I've been to every marina on Cumberland. As far as marinas go, this restaurant is great. Nice selection of food, good service, great tiki atmosphere. Food was very good, love eating on water, the wait staff was very good but kitchen was backed up so it took awhile to get food.

Unless you are as shitfaced as the rest of the patrons avoid at all cost. There are a million people who work there, and our waitress appeared to bust her ass, but somehow service is still awful. Took about 2 hours for the meal. Burger was trash; clearly not cooked fresh and with an off flavor. My wife insists I say the fish was solid. read more

I've come here multiple times over the years and it's always been decent, nothing great nothing horrible. This time however it was far less than desired. This time I ordered the Nachos, something that is pretty darn hard to do wrong. The nachos I ordered were $12+, they had the orange/yellow generic nacho cheese, barely any pico, and very very over cooked grisly steak that felt horrible to chew, not to mention I'm pretty sure the chips were stale. I'm not saying this place is horrible but it's much better to just relax and have a beer while enjoying some of the fired banana peppers, something you can't really mess up. Ps. - A word of warning, beware of the wait since once you order it generally take a while to get your food. So if you're in a hurry be careful. read more

Nice atmosphere. Nachos were terrible. All cheese and the pico was just a little chopped tomato and a few tiny pieces of onion. Only four jalapeño slices. Chips were salty, low quality out of a grocery store bag. Blackened catfish sandwich was inedible, same as the fish bites appetizer. Extremely salty. I traveled in Louisiana for 30 years so I know blackened. Server didn't offer to get me another dish. We also had the prawns, another appetizer. They were tiny frozen, pre-breaded, overcooked shrimp. If you're a true Lake Cumberland boater you've been here. If you haven't, you should. Wolf Creek is one of the nicer marinas on the lake and fish tales goes hand in hand with it. Obviously in the summer they can be busy, especially during the big three lake weekends (Memorial Day, Labor Day, and 4th of July) as well as Poker Run, the weekend after Labor Day. So be prepared to go early or expect a wait time. All the food is very good and they have a good selection of beers on tap as well. Servers are super friendly and the place is very clean. It's a perfect dock restaurant and I enjoy visiting! read more

Food was very disappointing. Sure its on the water so the prices are a bit higher, but you get nothing for it. Low quality ingredients, melted cheese and chewy bacon on a chicken breast. Crab cakes were fishy. Shrimp was undercooked. My kids didnt even like the basic kids meals. I've been to enough restaurants to tell what quality food is and this isnt it. No effort or thought into the most important aspect of a restaurant, the food! Make it great or you'll never have repeat customers. read more

Having read mixed reviews on Facebook, I wasn't sure what to expect when we stopped in here. We knew they were operating with limited menu as they are still rebuilding after the storm that ripped apart the dock earlier this summer. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with a party of 8 plus a German Shepherd. They seated us fairly quickly at a high top table and even brought out a water bowl filled with ice water and Milkbone treat for my dog. We had great service, the food was good, and the view of the lake unbeatable! If you are this end of the lake, definitely give Fish Tales a try. read more

We've never been disappointed with a meal here. Always get seafood (why order chicken or burgers at a fish place?). Service is usually attentive and unobtrusive, food is fresh, hot and delicious. read more

Been here a few times over the years. Easiest access to it is if you're boating and dock up right at the restaurant. I drove the times I went and once took a taxi boat and once walked from the marina parking lot. Food each time was quite good as was service. It's kid friendly and there is a gift shop next to it with plenty of items. The view is very nice and atmosphere as well. Not sure if they're wet now (serve alcohol), they weren't when I originally visited. My only lack of star was due to driving distance from Somerset. But as I stated. It's not a problem if boating. read more

We stopped by today for lunch while we were running the lake. We got there about 12:30pm and we told there was no food because they were cleaning the dryers. Who cleans the fryers during lunch?! We ended up being there for over 2.5 hours and some of our food wasn't correct or was cold. I've heard the mixed reviews but wanted to try for ourselves. We were here Memorial Day weekend and again today. Service is super slow. Last time it was over 3 hrs in/out. They do tell you they're short staffed but seriously even during Covid these guys could get food out much quicker. It's super sad but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you want to sit for a super long time and find your own menus and signal to the bar for more drinks. Again so sad cause we love the marina and the drink sex on the creek. Just shaking my head. read more

