Do not get sucked into buying a Universal Variable Life Insurance product... especially from Ameriprise. They are extremely risky and the financial adviser earns large commissions on these products. Therefore there is a significant conflict of interest. My personal recommendation is to steer clear of Ameriprise in general. Simply put, their products are over priced and the customer service sucks. When I moved my money to USAA, which I actually highly recommend, the process was extremely painful. I had to constantly micromanage the process.
