Although I am not reviewing as a client, I am leaving this review as a future client of Root…read moreFinancial Partners. If you're reading this, then most likely you are on the journey in getting better informed financially for retirement. And because you're looking up Root, then most likely you ran across videos of Ari and/or James on YouTube just like me, or on Podcast. When I initially started researching retirement for my wife and myself, I was fortunate enough to have "the algorithm" direct me to Root with James and Ari. The more I watched their videos, the more I became informed of answers to questions I did not know I had. What really drew me in to watch more of their videos, was their holistic approach to retirement, which was an option I was never aware of. And combine that with their ability to explain complicated strategies using their software with real case studies was a bonus. Anyways, back to the review... I reached out to Ari directly via email, and to my surprise, he responded directly to me (I was expecting a form letter). He personally answered the general questions I had and we scheduled a meeting to determine if they can bring value, to justify their fee structure. Unfortunately, when he reviewed my current portfolio structure/allocation in detail, he was honest and said they could not bring value to justify their fees. He then proceeded to offer some guidance to other advisors they recommend, and further explained how specific advisor strategies would be better attuned to my needs in the near term. I really appreciated his candor... But what really stands out is his willingness and continues to help as much as he can, of course without providing specific investment guidance. Up until now, even though I'm not a client, he continues to take the time to respond and answer questions I have from time to time. And not just basic answers, but simplified, detailed video explanations for a better/easier understanding. I can go on with this review, but after a while, it might sound too good to be true. All I can say is reach out to Ari (Root), and you'll see what I mean. Once we're closer to retirement and can take advantage of the holistic approach they provide, we'll be sure to reach out again. Thanks again Ari!

Working…read morewith Michael has been one of the most valuable decisions I've made for my financial well-being. From the very beginning, Michael took the time to truly understand my goals, concerns, and overall financial picture. He doesn't just give advice -- he educates. He has an incredible ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear, approachable way that actually makes you feel confident and empowered rather than overwhelmed. I've learned so much through our work together, and I now feel far more informed and in control of my financial decisions because of him. What truly sets Michael apart is how much he genuinely cares about his clients. It's obvious that this isn't "just a job" to him. He is incredibly hardworking, detail-oriented, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure nothing is overlooked. He is thoughtful with his recommendations, patient with questions, and consistently proactive in offering guidance and insights that are tailored specifically to my situation. Michael has been a trusted advisor through important decisions, and I always feel confident knowing I have someone so knowledgeable and dedicated in my corner. He follows up, checks in, and makes himself available -- which speaks volumes about his commitment to the people he works with. Working with him has been an absolute game-changer for me

Feeling financially stuck? Overwhelmed with credit card debt? High interest rate loans…read moresuffocating any progress? Insomnia? 6 months ago I was staying up all night worried about my family's financial future. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack or stroke from the stress. So, how did we get to this point? Business was affected by Covid. My wife was laid off so our income was slashed in half. Started racking up credit card debt. Paying the minimum. Then, there was the financial burden of taking care of elderly parents. I tried debt consolidation but it would take multiple years to pay down the overwhelming mountain of debt compounding like a pounding headache of misery. I felt trapped in a circle of debt, barely getting by month to month with cost of living going up. Then I met with Michael to pick his brain and discuss my options. Our best strategy was to file for chapter 7 bankruptcy. To get a fresh start. This was the best choice for us. Highly recommend talking to Michael and Tamara to just review your options. Worst case at least you will have some clarity of what solutions are out there. Michael held our hands and walked us through everything. Tamara does most of the heavy lifting. She is amazing. Much respect to Tamara's patience and diligence. She told us exactly what was necessary to file so the process was easy and smooth. I spent many hours to get all my docs in order per her request. So, dont be lazy and get your stuff in order. John is the confident lawyer. Straight shooter. Decades of experience with the trustees. Highly recommend a lawyer to file instead of trying to do it yourself. 4 months later. Discharged over $200K of debt. Now I can sleep at night like a baby. Thank you so much to FCC. I feel like I got a second chance. God bless America for having a system that allows qualified debtors to get a "fresh start". Much gratitude.

Today we attended a tax seminar hosted by Marshall Life & Financial Solutions (MLFS). Victoria…read moreMarshall opened the session with brief remarks, followed by Adrien Barajas as the lead presenter. From the outset, the presentation was incoherent. Adrien jumped erratically between topics, clipped terminology mid-sentence, and attempted to showcase expertise through jargon that ultimately backfired. His use of a graph depicting tax history and national debt felt performative rather than informative--a clear turnoff. Mentions of Roth conversions were casually dropped, seemingly to entice attendees into future consultations rather than to educate. At no point did either presenter cite their professional credentials, nor are any verifiable designations listed on their website. This lack of transparency raises serious concerns about the legitimacy of the material presented. The venue--a community room at the local library--was poorly maintained. We were forced to relocate due to visibly dirty tables and stained surfaces. The acoustics were equally problematic: excessive echo and ambient noise severely undermined any attempt at meaningful communication. It's unclear why MLFS couldn't secure a venue that meets basic health and presentation standards--such as a clean, carpeted hotel conference room with proper sound insulation and equipment. Victoria encouraged attendees to grab snacks as the session approached lunchtime, triggering a chorus of crinkling bags and chewing that further disrupted the already fractured delivery. Overall, this seminar failed on every metric: content quality, presenter skill, venue hygiene, and professional credibility. Within 15 minutes, we were compelled to leave--astonished by the lack of coherence and institutional rigor. It was, without exaggeration, the most poorly executed seminar we've ever attended.
