They were very understanding of any questions and helped right away. They had a wide selection of equipment, but it was mostly fly fishing equipment, along with some fly tying stuff. They had a wide selection of clothing and rods. Definitely worth it to go to when you're in London. Good prices on the fly tying and flys them selves, but rods and reels quite expensive, high quality though. Worth the money to spend, with a large budget though. Just keep in mind the time of the other reviews, 6-14 yrs ago, it's definitely changed since then.

As the noon day sun began to beat down it became outrageously warm and suddenly walking anywhere was a dreadful idea. It was so very, very hot. We were on the outlook for reprieve and we saw this store. My friend loves sporting stores and I love air conditioning so we headed in. First thing I noticed was despite how empty it was and how we were outnumbered 4:1 in salespeople to customers I was astonished at how we were soundly ignored. The salespeople were younger and much more interested in talking about an upcoming trip then they were in us - that is until we went downstairs where we were followed purely out of suspicion and to keep an eye on us. One pair of trousers can only be folded and refolded before it becomes comical and a tad insulting. The store, much like everything else, wasn't the original tenants and need to put some TLC into the place around the windows and entrance where there appears to have been a leak and the plaster and paint is peeling. It isn't an attractive look. They do have a solid selection of merchandise. The upstairs has men and what constitutes as women's clothing, the main floor has some more clothing and fishing rods, and downstairs has waders and fly fishing equipment. It was decent but it didn't have the best atmosphere. The A/C was absolutely fantastic though!

Let me explain. About 5 minutes walk from this shop is our patch of the river Thames. I was talking to the owner of Fishing Unlimited the other day and he told me these surprising facts - there are over 150 different species of fish in the Thames; about half a mile up the road there was a record amount of salmon found recently. What is even more pleasing to hear is that the Thames is getting cleaner every day thanks to the heavy environmental work that is being done to it. So - you are looking at a place that is perfect for fishing - it is free, whats more, and you have this perfect shop around the corner to cater for your every fishing need! The shop is huge. It used to be the old post office about 20 years ago. Now it is filled to the ceiling with fishing paraphernalia - tackle, bait - more bait then you will ever imagine seeing - reels, fishing clothing etc. And the owner really knows his onions. I mean fish. He can help even the most clueless novice. Like me! I'm off to go see that salmon.

His store is an Aladdin's cave of fishing tackle; primarily, but not exclusively selling fly fishing tackle. At O'Reillys you can buy tackle that actually works. Will catch you fish. Hugh will see you right with the correct tackle for the kind of fishing you are looking for. They also organise tuition if you are considering taking up Fly Fishing. Or can organise a trip should you want try your skills. During the winter, Hugh's grayling fishing trips are legend. Awesome fishing, with superb company and laughs on tap. Peter Cockwill is a Cornish Pixie and a bit of a legend in fly fishing. A long time writer for…read moremagazines and a author of some pretty decent Fly Fishing books, there is no doubting his credentials as a knowledgeable fisherman. Pete will greet you with a twinkling eye and is always helpful where you need him to be. There is a reasonable range of tackle, but I really rate this store for it's fly tying gear, and terminal tackle. The store is not easy to find, a nice place to drive to and pop into the pub next door for a nice feed and drink. Also nearby are a few trout lakes that you can buy a day ticket for. Ask at the shop for information.

I'm surprised by the review above, because this is pretty much the worst fishing tackle shop I've…read morevisited. It's small, cramped and untidy. The owner was unfriendly and downright rude when I asked questions. He seemed more interested in his cup of tea and newspaper than my custom. Don't waste your time here; there are much better and much friendlier fishing shops elsewhere in London.
