I had one more prescription for a non controlled substance. To be number ten or eleven in line, is frustrating, counterproductive and insulting. I went to an urgent care, got my script, which my Dr, Dr. Glovaci refused to honor, although I had one more refill. Dr. Mendoza recognized that my Dad is not your usual 98 year old and still has a lot of life left to live. He is patient, knowledgeable, listens and remembers. Dr. Mendoza carefully adjusts my Dad's cardiac meds to avoid the fatigue that can be associated with the beta blockers. He doesn't order unnecessary tests yet he orders enough to know just what is going on. I was surprised to see there were no other reviews on YELP because this is a busy office and the patients in the office look pleased with the care. The office staff are very friendly, helpful and patient whether in person or on the phone. If you are looking for a cardiologist, don't be afraid to go here. You won't be disappointed. What's funny is that my Dad is not Dr Mendoza's oldest patient! He has others 100 and 103! He sent my Dad to the cardiology rehab exercise program which got my Dad doing over 2 miles on the treadmill. The staff at the cardiology rehab gym are also very good. They had to be spread out over extended period, "because they were already booked for each test" . The day I had to see the cardiologist to wrap up and determine whether I currently have the condition running in family history or not. A NP or PA came in to tell me "everything is normal, you don't have to see a doctor". Medicare and supplemental insurance were billed for all the visits including the "wrap-up" visit. I also had to pay copay. 3-4 months later, when I I was supposed to have a procedure done in another facility, I needed a cardiac clearance. I got a call from Los Al cardiovascular to schedule an appointment in 2 days ( while previous tests I had took almost 2 months to be done). The scheduler said " you could get a paper clearance from a NP". I wonder medicare can audit and reprimand them for collecting unnecessary visits or not. They should make patients' lives easier by sending digital forms of results.

I received a collections notice for a Zio Monitor worn in November 2024 by a different patient. Dr…read more Shandling's office registered the device under my information with iRhythm technologies even though I had not been seen in that office since 2010. As I had moved out of the area 15 years prior, I never received any bill and the bill was sent to collections. It took multiple phone calls over several days to get anyone to help look into this case. Finally, the billing manager at Dr. Shandling's office admitted that someone entered my information instead of the correct patient's information so I was being billed for the service that patient received. I don't understand how this could have happened as I had not visited that office for 15 years, my chart should have been archived. There was no mention of how this happened or what would be done to prevent it from happening again. I'd think twice about coming here as mixing patient information is a serious concern and there were no/insufficient checks in place to ensure the correct information was entered. UPDATE: As of 05/21/2025, the balance from the collections company is still showing. Additionally, Dr. Shandling's office forwarded an email that inadvertently revealed the other patient's information including date of service, prescription number, device serial number, patient name, patient DOB, patient's insurance company, and patient's insurance ID number. This is a HIPAA violation. I have yet to receive confirmation that all records have been amended and reflect the correct information.
