    Family and Friends!

I went with my friends and family, what a great spot to gather!! We ordered a bunch of appetizers and they were very good. The place is very nice with a lot of beer choices and TV's to watch sports. our waitress Kara did a great job of getting everything correct. i definitely recommend this place.

So we came here as a group of 3 soon after they opened on a weekday. I like the space and the building, it's got the classic dark wood you think of for this kind of spot. The tables have a little built-in space for the menus, a really smart touch that keeps the menu out of your way while you eat but keeps it handy if you want to try a different beer or appetizer. Our server was friendly which is always appreciated, but someone in the kitchen was screaming profanities. I haven't heard the F word used so liberally in a restaurant before, and while it doesn't bother me much it's very unprofessional. For food I had the Cubano sandwich with fries. The sandwich was decent, not great not bad. The fries were my kind of fries. Great batter and texture. Everyone else was happy with their food as well. We didn't have any drinks, which is obviously a big part of the focus here, but the drink menu was vast and the bar vibes are on point. Overall the food was decent and the space is classic so it's a solid option in the area.

I came here for a work dinner event. There was a private event room booked at this establishment. This was my first visit. I did not know about First Draft before this visit. I had a good experience in my first visit. Located in a nice-looking downtown area of Grayslake, First Draft is a sports bar and restaurant with a modern feel and rustic touch. They have plenty of seating area and TVs for your viewing pleasure. Parking (free) is available in the street or nearby public lots. Since I was here for a private event, the food options were preselected as a buffet for the attendees. The food options included chips & salsa, Italian salad, grilled veggies, chicken bacon wraps, Italian beef with bell peppers in its au jus sauce and assorted cookies. The drinks were of our choice from the open bar. I had a couple of beers from their tap. I tried a Pipeworks pilsner and something Pigs brewing company (sorry, I forgot the brand name) Vanilla Bitchslap amber Ale. Both were good in taste and refreshing. The pilsner was my favorite. Food wise, I tried everything except for chips & salsa and the sandwich rolls for the Italian beef. The Italian Beef was my favorite. It was seasoned and cooked well. It was juicy, tender, and flavorful. The next favorite item was the salad with grilled artichokes. It was fresh and quite tasty. The Italian dressing for it was perfect for the salad. I also enjoyed having the grilled veggies and some of the cookies. The establishment was nice and clean. The service was good. The menu options (from their regular menu), although in the pricey side, are of good variety. They also have Sunday brunch menu and 1/2 off their pizzas on Sundays. I really liked their beers on tap variety. First Draft is a nice place to hang out over for good and drinks. I liked their patio/ balcony seating areas. I bet in summertime, the patio seating is in a full swing. I would go back to First Draft. I liked it. I recommend checking it out.

Liquid Love Tango Hugs And Beyond Burger

Great place to go in Grayslake for beers, burgers, and fun. It's one of the more happening places in town. First Draft, just knowing the name of course, has lots of beers. Maybe it can get crowded but it's usually not that bad to be honest. The food menu includes burgers and fried stuff. Always has a ton of beers on tap for local breweries. It's about $7 a pint. The last time there was Liquid Love Brewery with the Tango Hugs, a lightly sweet one made with tangerine. As for the food, most people will get a burger. We got the Beyond Burger, the main choice for vegetarians. It's about $15 to get one with toppings and a side. This comes with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. Even if it may be a little expensive, it's still a lot of food. The burger is a good amount for a meal. Best place in town if looking for a sports bar atmosphere. It has pretty good prices for the portions. The burgers are the main things to eat on the menu, and there's options for carnivores as well as vegetarians.

