I followed up respectfully every 2-3 weeks to check in, but was accused in an aggressive email written in all caps "DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!!" and of bothering him every 2-3 days. The tone of that communication was unprofessional and unnecessarily hostile, especially given the delays and lack of transparency throughout the process. His excuse was always that he has over 400 clients to "deal" with. Reliability, honesty, and professionalism are the minimum you should expect from a tax professional, and unfortunately, those were sorely lacking in my experience. On April 15 I gave him an out by specifically asking if an extension would be filed, and was told it would be. As of May 10, I have no confirmation or documentation that this was ever done. The lack of transparency, dishonesty about the timeline, and hostile communication made this an extremely stressful and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this accountant to anyone seeking reliable, respectful, and professional service.

To start my old accountant dropped the ball and I did not even contact Wimmer Accounting until mid march. Ryan said he could fit me in. After a few back and forth Emails we got almost everything hashed out between both my personal income tax return and the business tax return for my LLC which he helped me file as an S-Corp. The old account, who shall remain nameless, was doing my taxes through TurboTax. Even though this is not his preferred method Ryan finished up the return via TurboTax. He met me on 4/10/15 (opening day for the Rockies none the less) to finish everything up on my return and E-file it. Super friendly and did not talk down to me with all sorts of "Accountant Speak'. He went over all the different sections and showed me where I had missed some previous deductions saving me over 20% more than I previously had though was possible. I know it is late this tax season but keep this company on your radar for next year.

I explained my entire tax situation each time, and the price he quoted me went from $400 during our first meeting, to $550 the second meeting, to $1000+ a week before my first S Corp return was due. Throughout the process, I had to answer the same basic questions for him 3-4 times (i.e. the type of business entity i had before forming an s corp). Both times we met it seemed like he was taking notes and he had lots of emails and other documents to reference which would have answered all his redundant questions. If you need a reliable, straight-shooter this is not your guy.
