My son loved Power Rangers and wanted to sign up for Karate. My wife and I shopped around for price, location and quality and we found FCMA. After a year, my son no longer likes Power Rangers, but still loves Karate! The Dojo is getting a bit small in my opinion, but that is completely due to its success. My only complaint (to be honest) is that the bathroom floor is cold in the winter (ceramic tile) when we are in socked feet, but I can live with that. :) The Dojo is cleaned regularly. I have seen it with my own eyes (contrary to the other review). The staff is fantastic! Sensei Chris is a strict instructor who demands nothing less from his students than to do their best and to show respect to the arts and students/instructors at all times. I cannot argue that being a parent of small ones. Sensei Chris is a great leader to his team of instructors. Nothing but great things can be said about the other Sensei's (Brad, Heather, Russ, Kim, Alex and Barb). Each of them have their own speciality and I think their style/strengths complement each other nicely. This is a huge asset for the students. Finally, Sensei Kathy is the glue that keeps everything running smoothly and fun! A great family business. This has become a family activity now. My wife and I have joined and have enjoyed the 6 months of us beating each other up as we both get healthier! I can honesty say that this has been such a positive influence on the whole family. My youngest son now has wanted to join and is also enjoying it and making more new friends. We are enjoying all the benefits that have come out of it. I only wish I had started it sooner! I have spent years in martial arts, and have had the opportunity to have trained under many different instructors. First Choice Martial Arts is certainly the most positive experience I've had in my training. The owner/head instructor is a very accomplished martial artist, a great man, and an unparalleled teacher. In martial arts it is difficult to find someone who is capable of performing the movements to a high degree, and who is capable of instructing them to all ages. The rest of the staff has clearly learned to approach karate in the same way, and are great instructors in their own right. The facilities are kept very clean and modern. I have been attending first choice martial arts for over 10 years now! The sensei's are outstanding! Each sensei has their very own unique talent to teach the students martial arts. They all demonstrate what it is like to be a good leader and positively effect each and every students in and out of the dojo.
