Our family has been at Windsong for many years. All three of our kids are currently attending. We…read morevalue the commitment of their educators, who are deliberate and meticulous with their teaching practices. We value the school community, who are wholesome, welcoming, and supportive. We value the lack of technology in the classroom, which, in this age, is practically unheard of in any other school setting. All these values coalesce into an education where our children are thriving. Resilience is reinforced through small everyday actions that instill perseverance and enable children to push through life's difficulties. The five C's of twenty-first century skills include critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and character. I see this every day with my children and their peers. On field trips, facilitators of the tours have commented on observing these traits too - a testament to the quality of their education. Things that should be highlighted: - In the grades, first through eight, the students travel in a cohort with the same teacher. This builds rapport, year after year, and better understanding of how the child learns best. - It's tech free. No computers, no tablets, no movies. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Kids have their hands on realia. Not screens. - Updates. Parents receive updates from their teachers, snippets of what's happening in the classroom. - It comes with a wholesome community. Friendly, welcoming, and inclusive with plenty of coordinated opportunities to socialize with others, if your family is socially inclined. - The kids are outdoors every single day with plenty of recess time and weekly hikes. In the grades, they take plenty of field trips, locally and further. They camp and take international trips. It's an amazing experience for the students. We're excited to be a part of this school community and look forward to many more years here.

My two children have been going to Children's Montessori Center for the last five years and I haven't witnessed anything discribed as what the last person has outlined - EVER! This is a high end Montessori Center and I feel my children are in a safe and clean environment. I have never walked into CMCI to find my children or anyone else's children unattended. In addition, I feel the staff is very professional and friendly. I have never witnessed any teachers EVER yelling at children or engaging in any inappropriate conversations. My children are excited to go to CMCI every day as they make learning fun. This isn't just a daycare, it's a learning center. My children learned at an early age how to write their own name, alphabet, all the presidents (in order) and continents by the time they were 3-4 years old, just to name a few. I cannot express how thankful I am to CMCI and Debbie Henry for preparing my children for grade school. I absolutely love this school and highly recommend it to anyone. You children will thrive here!

We couldn't be happier we found Spokane Valley Montessori…read more We searched all over town before choosing a place for our daughter. She's 18 months old and our first, and leaving her with people we didn't know felt like a huge step. We were nervous, to say the least. That nervousness started fading the moment we walked in. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and the director was incredible with her. She's a true baby whisperer. She had our little girl feeling safe almost instantly, walked us through enrollment step by step, and patiently answered every question we had about what's normal and how our daughter was adjusting. We never once felt like we were asking too much. We've only been there a short time, and we're already seeing the difference at home. We'd been trying for a while to get her to help clean up, without much luck. Then the other day she pulled every piece of clothing out of her dresser and put it all back on her own. She's also started putting her toys away when she's done playing, without anyone asking. She's clearly picking this up at school, and it's amazing to watch. Her main caregiver is kind, patient, and respectful with the children, and the classrooms are beautiful and well cared for. You can tell this is a place where kids are truly looked after. If you're reading older reviews, know that a new director has taken over since then, and our experience under her leadership has been outstanding. We'd recommend Spokane Valley Montessori to any family without hesitation. We're so grateful we found it.

My daughter attended SVM for nearly nine months, and until recently, I genuinely loved our…read moreexperience there. Unfortunately, today's interaction completely changed my opinion. The school notified parents that it would be closing early due to the smoke and that all children needed to be picked up by 12:00 p.m. I had a work meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. that I could not miss. I immediately contacted the school, explained my situation, and let them know I was actively trying to find someone to pick up my daughter. I have no family in town and a very limited support system. Instead of being met with understanding, I was told by Alexa that if I wasn't there by 12:00 p.m., no one would be there to watch my daughter and it would be considered child abandonment. I have attached the messages so others can read the conversation for themselves. I completely understand that emergency closures are difficult for everyone, and I respect that staff have obligations too. What I cannot understand is threatening a parent who is communicating, being transparent, and actively working to solve the problem.
