinder block. The designer specifically pointed out that her dimensions and spacing took into account the sizing of cmu blocks which is just a cinder block. As stated, all plants and shrubs that were not thrown away died because they did not transplant with a root ball or plant correctly, the wind would literally blow the plants over. When we told Richard Fister his response was "well the guys really just didn't want to transplant them." Then why charge us $650 to transplant them?? Once they died, he said "well sorry that isn't guaranteed." Even for the 6 thrown away. At the end they wanted an additional 2K+, when we asked for invoices, Lucas Fister became irate and verbally aggressive. He was asked to leave our property; we have never had anything like this ever happened to us so unsettling to say the least. We had to install additional cameras in the back of our house for security. Richard Fister was there and said he would finish the punch list which included an enormous amount of mortar at the side of the stairs, wholes all in our yard where they moved plants, landscape lighting wire that had been cut in several places, drip lines cut, paint on the siding of our house and column repair. He has agreed to come four different times and canceled each time the day of. We have not heard from them in a month and assume they will not be back to complete the punch list. I cannot stress how much you should stay away from these people, especially if you live on Daniel Island or Dunes West (I assume any nice neighborhood would get the same reaction) which Lucas Fister made sure to let us know we are all "broke" people. read more

provided sick plants and the fence they did was a joke. we still have cement in our yard from where they first placed posts in the wrong locations and they never finished the job by fixing the gates - even asked my husband "why do you need the gate to open" We gave up on Fister's coming back to correct the gates after 5 months and hired another company to fix the gate issue - $600 later, I can't say enough great things about CHS Fence and Jermey. He changed out the hardware to the correct type, aligned the gates, and made the one that never opened actually work. He also came the day he said he would and was honest. How refreshing. read more

Fister landscapes built us the nicest flower bed along the side of our house. My envision is to have a large wall of hydrangeas to gaze at when I hit retirement and Fister landscapes certainly has come through with starting that dream. If anyone is looking to get some landscape/hardscape work done, give Fister Landscapes a call. Richard and his guys did an incredible job in our backyard. Highly recommend them to help you out. They can do anything. On this project, they built the pergola, installed palms, added an extension of the pool deck for eventual outdoor kitchen, built the retaining wall with steps, and put down all new sod. Can't wait to add more plants back here to green it up. Fister will probably help me with that too. It was a lot of fun working with these guys. Highly recommend for sure! read more

We can't say enough good things about Fister Landscapes. We originally reached out for help with moving/improving some of our original irrigation, but were happy to learn they have a lot of experience (and ideas) with hardscaping. They helped us understand our options, then replaced our original slab patio with a bigger, more beautiful paver version with "sexy curves" (official Fister term). They absolutely left our backyard better than they found it - and also fixed/improved our irrigation to account for the patio and other changes. Not one for writing reviews, but after an experience this good I have to share. Richard and his team recently installed 4 french drains, leveled our entire lot and installed 5000 sq feet of sod. We received a few quotes and their professionalism and quality surpassed all others. They prepared a phased out plan with our budget in mind, and prioritized each of our requests. We were in need of replacing 4000 square feet of sod in our yard and Fister Landscaping did not disappoint. Richard was professional, knowledgeable, personable and took the time to actually communicate with us in person! His boys/crew knocked the project out in one afternoon.
