This is where the locals go. From young people to older people, everyone was together, chatting and there wasn't an age distinction. It was unique, and a fun environment. I was in the lounge area by the fire place, there is a games room, and another room off the lounge with a good sized dance floor. Large parking lot in front. Beer was nice and cold and the Salad was good too, nice pieces of bacon and chicken. The highlight surely was the superb Bangers & Mash. Good, rich mash. And very flavourful Bangers....not your simple, store-bought sausages. Lot of gravy with lots of onions (which I like). A great meal! Service was very friendly and quick. We called the restaurant and they found a way to fit us in later. Little did we know what we would have missed if we were not able to dine at The Helm. What a special place!!! The food was amazing - maybe THE best chicken I've eaten ever - and the atmosphere was just wonderful! Met the owner and some of his family members. Such a treat!
