I was tired of spending money on repairs for my old garage door, so I called Barmac to see what…read morethey could come up with. The contractor suggested that we take a closer look at their Manor House collection and see what design options would work. There was no problem getting the beveled windows I wanted for the top panel, or finding a durable acrylic paint for the surface. The steel rails used in the door design also impressed me. Now I have a door that's beautiful, sturdy, and works great. I definitely recommend Barmac to anybody who wants to replace an older garage door.

The specialist on the phone, Louis, spent 15 minutes with me to teach me what the issue was and how to fix it (free of charge). The issue is fixed now. This is in full contrast to my experience with other companies: I had the same issue last winter, I called another company and the serviceman who came to service the door opener, changed his mind about the issue several times, trying to convince me to buy a new garage door opener each step of the way while charging me $150 for the service. I will be contacting Markham Garage Doors for future issues with my garage door as their professionalism and fairness was manifested by them helping me with the door opener. Professionals like Louis are rare, and company's that foster such a culture are hard to come by in this day and age. Markham Garage Doors might have forfeited their one time charge by helping me on the phone, but now they have gained a life-time customer who will introduce them to friends and family.

This was one of the worst companies I have dealt with during our major home renovation!!!!…read moreEugene came to our home and provided us with an estimate. We accepted the price he quoted without any negotiation because we were looking for quality workmanship, not the cheapest option. When he came to install the garage doors, he repeatedly complained that he had quoted too low a price. Unfortunately, the quality of the installation reflected that. The doors were installed so poorly that we had to hire another company to remove and reinstall them properly. There was a gap of approximately 2-3 inches between the door and the wall, which is completely unacceptable. He also installed the garage door opener and programmed the remote, but then took the remote with him when he left. We never received it back. In addition, the brand new opener included an exterior wireless keypad, which he also took, even though we paid the full price of approximately $650 for the opener. I would not recommend this company. If the quoted price is not sufficient, that should be addressed before the work begins, not through poor workmanship or by withholding parts that were included in the purchase. Based on my experience, this was by far the worst contractor we dealt with throughout our home renovation
