This is the second experience I have had with Michael at FCFS - 4 years ago I used them to get my mortgage set up and it was a simple (as much as is possible) pain-free process. Today I closed on my refinancing that Michael helped me with... and it could not have been easier. Start to finish has taken just over a month, which is great especially considering this all took place over Thanksgiving and closed a week before Christmas.. I live in Colorado Springs, and Michael was able to conduct the entire process over email. I didn't even have to drive to Denver for the closing! Add in the fact that he really has that personal touch, communicated everything clearly, and answers every question in a timely manner. I cannot recommend Mike Delzer nor First Class Financial Services after the experience my wife and I had. After seeing the positive reviews for FCFS on Yelp, we approached Mike to provide our financing for a home purchase in Denver. We obtained a pre-approval letter with Mike on the basis of our house selling in Texas, but he did not make an effort to put together a back-up plan if we were to close on our new purchase before our sale. Just before we were ready to submit our offer, Mike asked about our HELOC qualification status, a topic not yet even mentioned or discussed. Instead of offering any sort of help, Mike put us on the spot to scramble in getting approved for a HELOC (quite difficult to secure one on a home currently for sale). This is all happening as we find out the house we had an eye on just dropped their price, with three other potential buyers lurking. Time is of the essence. After getting approved for the HELOC, we are once again ready to submit an offer, but Mike asks when my wife will be starting her new job in Colorado. I tell him February, and he informs us we cannot close on the house until she begins with her new employer. Mike knew all along we were planning on closing in December, and that we would be moving to Colorado in January. How he failed to gather these critical pieces of information is beyond me. And, instead of making an effort to find ways around this requirement (and there are, as two other lenders explained), he followed up with accusatory and defensive emails. These incomplete communications, combined with having to provide the same information to Mike several times and reading his numerous spelling mistakes, led us to dropping FCFS. We were pre-approved and had all necessary financial terms in place within two days with our new lender. We're now under contract and relieved we got the home we wanted. Just a bizarre, unprofessional course of events. Cannot recommend. read more

There is no way I can fully express my appreciation for everything Mike Delzer did for me during the home buying process. He is extremely thorough and explains things so fully and so clearly and then he asks for questions because he cares that you understand. I never felt like he was fed up with explaining things or talking to me on the weekends or holidays. Mike does not work the standard M-F, 9-5; he is available when you need him. He is super fast at getting back to emails or calls. I absolutely felt that Mike wanted what was best for me; I never felt that he saw dollar signs when he was dealing with me; I felt he sincerely cared. It took me about ten months to find a place and have my offer accepted and for everything to work out. Mike was there for me through the whole thing; he helped me keep perspective and a positive attitude. He very clearly knows what he's doing and tries to use his knowledge and expertise to make his customers' experience as easy and pleasant as possible. I could go on and on and on and tell you about the banker I met with before Mike, who withheld very important information, information that Mike was very upfront about. I could tell you that our first conversation was on a Friday after 6 p.m. Or that even after he's already made whatever money off me he's going to, he is still looking out for me. The bottom line is I will never use another mortgage broker and I will recommend Michael to everyone I meet, whether or not they're in the market!! How often do people tell you they loved working with their mortgage broker? When we asked around, almost everybody we know either actively disliked who they worked with or were completely meh about them. Not Michael. He's amazing--totally detailed, held our hands throughout the process, highly communicative about everything, kept us up-to-date and completely prepared for the next step and explained everything thoroughly. My husband and I were searching for mortgage brokers for our first time home buying experience, and were debating between Mike and another broker we found on Yelp. When I called the other broker, he barely gave us any insight about the process, and offered to give me an "estimate" having barely collected any details about us... This may seem convenient to some people, but to us it was a red flag he didn't want to meet us first and receive details... When I called Mike, he indulged us as random callers that found him in the internet, listened to our scenario, and told us up front he was going to be asking for lots of items and details in the beginning to make the whole process smooth if we decided to go his way. Bingo, I was looking for a detailed oriented, knowledgeable, demanding, OCD and responsive broker I could trust, not a "buddy." Mike was just that, though friendly, he got down to business, communicated all the time, expressed urgency in documents we needed to provide and was always on top of it. He paid so much attention to us, we wondered how he was dealing with all of his other clients.
