Subject: Request for Review of Orthopedic Care Provided by Dr. Graham…read more To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to request a formal review of the care I received from Dr. Graham during my recent appointment for a newly diagnosed spiral fracture of the third metacarpal. At the time of the visit, I was wearing a temporary splint placed by urgent care and was experiencing pain and swelling. I informed Dr. Graham that I did not feel the splint was fitting properly and asked for guidance regarding appropriate immobilization. I was told that the splint "looked fine." When I expressed continued concern, I was advised to purchase a brace from Amazon and to work on making a fist so that my hand would not become stiff. I was not provided with a specific recommendation regarding the type of brace that should be used, nor was I given detailed instructions regarding activity restrictions or warning signs to monitor. Most concerning, I was instructed to return in four months. I specifically asked whether the intended follow-up interval was four weeks, and I was informed that it was indeed four months. A four-month follow-up appointment was subsequently scheduled. As a healthcare professional myself, I understand the importance of preventing stiffness and promoting recovery. However, I left the appointment feeling dismissed and without clear guidance regarding the management of an acute fracture. My concerns were not adequately addressed, and I remain troubled by the absence of earlier follow-up or imaging to evaluate healing and alignment. I respectfully request that this encounter be reviewed and that I be provided with clarification regarding the rationale for the treatment plan and follow-up interval. My purpose in submitting this concern is to advocate for clear communication, appropriate patient education, and high-quality care for all patients. Sincerely, Lakeisha Simmons, RN

The quality care and reassuring communication helped me tremendously. I'd like to specifically thank Dr. Phillip Bell who performed the surgery, the nurses, anesthesiologist, and everyone else at JOI Baptist South for taking such good care of me before, during, and after surgery. My knee range of motion has improved dramatically the previous 5 days and is currently at 115 degrees. No more walker or cane and I just walked a mile today. It's been 5 weeks since the knee replacement. I have a new lease on life! Thank you very much. Sincerely, Richard

I started with Dr. Yurio and after a few sessions of physical therapy ordered an MRI. Turns out I completely tore my ACL and part of my meniscus. I was presented with my options and ultimately decided to have surgery to repair my injuries. I was transferred to Dr. Kaplan and he again presented me with my options. I decided to continue moving forward with the surgery. At no time was I pressured into having the surgery. For my lifestyle and health it made sense to move forward. Fast forward to surgery day - The surgery center is in the same building and is well maintained. I was introduced to several people who would be participating in the surgery and each one confirmed with me why I was there. It was clear patient care and safety was a top priority. Follow up appointments were a breeze. They email any paperwork required prior to the appt. And after check in the most I ever waited was 5 mins in the big waiting room or in the actual room. I saw either the PA and Surgeon during these appts. Both were professional and never made me feel rushed and felt comfortable asking questions. I was in and out in less than 30 mins from check in to check out. I had a positive experience from start to finish with this group of Dr.s and would recommend them. There are several Dr.s with different specialties available. I did see one of the foot Dr.s several years ago, can't recall his name, and did not have the same positive experience.

From looking around, and seeing the other Therapists I would say she's the absolute best. The other therapists are young and don't have any patients hardly ever. I think there are 3 good PTs here and Elizabeth is definitely one of them. Seriously, Elizabeth is amazing. I would only go to her. Only. The management really needs to do something about the younger therapists and front staff. It's bothersome. They're arrogant and if they don't want to be there they don't need to be. It ruins everything there. I see them work with people and they are not happy. This review would be 5 for Elizabeth. Front desk staff ruins it.

The staff at Southeast Orthopedics has been just wonderful too. They have done a wonderful job of obtaining information from my insurance to providing information to my short term disability provider. I started the process of having my knee checked in July. I had my actual surgery in September (would have done it sooner but my hand was in a cast and I couldn't support myself on crutches). It is now December and I'm coming in for a checkup on my knee. My general practitioner sent me to this location of Brooks rehab rehabilitation after discovering…read morethat somehow I had bursitis, tendinitis, and arthritis in both my shoulders and biceps. Following further evaluation by the physical therapist, Rachel Jeffries, that was assigned to my case... I began rehab three days a week for 12 weeks. I was assigned at home exercise exercises and stretches to do as well as see the therapist three days a week in the office. You would think that the exercises and stretches that you were doing to heal your body become easier overtime, but for me, the exact opposite happened. This is not doing anything wrong. It is because I was pushing myself too hard! Rachel was a wonderful PT! Very knowledgeable and very caring in what she was trying to heal and teach me how to heal myself! She was meticulous while determining the range of motion that was increased through her help and also in researching ways that I could continue to improve while at home! While I was under the care of Brooks rehab, I never once walked into my sessions to see that they were overbooked or understaffed! Each patient received personal one-on-one care from their therapist! Rachel was always attentive and ready to correct anything I was doing incorrectly or that could be detrimental to my healing! After 12 weeks, I was released to go back to work with good improvement in both shoulders and my biceps, but not long after I returned to work I had to have rotator cuff surgery on both of my shoulders! Post surgery I absolutely would've returned to Brooks rehab, but I took the easy way out and used the physical therapy team that was attached to my doctor's office at the hospital! Either way, I would highly recommend the team at Brooks Rehab! They provided some of the best physical therapy care that I have ever received!

Today when my therapist called in sick again, I was told I could not reschedule due to my doctor not signing their papers. I told them it's not mine or my doctor's fault, it's the therapist and Brooks for not getting him the paperwork in a timely manner. My doctor even told me in person he would sign it, but hadn't received their paperwork. I am now in limbo, without a therapist, because they won't reschedule me until they get the signed order. If you are a workers' compensation patient, be aware that my experience suggested more concern for the insurance company than for addressing my pain and questions. I was also denied access to my workers' compensation paperwork, which left me feeling uncomfortable and distrustful about how my condition was being reported. I finally googled an orthopedic walk-in as we have them at home and I didn't want to get the flu or something else from a standard walk in. Got there about 11:15 and they let me know Dr Brown was also seeing scheduled patients so it probably wouldn't be until 1 that I saw him. No problem I had expected a longer wait. They took X-rays right away and then someone did intake on me and back to the lobby I went to wait. About 1230 got called back to the room and he came in about 5 min later.
