Our child loved it so much that eventually she requested to be enrolled for academics program. That was truly amazing because rarely would a young child request this (2nd grade at the time)! She loved all the activities (STEM, robotics, academics including math, reading and writing). I also send them to Sylvan during the winter breaks as they are available for extended hours and have great activities for the children. Lisa and Wing are extremely dedicated owners that care about delivering proper education to their students. They are also very caring toward all the children and are so down-to-earth, always easy to talk to with any concerns or questions. I highly recommend this learning center to anyone interested in excelling or reinforcing their child's studies.

My granddaughter started prekindergarten at OLS. We thought we found the perfect school. Even when…read moreparents commented, "this school is not the same", we ignored them. The prekindergarten - third grade teachers were remarkable, exhibiting Christ-like qualities. The education she received through the third grade was stellar, through and after COVID. These teachers really cared about the social-emotional and educational needs of the students that were entrusted to their care. Even when my son said it was time to change schools I stubbornly held on. But fourth grade confirmed that it was indeed time to move on. During the first week of after-school band practice my granddaughter's instrument was taken and damaged by a student in the upper grades. I spoke to the principal Mr. Venticinque, and after watching a video of the lunchroom my granddaughter's statement was confirmed. I wish this was the only incident that took place during the fourth grade. Unfortunately, it was not. She was sitting next to a new student who stole her school supplies. The teacher said she was unaware of the incident, but the new student confirmed that she stole the supplies because she didn't have any. I still do not understand how a teacher cannot monitor a class when there are only fourteen students in the class. My granddaughter actually prayed to get the fourth grade teacher she wanted. And, unfortunately she received the teacher she prayed for. This turned out to be the reason we would leave OLS. This teacher yelled and humiliated students all year. Every day my granddaughter would come home with a different story. Even though the teacher's anger wasn't directed at my granddaughter, children shouldn't be subject to this behavior from adults. She would yell at students if they didn't wear the correct color for Dollar Dress Down Day. I couldn't understand why her anger was directed at the children when parents make the decision as to what their child will wear to school. My granddaughter came out of school very upset after sitting for a test that she studied hard for. This fourth grade teacher took points off her test because she said my granddaughter was talking. I approached the teacher and told her that my grandchild was telling a student to stop cheating off her paper. The teacher asked why my granddaughter didn't tell her. I told her that she was scared of her. She looked shocked and said she would speak to her. That conversation never took place. After this I didn't approach the teacher with my concerns for fear of retaliation against my granddaughter. When the school year was coming to an end we decided this was not the school environment my grandchild should be in. I approached the principal with our concerns regarding this teacher. He responded by saying no other parents had mentioned this to him. He also stated that this fourth grade teacher never yelled. I knew that both of these statements were not true. I told him that her parents would make the decision as to whether she would stay at OLS. My son emailed the principal, Mr. Venticinque and requested a day and time to meet with him. He didn't respond to the email until mid summer. I was a faithful volunteer at OLS for four years. I actually thought this would make a difference in how my grandchild was treated. Unfortunately, it did not. The behavior of the fourth grade teacher, delayed responses from the principal and high teacher turnover are just a few of the reasons why I would not recommend this school.

If a class is missed for any reason, there is absolutely no option to make it up. No credit is offered, no refund is provided, and no alternative is given. What makes this situation worse is that at the time of registration, parents are explicitly told that missed classes can be made up. This information is false and misleading. When the moment comes to request the makeup class that was promised, it is suddenly 'not allowed.' When parents call to question this or attempt to negotiate a credit or an alternative class, Fiona responds with hostility, becomes angry, and has even hung up the phone abruptly. There is no secretary, no customer service, and no other person to escalate the issue to. The instructor states that all concerns must be addressed with Flora, yet Fiona refuses to take responsibility, avoids accountability, and offers no solutions whatsoever. This is a deeply frustrating experience and reflects a complete lack of integrity, transparency, and basic professionalism.

If you're a mom the cares how your child is treated, DO NOTTT enroll them here. First off, miss Ashley. Should not be around children. Shes aggressive and puts fear in the kids. Says things like " Oh we handle them" like if they are not listening. And the demeanor and tone I was in shock. My daughter was also coming home with nail marks in her side rib and she would tell me during bath time how ms Ashley would firmly grab pinch and twist her side stomach which made sense where those marks were coming from. It certainly wasn't me and my daughter always has short nails. Also never had marks like this until she started here. Then my daughter would come back home with allll the lunch I sent her with and when I'd ask her why she didn't eat any of it she would tell me " because miss Ashley said NO" So your telling me while all the other kids where eating they had my kid starving and watching others have their food? And this happened numerous times and when I asked the other teacher in the class they would just look at me like " yeah it's true" and shrugged their shoulders like if they knew it was true. Had it not been true they would have said so. Why not let a child have her food of beyond me! Plus these "teacher / staff " they have working with the kids are not qualified to be caring for children they have -0 patients and u can tell they dislike kids and are only there for a check. The first day I picked her up from here her juice cup was filled to the top how I had filled it at home. They go out for park play 2-3x a day the school says. When I picked her up she downed her bottle completely and asked me for a OJ from the store SHE FINISHED THE ENTIRE THING. Like if they don't give this their juice or water throughout the day. If you care about how ur child if being treated. Please choose any other center. All those super old 5 star reviews need to be erased bc this experience now is what it truly is. Enroll wisely mommies. Mind you my girl is a ver verbal 4 yr old and communicates extremely well. So she's very capable of telling me exactly what is going on without it being misleading

The large outdoor space on the roof serves as a giant playground and there is a lot of fun stuff going on there, like water games in the summer. In addition, there is a hall for indoor sports, so definitely the kids have a lot of space. Our son is very talkative and told us about every good or bad experience he had. Never did he complain about the teachers or the school per se, and never did he mention that they were just dropped off to watch TV or did he confirm the complaints listed in a review from 2016 on this page. (I recommend you go to Stagg Street to discard complaints listed in the bad 2016 review first hand - those are absurd.) If our son had something negative to report, it was always unconcerning kids stuff like "that boy took a toy away from me." What we are positively surprised with is that we got all this for USD150/week. In our neighbourhood daycares of inferior quality compared to Stagg Street charge 1,800/month or more, places without any outdoor space for example. I am not giving 5 stars here because the engagement of other parents was disappointing at times (e.g. when help was needed for outside activities). Whatever your final choice is, I recommend you at least give Stagg Street a visit!
