Beyond improving her physical strength and self-defense skills, she is taught discipline and respect. This has led to notable improvements in her behavior both at home and at school. The instructors, including Mrs. Cha-Ca, Ms. Cancino, and Mr. McGuffey, demonstrate great dedication to ensuring each student masters the necessary forms. They are always willing to provide additional assistance to my daughter after class when she wants to work on a specific skill. It is incredibly rewarding to see the pride she feels upon achieving rank advancements or being selected to demonstrate a skill in front of the class. I can't wait to see what she'll learn next and to see her become a black belt in the future. I would highly recommend Ascend to anyone interested in learning martial arts.

I could not have accomplished my goals without their critical teaching skills. This is a family atmosphere. Everybody works and helps each other. I've been a teacher myself for 45 years and I can tell you Master Cancino and Family and teachers are above and beyond. Don't miss out on this opportunity.

The vibe in this studio is so much more different in comparison to the old studio but I still like it. The workout although it doesn't involve a lot of cardio (jogging or running around the studio, jumping jacks, etc), feels intense because it concentrates a lot more with strength training. This week was my first day back since they transitioned mid last year and man, I feel SORE!!! My work had a lot of restrictions on what we can do as outside activities due to pandemic so I skipped moooonths of gym/studios. It was definitely great to be back and finally try out this new studio. There is PLENTY of space for social distancing, and each classes are limited to 20 people. The owner/instructor is a 5th Degree Black Belt that studied Taekwon-Do, BJJ / Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing so rest assured you're going to get an excellent HYBRID workout! The schedule consist mainly of kickboxing which it transitioned from the old studio, and taekwon-do classes couple of nights a week! The classes are also ALL ages (from 8-12 and above) so you can even take your kids or young teens to work out with you! Their rate is reasonable and I believe it is great value for what you'll be receiving even if you're only able to attend twice week--but why only twice a week!?? I'm currently on nights so my schedule is limited to once or twice a week but when I return to days I can't wait to attend at least three times a week!!! The customer service is AWESOME!!! I got taken care of--with lots of love--with anything I needed from transitioning from my old studio membership to getting proper guidance during workout.

The amazing thing about Carson ATA Martial Arts is that they are selling a class that appeals to…read morekids but is really aimed at the adults. Your kid will want the instruction, which is how Carson ATA gets you in the door. But how they get you to stay, is that they offer more than just a class containing instruction and your typical respect-based techniques of martial arts on tap for the taking. They offer to the parents a system of keeping the kids interested in being better kids. For a short part of the 50 minute class, parents get to stand up and explain how the kids did on meeting a certain goal (perhabs to be more respectful or in whatever way to be better kids). In front of the entire group, the kids are cheered on by the dojo about whatever little thing was hard for the kid to do at home over the course of the week. These skills in motivating kids to respect their parents is incredible. Why? Because these skills are taught by the same dojos who teach your kid how to fight and how to protect the child against attackers, which is what the kid really wants. So for every future black belt in the making, you get a child that is primarily concerned with doing the best he can at home, for you, so he gets to come back and learn to spar and grapple and use the equipment. A smarter business model there has never been. My kids are already wanting to go back. And I have a super hard kid that hates everything, plus is incredibly shy. In fact, I was very defeated at first that my child didn't want to participate over the first 30 minutes. But by the end of class, with some very clever motivation from the dojo, all the kids welcomed my child (who was probably feeling very uncomfortable being un-wallflowered) and got her on the floor and eventually she was doing some moves with the others and having a good time. They really want to come back. I actually hope my children become black belts. I can see this really working out.

Carson ATA has helped my daughter develop confidence in a positive, constructive environment. She…read morelearns not only martial arts, but life skills that we employ at home and at school.
