This was the first restaurant that I entered in Kiel. It was excellent. The staff was very helpful in selecting a wine for my dinner and the food was excellent. I had the seafood sampler appetizer and the seafood soup. Both were a perfect introduction to Northern Germany cuisine. I highly recommend a visit when in Kiel. read more

Das Fischers Fritz Restaurant ist das kulinarische Aushängeschild des 4-Sterne Superior Hotels Birke. Es ist nicht nur das einzige wirkliche Fischrestaurant in Kiel, hier stehen auch typisch regionale Spezialitäten auf der Speisekarte - gefertigt aus frischen Lebensmitteln von "fairen" norddeutschen Lieferanten. Das Fischers Fritz ist Gründungsmitglied bei FEINheimisch - Genuss aus Schleswig-Holstein e.V. und Fördermitglied bei Slow Food. Hier stehen Qualität und ausgezeichneter Service an erster Stelle.

History

Established in 1971.

1971 baute Familie Birke das Hotel Birke - Waldesruh mit 13 Zimmern und 20 Betten. Das Hotel garni wurde im November 1973 eröffnet. Im Jahre 1979 wurde es von Sohn Rainer Birke mit 20 Zimmern und 31 Betten übernommen. Rainer Birke führte das Hotel sehr erfolgreich, sodass er es auf 39 Zimmer erweitern konnte. In den folgenden Jahren kamen noch 18 weitere Zimmer, eine Sauna, ein Solarium, ein Fitnessraum, ein Aufzug, eine Hotelbar und ein Tagungsraum hinzu. Aufgrund der großen Nachfrage im Hotel Birke und um das Hotel für die nächsten Generationen attraktiv zu machen, wurde das Hotel im Jahr 2002 erneut erweitert. Hinzu kamen 25 klimatisierte Zimmer, ein Veranstaltungsbereich, ein Business Center, das Restaurant Fischers Fritz und das Birke Spa. Im Mai 2020 war die Erweiterung fertiggestellt mit Sonnenterrasse, Außenanlage, neuer Kaminbar, 12 Hotelzimmern und Suiten, Erweiterung der Küche und Lagerräume sowie drei neuer Elektro-Ladestellen auf dem Parkplatz.

Unser Wunsch einen schönen Abend mit sehr gutem Essen (regionale Küche) und freundlichem Service zu erleben wurde erfüllt. Das Essen war hervorragend und die anfängliche Unsicherheit (weil wir nicht sehr häufig so besonders unterwegs sind) wurde durch die netten Mitarbeiter ganz schnell beigelegt. Wir haben einen wirklich schönen und entspannten Abend erlebt. Der nächste Besuch ist fest geplant und wir werden anschließend ganz sicher noch in der Kaminbar vorbeischauen. read more

Wir haben im Rahmen einer Tagung im Hotel Birke am 03.09.2012 mit 10 Personen im Fischers Fritz zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war hervorragend und trotz unterschiedlicher Bestellungen hat der Service ganz prima geklappt. Solche Mitarbeiter findet man nicht oft in Restaurants. Wir werden sicherlich bei Gelegenheit wieder so einen netten Abend verbringen wollen. read more
