They are a great customer focused bank, with amazing customer service. They offer a wide variety of checking and savings accounts to meet each individuals needs. Some of the great perks that come with their checking accounts include: Totally free checking, free first order of checks, free instant issue debit cards that you can use the same day you open your account, no cut off time for deposits, free online banking, free mobile banking, free bill pay, unlimited check writing, and you get a free First Service Bank T-shirt when you open an account as well. They even offer free savings accounts which most bank no longer do. I switched when my old bank wanted to start charging me a monthly fee to continue to bank with them like many of the big banks are doing now days, and am glad I switched. The tellers and agents at First Service know me by name, are always friendly and very helpful to me when I need them. I love that with their accounts, they do NOT deny you an account based on credit score or any other reports that most banks run, they base their relationship with YOU not your credit report and treat their customers with respect. It's just so nice to be with a bank that doesn't try to nickle and dime you every which way they can in order to make a buck. They also offer terrific rates on personal loans and other types of loans. I will be getting a new car soon, and have already chosen them to finance my purchase. Two employees inside and they always say oh well I can't do this or that you'll have to wait. Then it got much worse, me and my children were at a restaurant and my card got declined I knew it was wrong, I tried using my cash card by putting money from my bank account and it said declined we were so embarrassed I had to call a friend to put money on my cashapp card. No call or anything just deactivated it. Called the bank and they said your card no longer works and I said well I authorized all of the things that went through so why she couldn't give me an answer and got rude. Said I'll send you another card. After 12 days I went to the branch and had to take off 1/2 a day bc they close at 4:30! And they said no one issued you a new card. They gave me a temp and then issued a card. The temp worked for ONE day! It's compromised they said and cancelled it. 5 days later I got a notification saying my new card was on the way wait 7-10 another 7-10! It took 17 days to get this card! Then it got compromised again although all of the charges were in fact mine! By this point I'm so angry and I go get money out of the bank to pay bills or shop bc I either didn't trust that it would work or I didn't have a card. Received the new card it worked for a month then today while at Toad suck daze with 2 teenagers it declined im crying talking to this woman while she is so rude telling her there's no charges I didn't make. She said it didn't matter and that they would send me a new card and rush it, yea right. So our weekend is ruined and my rent won't go through so just like before I'm going to be out 150 in late fees. DONT USE US BANK THEY SUCK!

In October 2023, Centennial Bank (d/b/a Shore Premier Finance) issued a loan for the purchase of a…read moresailing catamaran. The loan was discharged with Shore in November 2023, because Shore discovered that its broker had engaged in fraud/forgery to obtain the loan and it was thus void. Centennial has failed to file a satisfaction of mortgage with the USCG and continues to illegally encumber the vessel. Shore's attorney, Jason Manning at Troutman Sanders, has threatened me with a harassment allegation if I do not cease my efforts to get Shore to comply with the law. Do not do business with this shady organization.

I do hate that when I write someone a check, they are forced to go inside the bank to cash it, but a lot of banks are doing that now and it's understandable for security purposes. Overall not a bad bank at all. The only thing that I really find offensive with this financial institution is their policy on overdraft charges. They love to preach how they are a local bank and care about their customers but this really isn't the case when it comes to overdraft charges. For example I noticed a review from this older woman on a fixed income. She had used bill pay every month and always chosen the 3rd for her withdraw date for her local utility bill. Well one month while trying to choose a date on the calendar she made a mistake and chose the wrong date which resulted in a few overdrafts on her account. When she attempted to contact the bank after being a long standing customer they refused to refund the overdraft charges. Now for a senior citizen who was a good standing customer and could clearly show the bill withdraw date every month as being the same it was a simple mistake and the bank could have easily accommodated her as a one time courtesy like most other banks would have but they chose not too and for that reason I have lowered their rating. Don't preach home town values and locally owned and how you should bank with them because they aren't like the big banks when it comes to things like this and yet don't keep your word when even Bank Of America would have taken care of a situation like that as I know from personal experience.
