Friday evening, I used their internet portal to make an appointment for Saturday afternoon. I also filled out the paperwork online. I checked in and was taken back by Kristin. She took my vitals and went over the reason for my visit. Kat came in, gently examined me and went over everything. She explained what my treatment options were and was so sweet about everything. Both healthcare professionals were wonderful. I couldn't have asked for better. The front desk ladies were sweet and professional. I was in and out in about 25 minutes. When I got home, I realized I had a question and called but Kat was with another patient so I left a message. I was called back and my questions were answered quickly. This place is wonderful. My family usually goes to the First Med on Kelly but I wouldn't hesitate to go to this location in the future. read more

The people are very nice, but ineptly slow. My rapid result. Took a Covid test that was supposed to take 15 minutes to get results. After falling asleep in my car and waking up 45 minutes later I called them from the parking lot to get results and a printout. I was told to wait in my car, they were printing one out "right now". 15 minutes later I walked in to find out that the tech still hadn't, and got a copy from the very nice receptionist. If I hadn't Initiated conversation, who knows how long I'd be sitting there? Giving them the extra star because the receptionist was so nice. read more

Initially, I went there for swelling and pain in my hand, arm and knee due to a fall in downtown OKC. The entire place is top notch! I was greeted by a nice person, Trinidad, led back to the exam room by a kind medical assistant, taken for 18 x-rays by a professional, kind x-ray tech., and finally seen by Kat, a professional, extremely knowledgeable Physicians Assistant. We have been in Edmond about three months after leaving our home in Arizona. The state of Arizona needs to take a lesson from this clinic on how to treat patients!! I called this urgent care to make an appointment for a covid 19 test. I had been seeing emails from my insurance provider that should I need a covid test, it would be covered in full. I get on the phone with them and the lady explains that it will be $100 plus another $50 for the copay. I explain that I have insurance and that it should be covered. Nope. Mind you, I had called all over town trying to get a rapid test and this was the closest location. I called my insurance provider once I saw the claim on the Aetna app (saying that I owed another $50) and they said they would make sure I got reimbursed in full, and that it is indeed FREE for patients. We're in a pandemic and they should not be making patients pay for anything covid related UP FRONT. Had I not called and done my due diligence, I would be out $200. read more

I had an appointment to get my second shot, they called everyone except me the day of to cancel all their appointments so I showed up for no reason and was told to come back the next day; I showed up today trying to get my shot and they denied me because I wasn't given a new appointment. It's not my fault the staff didn't do their job properly yesterday. read more

I was told this place was open until 7 PM. I just got in town from my semi driver run to and from Amarillo Texas. Arrived at First Med on Pennsylvania next to Memorial Road at 6:20 PM. I went in to get a Covid test and I was refuse service because they were closing at 7pm and it was 6:20pm. I expressed that I had a temperature today of 105.2 and I was refused service. There were only two people inside the building seeking Covid tests. This was totally uncalled for and ethically wrong. read more

I had a great experience at this Urgent Care location. I was able to get an appointment ahead by 'holding my place in line' from their website. I arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. After filling out the paperwork I was taken back within 10 minutes and out the door in a total of 20, prescription in hand. A few months ago, I went to the First Med Urgent Care in Edmond, off of Kelly, for a COVID test. The staff came out to my car, asked me a few standard questions, "Have you experienced any symptoms?" and "Have you been exposed to someone that has tested positive?". The most basic standard of care for any COVID testing sites. Three months later, I receive a bill - not for the COVID test which insurance covered - but for the 'New Patient Office Visit' that was billed at a 'Level 3' for $190. A swab at my car door does not constitute as a Level 3 visit, so if you want to go to a medical facility that will up-charge you for their profit, then this is the place to go to. read more

