Arteen is an owner-operator who takes pride in his work, and the quality shows. We've had many paint jobs done in different homes over the years, and his attention to detail really stood out. He was careful to keep everything clean before and after painting. For example, he removed every light switch, outlet, and fixture, cleaned them, and carefully put everything back. We were impressed enough with his attention to detail that we also asked him to take care of some additional home improvement work that wasn't related to painting. He was flexible about working around other vendors who were in the home at the same time, and he communicated clearly throughout the project. We always knew when he would be there, what he planned to accomplish, and what had been completed. He is also a genuinely nice person and a pleasure to have around. We would definitely recommend Arteen and will certainly call him again for future projects.

He put significant time into the prep - ensuring he wasn't glossing over existing problems - but instead repairing stucco, patching, sending, prepping, working alongside other vendors. He used the highest quality paint and the house went from clearly needing paint to looking brand new. Highly recommend. Job was on the exterior of our two story house with mix of wood siding, stucco, and trim. Excellent communications and attention to detail.

Stubbins Painting - Stubbins Painting

Not only was their bid the lowest, they were the fastest, completing the job in about a week whereas others were quoting me three weeks. The reason: they brought in a big crew, and were able to maximize the efficiency of the prepping and painting. After they had started, we learned that our crew was driving up from the San Diego area every day. Yet they still arrived early and worked until late afternoon day after day-- a level of effort I rarely see -- and were upbeat and pleasant throughout. We had some spots that were difficult to reach, and they found creative ways to get to those too. Painting can get messy, and they left the property in pristine condition. I will call them again when I need professional painters.

Very Disappointing Experience…read more We hired Stubbins Painting to paint our entire house. We chose them over lower-priced quotes because of their strong reviews and, more importantly, the promises they make about their service: 5-year warranty, 100% customer satisfaction, experienced in-house painters, and no subcontractors. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. From day one, we made it very clear to Mike that we had a very tight schedule and needed the house completed within a specific timeframe. The project took much longer than expected. While we were at the home, we discovered that Stubbins had hired different subcontractor painters to work on our house, despite their website specifically stating that they use in-house painters and no subcontractors. The situation was made worse because the subcontractors failed to show up multiple times, causing additional delays and making it extremely difficult for us to manage our schedule. The work also appeared rushed initially. The walls were not properly prepared before painting, and paint was applied over imperfections that should have been addressed first. We continue to find chipping paint, inconsistent coverage, and poor finishes, including inconsistent painting in the kitchen. The minor drywall work that was specifically quoted was another major problem. It was done crooked, tilted, and not properly leveled. We ultimately had to spend a significant amount of additional money hiring another professional to correct and complete the work. What is most disappointing is that the company did not stand behind the promises that influenced our decision to hire them. We repeatedly brought the remaining issues to their attention and requested repairs, but problems continue to remain unresolved. We paid more than other quotes specifically because we trusted Stubbins' reputation and promises. Unfortunately, the actual experience did not match what was represented to us. I gave this considerable time before writing this review because I wanted to see whether the company would ultimately take responsibility and resolve the issues. Unfortunately, that has not happened. I would never hire Stubbins Painting again. I strongly recommend making sure you fully understand who will actually perform the work, who will supervise it, and how warranty issues will be handled before hiring them.

We were going to have the paint job done as part of the addition/renovation, but after almost a year and a half with no progress, we decided to get the exterior painted so it's in better condition and MUCH prettier to look at in the meantime. Our contractor for the addition had quoted $20K for the paint job, which seemed exorbitant. I called the painting company who had painted our previous house 4 years ago, and he beat that by $4K, which was a vast improvement but still a bit of a financial pinch. I contacted Aqua, and Mohamad came out pretty quickly. He did a thorough walk-around to see what we needed done and where the problem areas were - and there were A LOT of problem areas. The previous owners had neglected this place for quite a while, and there was even one exterior wall that they hadn't bothered to paint at all on their most recent DIY job of it. It had a chalky peach color paint that came off on the finger when we rubbed at it. Mohamad described all the work they'd do to prep the surfaces properly and the paints they would use for a durable paint job. Then he gave us a written estimate with all of the prep, painting, and cleaning steps delineated clearly. I was hoping we'd be able to save a little more, or at least get a comparison to know we weren't overpaying our previous company. Mohamad beat their price by over $3500K for the basic paint. It was $800 more for the premium paint. We jumped right on that and got scheduled for the paint job. They ended up having room in their schedule to start a week sooner. His crew came out and got right to work prepping. They worked quickly but with precision, getting eaves sanded and primed, getting rid of the old peeling stucco, and patching where needed. We'd also asked them to remove the old metal awning over the bay window in front. When they did, they discovered some of the trim had deteriorated, and they replaced it at no additional cost. The quality of their work was excellent, and we were thrilled with the results. My husband also said that afterward it was by the cleanest we've ever had workers leave our property. If you're considering Aqua, I can't recommend them highly enough.

We were looking to repaint our house, full interior walls, ceilings, doors, etc. and a partial exterior paint job to touch up the walls after replacing all the windows and a door in the house. Since the company that painted our house multiple times in the past closed with the retirement of its owner, we were looking for another painter just as meticulous and quality oriented as the last. We generally get our referrals from friends, neighbors and a local neighborhood on-line forum. This is where we first learned of Liquid Oak Painting. As we researched the forum reviews and reviews from other sources, Liquid Oak emerged as the closest thing to the experience we were seeking. Other customers found Paul and the crews he works with to be quality oriented, easy to work with and collaborative during the process. Before going through the proposal process and verifying insurance coverages, we met with Paul and Fernando (the crew foreman on our job) to assess the scope of our job and establish the basis for a price quotation. They were thorough going over all of the repairs we required for preparation, the special requests I had to fix damages from the recent door/window replacements and where we did not want to paint. We were very comfortable working with Paul and Fernando. Our primary concerns about this job were our two house cats who have never been allowed outdoors, choosing a color pallet and figuring out how to live in our house through the commotion and clutter of a house-wide repaint. Paul and Fernando were very helpful and collaborative helping us come up with a work staging plan, a beautiful color pallet and a plan for the cats. The job proceeded smoothly, according to plan, with Fernando and his crew taking a genuine interest in our satisfaction with the work as the job progressed. To help minimize our inconvenience and keep the job moving, Paul even called in a second crew to work with Fernando for a few days to ensure the work was completed on time. When the job was completed, the furniture was all back in place and our house was clean. The paint job is beautiful and we love our color choices. We are tickled pink to have found Paul and Company and look forward to doing business with them again in the future.

Paul came out to assess the situation and gave us excellent advice as to how to repair the damage and move forward with better products. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and we were very confident selecting them among other bids. Angel managed the job onsite and was always available and professional. The work was difficult, sanding all the way down to the bare wood, but it all came out better than we could have hoped. Amazing!! We will use them again for all future painting/staining work. Thank you Liquid Oak!
