Sometimes a first cutting is not all you planned however getting the cut exactly how you want it, first visit can be a challenge for any barber. Just let your barber know and adjustments will be made. I have been happy with my haircuts from the get go. I also agree with Robert J. Fast, friendly, very affordable and never a long wait. Here is the best part. There are often friends and neighbors in the shop who are not there for a hair cut but to socialize with each other. Reminds me so much of my youth growing up in the small town of Yreka where our best friends ran the only barber shop. Think "Mayberry" and you'll understand. If your looking for a fancy "Manhattan" style shop well you'll probably be happier somewhere you can help with their overhead.

Great Old-School Barber shop, great experience, great value!…read more Yesterday, Tuesday, 10 January 2023, was my first visit to the Cottonwood Barber Shop. It was very well worth the 26 mile round-trip from Redding for the experience and the haircut. If you like authentic barber chairs, good conversation, authentic small-town feel in vintage barber shop building from the 1800's, then you'll love Woody's place! Jennifer did a fantastic job cutting my hair. There was no waiting when I arrived, but, given the conversational atmosphere, I would have gladly waited. I just found my all-time favorite barber shop and look forward to the my next visit!

"Kelly"here at Avant-Garde returned my phone call in a day and scheduled me only a day or two afterward. I don't know how she is with electric razors, but I prefer scissorwork. She could be charging more--you're getting your money's worth! I'll be back.

If a customer takes the effort to review services received, the review should be posted. With that said, I am writing my review of my salon experience earlier today. My appointment was with Brandi and the service was fabulous. Picture a 66 yo woman who let her hair grow to below shoulder length with split ends, dry thick hair and more salt than pepper. Brandi took her time and hair color recommendations to provide a warm brown color with natural looking highlights. I've had my hair styled in top salons in San Francisco, LA, Sacramento and the East Bay and never had a stylist take the time and effort in making my hair shine again. I should never have let my hair deteriorate as I did upon retirement. I am looking forward to future pampering by Brandi. Thanks for making me feel and look younger than my real age. Love the Do! One stylist left and I switched to ***. Not mentioning the name as she is a super stylist. Just not great at calling back and making appointments. I called 4 times in a week and half. The receptionist said she was with a client and would get back to me. 4 times, no one ever called. I'm an existing customer and I Knew she wasn't taking new clients. Wish I could do that when I have 6 total care patients and suddenly 2 come from ER! " sorry, I'm full up!" Guess hair is more important than saving lives! I called back one last final time a few days ago. Again I was told she was with a client and would call. I mentioned how disappointed I was with the service from her after many calls. I was going to write a review on Yelp. Knowing she wasn't calling back, I left the house. Surprise! I guess Yelp threw her over the edge to call. I had left for town and missed the call. I did not make an appointment with her after all this. She not the only great hairdresser in 3 counties. She apparently just thinks she is! I
