The campground offers over 60 sites, plus six cozy cabins. Three of these are rustic stone cabins with two rooms each, while the other three are smaller, single-room cabins. Cabin Six has been beautifully updated with new floors, furniture, appliances, and a modern bathroom. For larger groups, the park also has three group camp cabins--each with 20 bunk beds and spacious bathrooms that include showers, toilets, and sinks. The park is full of history and adventure. Visitors can explore the Pioneer Cabin and its nearby waterfall, or cross the famous swinging bridge--a suspension bridge that stretches 25 feet over Bear Creek. On the other side, you'll find two trails perfect for bouldering, rock climbing, or simply wandering through the forest. We used the paddle boat and which was fun. You can also fish. There is a sunset cruise boat you can do ($25 per person) cash only. We were walking the road way and whispering and just told us to be quiet! Had expired ice cream and tried to sell it to us after they told us it was expired! Host was also smoking marijuana, it was very strong and noticeable. Host jumped out in front of a kid in the dark, telling her to be quiet when she was just riding her bicycle. Host hates kids and won't let them have any fun. The cops laughed at the hosts because we were doing absolutely nothing wrong, the hosts kept making up rules and lying to the cops to try and get us kicked out. This was the worst camping experience we've ever had and we've camped all over northwest and east Alabama. They should be reported to KOA Corporate, this is the absolute worst KOA I've ever seen. We are glad we aren't welcome back. They can post about it all they want and lie all they want. You could see where the stick was drug to the road in the dirt. This place is way overrated and the new staff is RUDE. We never even wanted to go this year but it was the only place open so we decided to go. We are SO glad we aren't welcome back.

Beautiful !!! We only stayed 1 night but wish we had more…read moretime. We got sight #52 which has a water view right above the swim beach. The concrete pad was pretty level and long enough for a 28' trailer and truck. The crushed gravel patio area had a nice CLEAN table, fire pit, and a pole with 2 hooks (to hang trash bags, lights, towels, etc). The bathroom, shower, and laundry were just a short walk and were very clean. The swim area has a nice beach and there is a roped off area that goes out to 6' deep. The water was warm and the bottom was sandy. The trails wander through the woods and have old asphalt paving which does not detract from the beautiful natural surroundings but feels good underfoot and isn't muddy. The caretakers are super nice people. They give you a large trash bag when you check in. USE IT! We saw a family take a grocery bag of trash to the dumpster and leave the rest of their trash scattered around their site when they left. You shouldn't pay more and stay at a commercial campground that packs you in a parking lot with hardly any trees. Check out our federal campgrounds. They're awesome.
