Would definitely use them again and would highly recommend to everyone!!

Obviously, I will take my business elsewhere and refinance my VA loan using a mortgage company other than Alaska USA. After calling the number listed online several times on different days, nobody at the Alaska USA mortgage loan department on 36th Avenue (or Jeff Stanford) is ever available to answer the phone. This credit union and its mortgage department have clearly gone "down hill" in recent years.

I was given the mobile number for Cherish, a loan originator. The next day I received a call back, and since then, I have quite literally had to harass them for info. 5 texts, 7 calls, and one BS excuse from Cherish who was "sick", even though the lady in the office told me she was in and on a phone call. Yesterday, I call the main number again, and Cherish answers- only to tell me she is working on closing someone else's loan and SWEARS she will call me and email me. 5:00 comes around and no further communication. I've called three times today and they are literally ignoring my calls, but have answered my call from a different number. I still have no idea what the status of my loan application is, because I've not been able to speak with anyone. I can only assume that I did not qualify, and therefor am not of importance. I've even asked to be switched to someone else to work with, and no response. Totally unacceptable.

Our experience with the home loan process was mostly with Katie Jan as well. She was above accommodating in meeting with us at times that really worked for our schedules. Katie is kind and very interested in couples knowing the process. She spent extra hours meeting with us, answering lots of questions, and exploring the steps that remained. Katie worked great with our realtor Rowena Pediangco! She helped give us advice on some of the better insurance options in town. My fiancée continued to feel heard, respected, and safe through the whole process. Katie worked long hours to ensure the process was met step by step correctly. Some of the money clarifying steps are confusing in general but we worked together through it to make sure the underwriters had everything they needed. Katie was present when we were closing which again is a testimony of her diligence and integrity of her work ethic. All of our talks helped us close informed. Katie and Rowena also worked on items in preparation for closing that benefits us throughout all of 2018! Months of extra support in different financial ways, a major blessing. I can't help but see the one star review and just wish they had Katie. I'm not sure who they went through but we had Katie Jan and we were from beginning to present taken care of. I'd implore you to also trust them, as I know they did an above and beyond service for my family.
