I come from a small town, when a bank says its a community bank and serves the community, you expect that. I should tell you that this bank wouldn't notarize a document for my wife, whom even offered to pay because she didn't hold an account there (they were not busy). I should also let any potential garage salers from the local community know that they won't change big bills of US currency into smaller bills of US currency if you do not have an account ( again not busy ). I understand if people are busy or if you have frequent requests to use a service that takes away from other paying customers, but neither of these requests were that.
What you should have done was let me know you don't normally do these things for non account holders, then sell me on your services, the benefits of banking there and make me feel like my business should be at your bank. You did none of these things, in fact you did the opposite.
My opinion above may not reflect the experience of others, however, these two separate interactions made me decide to keep my business elsewhere. read more
