Hey neighbors, I went to try this place out on Christmas Eve. H-E-B had prime rib for $15.99a pound. My husband wanted the bones cut and placed back on and then tied. I called Fisher Ham and asked them if they could specifically do this for me. I get there and there was one in the case. It was slightly under the weight that I wanted, but I took it. I said I just called. I wanna make sure that again the bones are cut placed back and tied. She assured me that it was before I paid over $20 a pound. It was a very huge disappointment when we got ready to cook it for Christmas dinner and it was not cut at all. It was just tied. I will not be going back. I spent $170 on a prime rib and didn't get what I asked for specifically. I understand if it's something that slipped by them. But I specifically asked them three different times before I paid for it. read more

I bought a steer from a student after the 2020 HLSR shut down early due to covid. I had Fishers process the animal amd they did a fantastic job to my specifications. Everything was labeled clearly and I paid extra for vacuum sealing which was money well spent. They aged the beef for 30 days on the hook and every steak, roast, and burger has been nothing but top quality. This place smells like no other place I have ever been too. You can smell the rancid odor from a mile away. There has even been an article posted about the way they discharge feces, blood, and other waste at the facility. See link. I haven't brought a deer, or anything for that matter here to be processed, but I have been an avid purchaser of their bacon and sausages... BEST BACON IN HOUSTON! They serve up quality meat products that you simply can't deny, their sausages are flavor packed and are juicy. No, this isn't a place for vegans or vegetarians. I am very devastated by the actions of the company Fisher Ham & Meat C.O , I am 16 years old and I recently went hunting and killed my first deer. After Tagging,Cleaning and icing my deer to have her processed by the Fishers. The next day I checked my deer meat to ensure that my deer was not spoiled and had enough ice and I proceeded to take my deer to the Fishers and they filed my order and took my deer in to be processed. Three days later they called my father and notified him that my deer was "Spoiled". I thought to myself that it would be impossible for my deer to spoil after she was cleaned , tagged and iced properly. My feelings are deeply hurt by this , I went hunting for my first kill and looked forward to some great deer meat only to be cast away by a unpleasant phone called that my deer "spoiled" and they could not offer me any other deer meat in inventory, they also did not return my tag from my deer being very rude and unprofessional. read more

We brought in my Son's first kills -Whitetail and red stag. We got the whitetail back quickly (we didn't have anything special ordered but pan sausage-which is DELISH) So that my son, who was going to Navy Boot Camp could have a taste before he left. We have used the pan sausage and the deer burger several times and it has all been great. We have picked up the red stag and had Andouille sausage from that one so it took a little longer to process which is very normal. Overall everyone was nice polite and helpful. We love the product. Obviously if you have the set up to do this yourself it is better to do it that way as this is not cheap. It is very comparative to other processing places though, and saves the hassle of doing it yourself. Again-they would get at least 3 stars for as helpful as they were...the 4th and 5th one is for good product..PLEASE be advised we pulled up at 11:59 to pickup our stuff and they were closed -they close from 12-1pm for lunch and if you are not there a few minutes early you will have to come back read more

Tell the guy who doesn't like the odor to go back inside the loop with all of the other fancy elites. Fisher's is a slaughterhouse and a butcher shop. Been going there for years. The ham, bacon and sausage are tops. I've had FFA animals processed there and it was great. read more

Brought in a nilgai to have processed. They were going to butterfly the backstraps. I only received 5 lbs of backstrap when I went to pick it up...I get more than that from a hill country whitetail. The nilgai backstraps weighed 10 lbs each (20lbs total) when I dropped it off. I will never go here again nor recommend fisher for any processing. read more

Beware of this place. These guys did something to me that another processor never heard of before. This is absolutely unbelievable and I'm not making this up. I called them on the phone first to see if they processed deer. I had a doe given to me and needed it processed. Just wanted sausage and steaks made, as I have a grinder at the house and I always grind my own meat. Anyway, I drive to this place and was greeted like this, "What do you want?" Hmmm, not really the best greeting for a new customer, but hey, maybe he was having a bad day? I told him I wanted about 10-15lbs of sausage and the rest steaks. "Well, we have a 25lb minimum for sausage, 12 1/2 lbs of deer, 12 1/2 lbs of hog." What kind do you want? He never told me to look at the 12 x 24 sign that had all his prices on it per lb, so I was trying to figure out how much this would cost me. Well, I guess this waiting irritated him and he kept asking, Smoked, Jalapeno, or Jalapeno Cheese? I asked him to hold on, as I had questions about the pricing and mix of deer and hog, because I like my sausage somewhat on the dry side. When I turned around to ask him, he was missing. I don't know where he went. At this point, my boss calls me on the phone and I needed to take the call. He just happened to walk in at that time and I told him I would be in my car for a few. At this point, I'm on the phone with my boss in my car and this Mexican fellow comes out and opens my backseat door and puts the dirty cooler back in my car! I had towels laid out that I wanted to the cooler on, but I guess it didn't occur to him that I wanted to keep my car clean and odor free! After about 20 minutes on the phone, I go back into the store to finish what I had started. (Keep in mind, when I walked out, I left my cooler in the store, the Mexican guy brought it back out after about 10 minutes of me being in my car, and tried loading it himself. I asked him to stop because of the nasty mess he was making in my car and I told him to leave it. I had to ask my boss if I could call him back so I could deal with these rude people. He was ok with it. NOT COOL!) So, back to the ordeal, as I walk in, the overweight older gentleman working there asked me with a big smile on his face, "Did you ever figure out what you wanted?" "Have you had enough time to figure it out?" I replied, "I was in my car taking a phone call that needed to be dealt with when next thing you know, my cooler was being loaded." That's about all I got out of my mouth when I finally had enough with these rude people and I blew up! I don't know exactly what foul language came out of my mouth, but I basically told them to shove it and I was taking my deer somewhere else to be processed. Bye A**H**es!!!! I find another processor down the road a few miles and stop in and they were very pleasant. The young man comes out to my car and helps me unload my cooler and I tell him what I wanted. He kindly obliged and said, "Ok, lets see what you have here and we can figure out how much sausage we can make." He opens the cooler, removes the head from the cooler and runs his hands through the ice and says to me, "there isn't any meat in here?" To my disbelief, I looked and sure enough, the deer was gone, they left the head and ripped the tag off the ear of the doe!!!" The processor stole my deer!!!! The second processor was in shock after I told him what happened and he told me that he had never heard of anything like this. The second processor, who I will be using from now on, told me Fisher's was under new management, but shook his head from side to side as he said it. He apologized to me and discarded the head for me. I loaded up my empty cooler in my car and left at this point. I COULD NOT believe what just happened to me! I had my deer stolen directly from under my nose! I guess it never occurred to me to check my cooler when I left, but I guess lesson learned here. Now, how do I go about proving what deer is actually mine? These people are shady and I thought I would share my long story with you. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR COOLER PEOPLE! Do NOT use this place. They packed ALL of our meat with the meat paper wrapped inside the butcher paper. Therefore, when you try to use the meat to cook, the paper is wrapped all inside of the meat. Once you defrost the meat, you have to pick out the paper in-between all of the meat, because they FROZE the meat with the paper INSIDE of it. Not only are they expensive, but last year they packed our meat in air tight bags, this year, it is all in butcher paper, when we asked for air tight packing. We will NEVER go back.