My food experience at this location was a bit better than other locations I've tried and makes me excited to come back to try more items. Like other locations, there is plenty of parking and interior resembles a more upscale sports bar. Service is relatively quick despite how busy they are and prices are pretty fair for the quality of food. I started my meal off with Poke Nachos, one of four that I've had in the last few months and this was possibly the best of the bunch. This had a good amount of raw ahi tuna (though a few more chunks would be nice) and added some additional flavors through nori and sesame seeds so that it was a bit less sauce dependent than other versions I've tried. The wontons were super crispy and avocado was nice and creamy. The mix of serranos, white truffle sauce, sweet soy ginger sauce, sriracha aioli, cilantro, and green onions all mixed together to create a great flavor. I was very impressed with the amount of flavor packed into a dish that's only 880 calories. The crispy traditional wings were also cooked nicely, the skin was nice and crispy while the meat was not overcooked. The buffalo sauce was a bit light for me, though good if you aren't looking for something that's too tangy or spicy. The Korean chili garlic had the right level of sweetness mixed with a good amount of garlic flavor and a light level of spiciness. This is one of the better preparations I've had outside of Korean Fried Chicken specialist restaurants. For entrees the Ahi Tuna Crunchy salad is one of the better versions of this dish that I've had as well. The field greens, broccoli slaw, and crispy wontons were a nice base with the soy vinaigrette -- but the star of the dish was the seared rare and blackened ahi tuna. Super flavorful and prepared just right, this was better than the steak I had eaten for lunch and again a very healthy way to pack a lot of flavor into a low number of calories. On the flipside, the kurobata pork sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've had so far this year. The berkshire pork isn't super fatty, but just enough to have a great level of tenderness and flavor when grilled. The candied bacon, white american cheese, and house-made blueberry ketchup did a fantastic job of adding some saltiness and just a bit of extra fat (without seeming excessive) and giving the dish just a little acid. The total combination worked perfectly in harmony and is worth making a special trip to eat again. I ended the meal with the S'more brownie meltdown. This was done well -- with a nice fudge brownie that had great chocolate flavor and matched perfectly with the graham cracker toffee. This would've been the highlight of the dish, had it not been for the delicious combination of the marshmallow gelato and dark chocolate sauce. I'm not a giant fan of marshmallows, but this gelato was amazing and tied everything together perfectly. Overall, an unexpectedly great experience from a restaurant chain that I've gone to many times. Without a doubt, I know which location to take my friends and family to for special meals in the future.

Our server Lindsey was new but they were absolutely amazing! We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an aappetizer and they were very tasty with the Gochujang sauce. It was crispy without being burnt. For my entree I have the Korean cheesesteak. The meat was sauced perfectly and the pairing with the green onions and kimchi brought it together nicely. I upgraded to truffle parmesan fries. We ordered fish and chips, mix n match tacos, chicken and pancakes and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ate. They also do a little something special for your bday. Parking is not big enough so you have to get lucky. If you're big on beer this is the place ro go to try lots of different options. They also have a good happy hour which is why it was packed when we made it a little after.

We asked to sit on the patio, and the atmosphere was awesome! We had tons of room at our 6-person table, and we had an umbrella, which was a lifesaver for the sunny, hot day. We specifically came here for their patio and entertainment; Brecken Miles was the entertainment, and he was singing and playing guitar. We were not disappointed because he was awesome! Servicewise, our waitress was nice, but admittedly, it took her a LONG time to check on us throughout our meal. There seemed to only be 2 waitresses working the patio area, so, understandably, service was a bit slow. Drinkwise, more than half of our table ordered a Pacifico because they had them on draft and in a can, but our waitress came back 10 minutes later telling us they only had one can left and were all out. Three of us ended up ordering a different drink, and thankfully, they had many options to choose from. Now, onto the biggest disappointment: the food. I ordered a new Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and it was DROWNED in sauce. Normally, I love a ton of sauce, and when I first got my sandwich, I was excited by the amount of sauce. However, once I tasted it, I noticed that the chicken itself was so tough and overcooked that they probably put so much sauce on it to try and make the chicken more wet. Well, let me tell you, it didn't help at all. I did tell the waitress, and she was nice about taking my food back and allowing me to order something else. I ended up ordering 2 crispy tacos instead. These were fine, but nothing special and honestly very plain. My family was done with their food by the time I got my new meal, but thankfully, we were staying to listen to the music, so it didn't matter too much. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, but I tried my husband's Chicken Caesar Salad, and the chicken in that wasn't very good to me, either. It tasted plain with no seasonings. Overall, I'm sure I will come here again for some type of family affair, but I will be very selective next time about what I am ordering. NO chicken for me.