The whole staff was amazing and genuine and their attitudes themselves made me feel better. However, I have to say the doctor was hasty and unprofessional. Arguably the worst health care experience I've had. I arrived with an extremely stopped up ear accompanied by an intermittent "fluttering" sound within the ear. No pain, no fever, no sore throat...or any other symptoms. The fluttering and congestion had worsened over a two-week period. I had tried candling my ears as well as a saline flush. Neither worked. I needed relief quickly and , as it was a Friday, couldn't wait to get an appointment with my family doc. I was third in line, which I expected. I actually got into an exam room fairly quickly. The tech was also quick to take my vitals. Then the wait began. I could hear the two other patients being treated and released, then a long period passed during which the PA (Steele), the receptionist and the tech discussed their weekend plans, lunch and basically yucked it up for 15-20 minutes while I waited. Finally the tech returned to do a strep test. I asked why I needed this test and she replied that the PA ordered it because often an earache indicates strep. This was news to me. Having had strep many times, I was familiar with the sore throat and fever that I normally present with in a strep situation. This wasn't it. I let her do the test, hoping that it would finally prompt a visit from the actual PA. Naturally, the strep test was negative. When I finally did see Dr. Steele, she quickly looked into my ears and told me that I had an ear infection and that I had made it worse by trying to unstop my ears myself. She was very rude and short with me, ordered a round of Amoxicillin and promptly left the room. I took the antibiotics over the weekend and had no relief. I was able to get in with my own doctor the following Monday. After explaining my symptoms, he took a good, long look at my ears and knew immediately what the real problem was. There was no infection, but my eustachian tube was closed shut. He gave me several options for treatment including a steroid injection or waiting up to a month or two while taking Singulair and Flonase. I chose to wait and use the antihistamines. He also said I should cease taking the Amoxicillin. After about a month, my ear has cleared up and I am hearing fine. I think for some ailments, the doc-in-the-box is a fine option and some are definitely better than others. I cannot, with any good conscience, recommend Dr. Steele at First Med of Edmond as I feel she is more interested in ordering unnecessary tests and prescribing ineffective drugs in order to get patients out the door. read more

Do not recommend to anyone. This place lacks professionalism. My aunt sprained a muscle in her leg so we went to this clinic. She's visiting from Mexico but she presents her ID. They say "yeah sure come on back" but she doesn't even go into the room when the doctor said he can't treat her. He doesn't even look at her, doesn't examine her, doesn't know what's going on. A nurse just comes and says to go to the emergency room.... that it's protocol....when your website says it treats injuries.... it's just baffling that the doctor literally did not see her and sent her away. It was disgusting, their behavior. No one should be treated like that. read more

I was astounded by the lack of professionalism and care by the back office in particular. I was called back and the nurse asked me questions about my symptoms- like she gave a crap- it was written all over her face. I then waited for the doctor to come in and look at my foot. If the walls are thin or you're just you know, professional, then maybe don't talk shit on the clients coming in. I heard nurses laughing at my situation, and then how dare you come in and act like you care? I was then supposed to be called back the next day with results on my X-Ray and they never called. I called after 5 days of waiting and they were still rude and unhelpful over the phone. I will write a bad review literally everywhere so people know not to come here. read more

I could not believe how unprofessional the back office staff was. I had to sit and wait with a sick child for over an hour in a half and when I opened our door to see what was going on all their staff in the back was just sitting around talking and eating. Then my child was never even seen by a doctor only a nurse seen her which she acted unsure about my child's treatment. We have been at this location before when the Dr would not even come in to speak to us about our medical concerns. I would not recommend this place after this second bad experience. read more

I went to this clinic twice...for the same issue. They asked me to come back in four days if I didn't get better. Then wanted to tack on TEN more days from my second visit for what they knew was a viral infection. I've never slammed a doctor's office door before now. I immediately went somewhere else (on Covell) and felt better within hours of taking the medicine prescribed. The attending nurse was also surly and crabby. The wait was interminable. Several costly and unnecessary tests. This was the absolute worst medical experience of my life, and I've seen my share of doctors. I will never set foot in this facility again. TOTAL waste of time and money. I strongly recommend that you speak with your wallet and, like I did, take your business elsewhere. read more

We have been going to the edmond location for a few years due to their convenient hours and check in online option. My issue is with the billing department! They are not consistent with coding their bills! Four of our family members went to the Kelly location to see the doctor in October 2016. We all ended up seeing the same physician. I get a bill from them and 2 of my family members got billed under "Advanced Physicians" which the insurance company pays as a regular in network doctors visit, The other 2 we billed under "urgent Care" and out of network! How can we (4) people go to the same location, same time, saw the same doctor, and used the same insurance, but get billed differently. Called my insurance company to start there and they explained to me that they did in fact get billed incorrectly and to call first med urgent care billing and have them re-bill them. After many follow up phone called and extremely detailed notes the billing got resolved in June 2016! I didn't write a review then I thought for sure this was an isolated problem that won't happen again! Went back August of 2017 to the same Kelly ave location to see the doctor and once again bill came incorrect. Called in September they admitted that they have been having this same issue with different patients and told me the insurance specialist will be in contact with me to resolve this issue. Last phone call I made was March 1, 2018 and the manager told me she will look into this herself! Issue is not resolved yet! read more
