The staff are always amazing. Today I was warmly greeted by a nice lady. We picked up corn, beans, zucchini and peaches. Service windows and a nice picnic table area have been added facing Chili Ave and there's plenty of parking. I opted for the sweet stack with Oreos, Cookie Monster ice cream and all the works. It was SO good but massive! I could only eat a quarter of it, so it would have been nice if they offered different sizes. Those run about $9. My kids got kiddie soft serve ice creams and my fiancé got the Nutella sweet stack which was yummy too. For everyone it was $29 total. My son got "super thirsty" since it was a hot day and the servers were nice and gave my fiancé a cup of water for him. Unfortunately my other son decided to stick his hands in it and ruin in. I went and asked for another cup of water and they told me they don't serve cups of water and only sell bottled water.... I didn't bother getting it at that point. Any other ice cream place we've been to around town has either a water jug outside or have offered a cup of water, so it was just odd. Anyways, it was good ice cream and I like all the fun stuff they offer.

That quiche was truly the best I've ever had - filled with gluten or gluten-free. It was so delicious that I smile even now at the memory of it! I tried a variety of other desserts and first, can't believe I got to indulge so much in items that I had to forego all these years and second, I truly mean it that these could win any blind taste taste against ones made of regular wheat flour. The women behind the counter though was pretty rude, matter of fact, impatient with us for our first visit. Not one smile or any gratitude for our business. Ordered the meatball sub and the steak sub. She said it would be 20 minutes, it was 45. I'm good waiting but an accurate timetable would have been nice. The meatball sub wasn't good. The meatballs taste more like Italian Sausage. Overly salted, bread hard as a rock 1/5. The steak sandwich was good, juicy and flavorful 4/6. In conclusion though, service is everything, we won't be back.

This summer will be fifth year doing Porter Farms and I love them…read more 1. Best price per pound of any CSA, by a long shot. $330 gets you five months of brown paper bags brimming with organic veggies. 2. Tons of pickup locations, so you can get it anywhere. 3. Just about everything is regular main stream veggies - lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, onions, spinach, zucchini, winter squash, etc. Except for the kohlrabi, I knew what everything was the first time I saw it. 4. Melons are included. Most CSA's have no fruit or it is a separate fee. They are working on some orchards, too. 5. The pick up locations are people's porches, so the veggies arrive and you can get them at your leisure. Depending on your pick-up site, you can get them as late as Sunday morning, which is great if you're gone for the weekend. Our host even puts it in the fridge if you let her know ahead of time and puts it back out at the pre-arranged time. 6. You get to visit the farm once to pick up all the vegetables for your group. The farm is great to see, you meet some Porters, can see their sheep AND you get to pick from whatever extra produce they have that week that didn't divide evenly among the shares. 7. To date, they have never run out of share. You can sign up last minute where as most other shares sell out months ahead of time. 8. There is an early bird discount if you sign up before April 15. Pick up is Saturday after 11am, which is a pro for some and con for others. Sometimes they post the veggies ahead of time which is nice if you were planning a trip to the farmers market before you pick up. If I were to make one change, it would be to allow people to skip a week and make it up later which Native Offerings does. I've got no complaints. I love this CSA. Your pick-up location might not have great parking, but you can't blame the farm. You can get a free guest bag if you want to test it out. Info is on the website.
