Been seeing Dr. Suvarna for 10 years. She is great. Very considerate of the fact that I'm a huge chicken and going to the dentist is my worst thing. Always asks if I'm doing OK, and always let's me know exactly what will be happening. Office help is always friendly too, and quick to respond to any questions. I had never been to this dentist office before, and of course, I was so nervous. Dentists aren't the place most people enjoy going to, unfortunately. I think we all have our horror stories. I was more than pleasantly surprised. They made me feel at ease and comfortable. They were concerned about how I was doing and allowed me to rest in between, due to my jaw problems. I can honestly say that I have never had such an unpainful cleaning. She was so gentle and thorough that it made my visit even more pleasant. Dr Amita has been our family dentist for last 15 yrs. Rarely you can say that you are glad to see your doctor. We do feel it that way. We moved farther from her clinic 10 yrs back but we continue to drive 45mins one way to see her every six months. That's more often than I see my friends All the staff members in the clinic are friendly and decorate the clinic well. It hardly feels like a clinic when you are in waiting room. We always liked the fact Dr Amita kept her clinic open on Sat (twice a month) for distance patients like us. She would be stopping the Sat clinic by end of this year to spend more time with family. I hope we can still visit her during the weekdays. read more

Dr. Suvarna is incredible. I was a 1st time, emergency patient calling on a Friday night. The number I received (on DDS office's outgoing voicemail) was Dr. Suvarna's after hours line. I received a call back very shortly thereafter which was so appreciated, not to mention very impressive. My dental care since then with Dr Suvarna and First Place Dentistry has been just as impressive. I'm not comfortable with dental work, but Dr. Suvarna is so professional, so gentle and thorough. And "Becky" (front office) is fantastic! She has worked so patiently with our new dental insurance and a few "discrepancies" we experienced with our coverage. Dr Suvarna is an excellent dentist. I have had alot of dental work over the years. I've had some good and bad dentists along the way. I've experienced alot of dental pain. Therefore I now have high anxiety when i go to the dentist. I had a big procedure that needed done. I had been putting it off for fear that I would get yet another bad dentist. When I finally got the courage to go see a dentist again, Dr Suvarna was so gentle with me and so understanding. She and her whole staff have made going to the dentist a positive experience. I've been going to Dr. Suvarna for over a year and she is great as well as her team! I am always greeted right away and never have to wait. I think once I waited for 5 mins. As soon as I am seated, they are very friendly, always ask how my daughter is, and just overall make it very comfortable. During my cleanings, they always check in with me to see if I'm okay and comfortable. Luckily my pain tolerance is high and imagine if I was in pain or uncomfortable they would assist me to fix that. Most of all, I trust Dr. Suvarna to offer me good advice. She's even helped me understand my dental plan better #adultingishard #whydonttheyteachthisinschool I've heard some horror stories of dentists suggesting surgeries and things that are uneccessary just for the money, so I really appreciate having one that I trust. First I'd like to point out that this dentist is the best I've experienced in regards to patient comfort. In NO WAY should you let Amber L's review sway you from trusting Dr. Suvarna because frankly her review is BS. I have a small mouth and Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) which pretty much means my jaw is always sore. Dr. Suvarna was the first dentist to stick a "bite block" in my mouth to alleviate the jaw pain while she worked on my filling. She also makes sure you are completely numb before drilling so there is no pain whatsoever and as a bonus she uses an assistant to speed up the process. I recommend her to anyone who wants an affordable dentist that truly cares about your dental health. read more

Hands down the best dentist Ive ever been to. For most of my life I lived in Alameda so I went to a dentist there that I was very loyal to even though they didn't always do a good job. Moving to Antioch made me have to switch dentists and I'm SO glad we chose Dr.Suvarna. By the time we found her I had seven yes SEVEN cavities that had developed and I was super terrified of getting them filled because of a bad experience I had had with my old dentist. When I tell you I experienced ZERO pain I'm not lying. The way Dr. Suvarna numbed me was way different than my previous dentist. She was gentle while filling the cavities and communicative the entire time. Her assistant is funny and warm and they both made me feel super comfortable. Not to mention a few weeks before she dealt with my very afraid 4 year old, whom she was able to calm down and get his cleaning done.
