This is a review for the seafood truck, not the permanent location…read more The food quality was average. I got the whiting dinner. The three battered pieces of whiting were decent-sized and hot. The whiting had a characteristically mild flavor, though the batter was nothing special. I was disappointed in the fries, which were warm and soggy. The two pieces of white bread were spongy and blah. The $20 charge seemed excessive for this quality. Had the fish had better batter, the fries been crispy, and coleslaw replaced the spongy bread, I would have felt differently.

Come as you are; it's a welcoming place reminiscent of little fried fish shacks of decades gone by: mounted fish, photographs and quips included. I ordered a half-order of Scotty's Famous Fish and Chips. Fresh cod flown in every day from Halifax Nova Scotia. It's flakey and mild in flavor..., perhaps too mild for some. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed its gently fried, crispy batter and warm flakey cod fish! Recommended.

The food is good and plentiful. Yesterday was the first time we went there for lunch. I ordered the fish and shrimp combo and a side of fried onion rings. It was a bit on the greasy side, but still tasty. I'm thinking of going back for a solid plate of shrimp. It was so good. The service is excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and served us well. Scotty's has a charm of a typical 50's fish and chips place. Not too much has changed and a number of us are fine with that. There's a bell near the door that you're encouraged to ring if you appreciated the service. When it's rung, the staff shouts out "Thank you!" You hear it ring quite a lot when you dine-in.
