What can you say about someone who asks you to submit all kinds of info and never gets back to you?read more

So the Appliance Guru has called my November review fake. Of course he did, because he is trying…read moreto save face. Why would I waste my time making up a story about an oven ignition system? If my review is fake then how did I know 1) you charge a $100 diagnosis fee that is included in the final price if the repair is made, and 2) that you don't charge by the hour but use the "Appliance Blue Book"? My story is 100% true. He diagnosed the problem as two broken oven ignitors and wanted to charge $400+. I told him to explain the charges and he acted rudely until I asked him to leave. I fixed the "$400" problem ultimately by buying a $20 ignitor on Amazon (go check prices if you don't believe me on Amazon.com) and using a single screwdriver and five minutes of my time to install it. Scott acted like this was a serious job. Meanwhile, once I unscrewed the ignitor cover off, all I had to do was literally unplug the ignitor and plug the new one in. So Scott's response to my review, claiming it's fake to save face, just shows how much of a douche this guy really is. He has now publicly proven he is willing to lie to protect his business too. Not only that, but all of a sudden a few good reviews are posted...only one of which is someone who actually used his service...maybe. This guy is a con artist. Hey Scott, if I'm fake then just ignore the editorial I'm writing for the Intertown Record in the coming weeks....oh shit, that's our local paper isn't it. Too bad for you I'm not only real, but now very motivated.

There are numerous reasons to call someone else for repairs. I called Frank McCloud to fix…read moretable-top range element. The appointment was scheduled between 8:45 am and 10 am. Frank shows at 11 am with an excuse that he had our appointment scheduled for 10:45 am. When I asked him why he didn't call, he said, "I didn't have the right cell number." In his attempt to fix the broken element, he finds a wire unconnected. He reconnects the wire and applies power. POP! the heating element that didn't work before turns bright red followed by a very loud pop. Frank says the ground wire had slipped loose and must have grounded on the metal encasement. Frank then puts the range back together, says it's fixed, receives his payment check and drives away. I literally go over to the range to cook eggs and the burner in question isn't working. WTH? I immediately call Frank to tell him to turn around and come back, but was talking to his "home" answering machine. Frank doesn't have his cell number listed on his business card. Our sense of urgency increased 15 minutes later, when that same element started to heat up while the wafer switch was in the OFF position. We opened the circuit breaker, took power off the range to get control over the element. I continued calling Frank and leaving multiple phone messages throughout the day. They went unanswered. I canceled the check late that night thinking that I wasn't going to hear back from him. When I received a call the following morning, Frank said he didn't get my message until after 8 pm the night before. Frank said he'd be over to fix it later that day with no additional charge. I told him he could but he was covering the $29 check canceling fee. He was affronted, said his integrity was questioned and wanted to part ways. Save yourself the check canceling fee and litany of excuses and refer to another appliance repairman that uses a cell phone. Tenny Mountain Appliance has a cell phone and they say they check messages throughout the day.

After having my dryer for 10 months, the heat stopped working. I contacted Maytag since it is still…read moreunder warranty. They had Frank McLoud from Certified Appliance Repair located in Plymouth NH to contact us to take a look at it. Frank made arraignments to come to our house on a Wednesday, we made arraignments to have someone at our house, (the person drove 1hr 10min) to make sure Frank could be let in; Frank never showed up nor called. My husband called Frank, leaving a couple of messages on his phone wondering what happened. The following day Frank called, apologizing that he got caught up at someone's house and by the time he got home it was too late to call us. He made arraignments with us again on Friday. Once again we made arraignments for someone else to be at our home to let him in, and once again he never showed up or called. That evening I called him at 8pm, after his wife informed me that he was busy playing with his grand kids, Frank got on the phone, he told me he was having computer issues, and had to work it out that's why he didn't stop in. I asked why he didn't call, and he said he lost our number, but then mentioned he found our number on his table along with our cell number, and work number. He was going to call me back at home Saturday morning first thing. Today is Monday and I have yet to hear from him. I have put in a complaint with Maytag, who transferred me to another appliance repairman. I don't understand the lack of customer service, nor the care, but I can advise due to the lack of interest and professionalism I would never recommend anyone to this gentlemen, and hope others think twice after reading my post.
