When we moved to Florida about three years ago, we were hesitant about finding a new church, simply due to past experiences. On a whim, we tried FAM Church. And we've been here ever since. The people of the church truly make you feel like a part of their family. They know no strangers! But they're not over bearing at all. Trust me; I'm pretty darn introverted; if it was too much, I never would've gone back. But they were just the right kind of friendly and just the right kind of welcoming. And, most importantly, they've got the right kind of love for Jesus! Pastor Brian teaches sermons that are deep and moving; I have no shame in admitting that I'm often moved to tears here and there. He teaches real messages as applied to real life. He's honest and fun and relatable. The kids church is amazing! The kids pastor has a real passion for teaching the Littles about Jesus! So many fun things for the kids! They do pizza parties, games, prizes, snacks, themed days, plays, some awesomely rowdy worship, and even comicon-ish days! For nerds such as us, that's pretty cool. Also, the check in process is safe and secure so no worries there! I feel I should also mention that church is genuinely fired up about making a difference in the community! From a weekly food distribution (groceries distributed to around 200+ families every single week), to free cooked breakfast meals and dinner meals on some weekends, to going out and helping neighbors with yard work, etc. and so so much more, but I fear my review is becoming too long and I'm going to lose you, dear reader. In short, if you're looking for a church, give FAM a try! All walks of life, all backgrounds, all types of people. Show up in your jeans and a tshirt, if want! Most of us do! We don't care! Just come! You won't know until you try!

### Church Review: Where Faith Ends and Partisanship Begins…read more Attending service at Victory Church a few months before the 2024 election left me unsettled--not because of the sermon's spiritual message, but because the sanctuary had become a stage for political endorsements masked as moral imperatives. The pastor delivered a denunciation of the Democratic Party, labeling it as "evil" from the pulpit. What followed was even more troubling: a display of voting records from various pastors, offered as a spiritual compass to "guide" congregants at the ballot box. The message was clear--political alignment was being presented as a measure of faithfulness. To compound the unease, the pastor intimated disgust at the recent Mundani Primary success, casting aspersions on the character and legitimacy of those elected without offering facts, just innuendo. --- ### Ethical Crossroads There's a fine line between moral engagement and partisan manipulation--and this service bulldozed past it. Churches have long played a role in social justice and community uplift, but when a spiritual leader uses their authority to enforce political orthodoxy, it risks: - **Eroding trust in spiritual leadership** by conflating doctrine with party loyalty - **Alienating members** whose conscience leads them to different political conclusions - **Undermining democratic pluralism** by framing dissent as spiritual failure Worship should be a place for reflection, not division. And it's worth asking: when politics hijacks the pulpit, who benefits--and who is silenced?
