Review for Nicklous Godley, PA -- Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute…read more this is my first review and I'm almost 70 years old I have been in chronic, excruciating hip pain since September 2024 and have been under JOI's care since November 2024. At my initial visit, I was diagnosed with bursitis and sent to Brooks Rehab for 11 sessions. After completing the rehab, I received no follow-up, no feedback, and no guidance on next steps. Months later, I found out my provider had quit -- but no one at JOI ever contacted me or continued my care. I was left in pain with nowhere to turn. Today, I had an appointment with Physician Assistant Nicklous Godley, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disheartening and unprofessional medical experiences I've ever had. From the moment he learned I wasn't ready to move forward with surgery, his demeanor completely changed. He became dismissive, cold, and disengaged. I explained that I've been waking up every night in pain and asked multiple times for him to complete an FMLA form so I wouldn't face consequences at work while trying to manage this condition. He refused, saying that I'm not a patient of his and that JOI would only consider FMLA after I scheduled surgery -- even though I've been with JOI for nearly a year. In the middle of the conversation, he did say, "I'm sorry this sounds so harsh," but by that point, the damage was done. His words and tone felt completely lacking in empathy. I came in desperate for relief and left feeling ignored and deeply disappointed. There is no continuity of care here, no accountability, and no real concern for what the patient is going through. I cannot recommend Nicklous Godley to anyone seeking compassion, understanding, or true medical support. I felt like he was a used car salesman if he wasn't gonna be able to close a deal by scheduling me with some sort of surgery! He brought up knee surgery back surgery and completely turn very rude and cold because I was not interested in surgery ! horrible experience today He asked and I quote "why are you here if you're not scheduling a surgery" Do your homework before you pick out this guy terrible experience Horrible bedside manner.

First off, the doctors and nurses here would get five stars easily. Every doctor and PA I've seen has been excellent, careful, willing to spend time explaining things. However...this facility has massive staffing issues. You literally cannot get anyone to answer the phone here. I showed up for a morning appointment recently, and the line to check in was 40 people deep, curling all the way around a pretty large room, with maybe three staffers actually working while the rest milled around. I had an afternoon appointment a couple months before that, and when I went to the lobby to check out and schedule a follow-up, there was literally one person working with ten patients waiting. I'm not sure what's going on, but they need to invest in hiring maybe twice as many folks to support the great doctors and nurses here. Otherwise this practice will grind to a halt.

I started with Dr. Yurio and after a few sessions of physical therapy ordered an MRI. Turns out I completely tore my ACL and part of my meniscus. I was presented with my options and ultimately decided to have surgery to repair my injuries. I was transferred to Dr. Kaplan and he again presented me with my options. I decided to continue moving forward with the surgery. At no time was I pressured into having the surgery. For my lifestyle and health it made sense to move forward. Fast forward to surgery day - The surgery center is in the same building and is well maintained. I was introduced to several people who would be participating in the surgery and each one confirmed with me why I was there. It was clear patient care and safety was a top priority. Follow up appointments were a breeze. They email any paperwork required prior to the appt. And after check in the most I ever waited was 5 mins in the big waiting room or in the actual room. I saw either the PA and Surgeon during these appts. Both were professional and never made me feel rushed and felt comfortable asking questions. I was in and out in less than 30 mins from check in to check out. I had a positive experience from start to finish with this group of Dr.s and would recommend them. There are several Dr.s with different specialties available. I did see one of the foot Dr.s several years ago, can't recall his name, and did not have the same positive experience.

From looking around, and seeing the other Therapists I would say she's the absolute best. The other therapists are young and don't have any patients hardly ever. I think there are 3 good PTs here and Elizabeth is definitely one of them. Seriously, Elizabeth is amazing. I would only go to her. Only. The management really needs to do something about the younger therapists and front staff. It's bothersome. They're arrogant and if they don't want to be there they don't need to be. It ruins everything there. I see them work with people and they are not happy. This review would be 5 for Elizabeth. Front desk staff ruins it.

Do youself a favor and just call him, instead of calling around, you will save yourself time heartache!