Terrible service. Can't say anything for the food because we left. The hostess wanted to seat our two families at a high top table (the chairs didn't even have backs to them), when we asked for a different spot because we had 5 small kids with us she initially said "no" and then reluctantly agreed after we pointed to two open tables that were much more appropriate for our party (all the tables were open it was Wednesday lunch and we were the only customers). The hostess slammed the menus and silverware down and walked away. Not sure what the deal was but it was easily going to be a $150 check and they did not seem to care at all. read more

This restaurant used to be one of our favorites, but not anymore. Evidently the management has changed along with the menu. The food is overpriced and very bland. My sons burger seemed like a patty that was take from a freezer and heated in microwave. Don't even think about getting a beer as they are $6 a bottle. So disappointed this oasis has changed. We sat in line to be seated in the patio. We stood for 15 minutes and they did not seat us, or anyone else in the line before or after us. There were multiple tables open on the patio. There was a band playing, and they apparently did not want customers. The people running the host stand were rude and only stopped by once. The customers seated said they had warm beer so we left. FISHTALES; I'm praying for you! First year encounters when they opened, basically all good. We understand how it goes when you start out so slow service or wrong food happens, no big deal! Then they got liquor license; SCORE! Summer of 2017 our "favorite" employees were no longer there (boo!). They were having trouble keeping people. It's nice there, pleasant to the eye, food is decent, as are prices - it gets REALLY busy, sometimes a long wait but it was looking like this place was going to be a hit & we could not be happier about it! 2018 - Sigh............prayers coming. We really want this place to make it. Employees are SO nice, helpful & so overwhelmed. (Can't keep staff issues) 1st time down, shower & restroom A/C DOWN! AND one shower has no COLD water. The shower room (women's) was filthy & someone had given their dog a shower & it was covered & clogged with dog hair in the shower that had cold water. We learned that though Fishtales is on Central time, they operate on Eastern Standard time; which we were not happy to learn. When it's "rainy", no one comes (obviously) but they close the restaurant early. Learned that the hard way this summer also when we came to order food & it was alllll dark (it had rained earlier until evening) We understand but we rent our slip & would hang out there - & we like to eat & drink ( a lot too, LOL)!! Anyway - PEOPLE GIVE IT A TRY & DON'T GIVE UP ON HER!! We are rooting for you still Fishtales!! read more

Awful service! Saturday at lunch time with only two servers. We waited 15min get a table and then she sat us where neither one was going to wait on us. We asked about a server and she rolled her eyes said they were busy and then walked away. I absolutely would not give them my money and we left. read more

If there is more than 30 people everyone around you will not get your food and you and a few others will have to wait over 3 hours just to get your food. Slowest service my friend and I have ever experienced. On top of all of that you have to wait 45 minutes in line to even get a table, also won't tell you if your food is frozen. Will bring drinks and appetizers 2 hours before food, tables and floor is more sticky than 16 pounds of gorilla glue churned for 6 days strait. Random kid sitting a table playing roblox on his computer for 5 hours which is strange but isn't all that relevant to a problem I guess. The moral of this whole complaint is never come here on a weekend, which is close to impossible because there is a thing called work. In relevance to bringing your drinks first, they will bring you 4 rounds of drinks before anything. Wifi is worse than the wifi in an abandoned building. It's an outside restaurant but has a roof so don't go anywhere near the weird men 80 year old men with 3 year old children and a 20 year old wife because they bring 46 packs of cigarettes with them to occupy themselves mostly because they smell like a 2 acre tobacco field that was in the middle of a Californian forest fire. Little dockside restaurant on Lake Cumberland at Wolf Creek Marina. We pulled in to get out of the rain and thought we'd give it a try. Definitely better than expected. Greeted immediately by a group of younger guys. Ordered the firecracker shrimp for appetizer. I was expecting something similar to bang bang; therefore, I was disappointed. The fried shrimp were good, but they forgot sauce and brought it out separate. The sauce was more of a sriracha mayo dip. Had the ribeye for our entree with French fries and the grilled veggies of the day. The ribeye was very tender and cooked to a medium center. It was perfectly seasoned and tasted as good, if not better, than most steak houses. They weren't serving alcohol at the time of this review, but they do let you bring your own. I was skeptical when entering and seeing that it was run by a bunch of young guys; however, I was pleasantly surprised. Received great service from all and an enjoyable dinner on the water. read more