He is phenomenal! I began having problems with my shoulder 9 months ago. The first 2 orthopedists I saw (not affiliated with Bahri Orthopedics) both misdiagnosed my condition. After 5 months of physical therapy with no improvement in mobility or the level of pain, I sought out Dr. Bohsali. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made! Dr. Bohsali had another MRI done with contrast. It showed a partial tear. He recommended rotator cuff surgery stating MRIs are not 3D and there's no way to see deep inside. He said he really would not know the exact extent of the injury until he got in there. He was excellent at explaining all this to me and made sure to answer all of mine and my husband's questions. Following surgery, Dr. Bohsali informed me I actually had a full-blown tear which was deep inside and was not indicated at all on the MRI. I would have never healed without this much needed surgery. I'm still baffled by the fact I had 2 other orthopedists tell me there was absolutely zero need for surgery! I have now seen Dr. Bohsali 3 times since my surgery and his follow-up care has been excellent. His assistants and staff have all been very friendly and knowledgeable. Since 2007 I have seen a number of orthopedists. I'm a klutz. I've blown out my knee, had trigger finger, broken my foot, and have chronic back problems. I've seen so many orthopedists because I haven't found one I've liked even the slightest bit until I found Dr. Bohsali. Well, other than the one who dealt with my trigger finger, but he only deals with hands exclusively, so I couldn't see him for my other problems. If you ever find yourself with a shoulder or elbow problem, I implore you to seek out Dr. Bohsali as that is his specialty. In the future, I will be seeing Dr. Bohsali for any and all of my orthopedic needs! The only negative thing I can say about Bahri Orthopedics is that there is usually about an hour wait time to go back to see the doctor. But for the wonderful care I have been receiving, I gladly wait!! Thank you, Dr. Bohsali and Staff, for taking such wonderful care of me and also for going above and beyond!

Dr Chandler understands that his patients are in actual pain and need pain medicine on a day-to-day basis to have any quality of life. Going to this office on CR - 210 has helped me be able to work a job. Before meeting Dr. Cartwright, I thought I thought I was going to have to file a Social Security Disability claim because work no longer seems like a possibility. With all honestly, Dr Joseph Adam Cartright has not only provided me with a high level of quality of life that allows me to travel on vacation with my wife and 3 teenage sons but allows me to enjoy my life at times when in the past I only experianced pain without joy during the same situations. I was diagnosed and have received underwhelming care and attention. Today, I went in for a 5th visit. I'm asked by the staff and doctor if I came in for a shot. I say, "Sure." Then, when I see the PA, I ask again about what are my options and plans for further knee solutions instead of just a shot? She has to look at my chart and leaves. Deja Vu, this is what happened during my last visit. *Maybe looking at my chart and being somewhat familiar with my situation after being a client for over a year would be nice and make me feel as if I have a doctor who is involved. Anyways, we talk. I figure out I'll need to keep up with physical therapy. It's a sensible prognosis. I'm sad though because I feel as though I don't have the support I need. I have friends who are clients of JOI and they are being supported and taken care of with shots, plans, and check-ins every step of the way. They have returned to their tennis team while I have not. I've read the other reviews and am glad others have had a great experience. Perhaps if I was getting surgery, I would get more service.

Over the years I developed Scoliosis and Kyphosis. I had a surgery on Nov 22nd that lasted more than 13 hours. Had a follow up Monday January 9th with Scoliosis Series X-rays and conventional X-rays. Mine spine is completely restored to a normal postural position. I'm fused from T8 to S1. 22 pedicle screws and rods. Therapy begins in 6 weeks. Dr Garcia is one of probably less than a half a dozen Neurosurgeons that do this type of surgery. He actually designed many of the instruments necessary to perform this type of surgery. He flustered my husband who was fresh from his 4th surgery on his back. He assumed that my husband was an addict. He never even asked about the pain. He did how ever take a tongue depressor and broke it to a sharp point and proceeded to poke all the scars on his back. My husband could not flinch because he was in such pain from the "doctors" assessment. My husband was only trying to get established with pain management because of his chronic pain that will never go away. The "doctor" also said he was on pain meds too long and he was going to go through withdrawals. But he did not check when they were filled the last time which was 4 months ago. The Botox filled lips of the "pa" was in the room just to show her judgement. I suggest anyone who looks to be helped by these people you need to look elsewhere.
