I went in Thursday for a coppery vibe with a shadow root and this was the outcome. #1 I mentioned hair health is most important. They also had to cut off inches of my hair and send me home with hair masks because my hair was in such a compromised state. I sent them this message over the weekend and despite them reading it and posting their usual on social media, I gave them the benefit of the doubt for a response as it was the long weekend after all. Tuesday morning I called them around 10, the manager was to get back to me shortly, I waited another 4 hours and called back again, she was unprofessional and rude and just brushed me off and wanted me to wait until the next day. I wasn't happy with that. Originally I was just wanting a senior stylist to fix my hair and provide a refund. However, all my faith was lost. I said I just wanted my money back so I can go elsewhere. I indeed got a call back and was told to come pick up my refund. I went in, was not greeted, she said not one word to me, handed the envelope and went on with her day, did not even apologize or want to take two minutes to look at my hair! Horrible customer service and lack of care. They were my go to for all services, I cannot believe the lack of care and compassion!

They called me a day or two later to reschedule me, saying they had the 27th available at 3:00 pm. Um, I work? Whatever, after Covid I really needed a haircut, so I took two hours off of work. When I arrived at the salon, I was told, "oh, Maddie called in sick. We had to cancel you." While there was a missed call on my cell there was NO MESSAGE. I'm not sure if this is because I was (supposed to be) a new client, but I was very, VERY annoyed. "We can reschedule you" yeah, okay. So one reschedule already, with time taken off work? He stays on top of new trends and is trained as both a barber and a stylist, so he's got the chops to make you look sharp. Best of all, he keeps things fresh - don't know a damn thing about good hair? Just ask Marc what's up and he'll give you the latest. I tend to know what I want coming into Oaks but if Marc is feeling particularly inspired by something he's seen recently, I'm 100% comfortable telling him to go for it. It's always a good result. Now, is the place perfect? For $25 a cut, yes. That said, I'd like an option to pay $30 -$35 for a 45-minute cut, personally. Taking the extra time to check for straggling hairs, throw in a final rinse before adding product, and then spend a few solid minutes styling until it's ready for a night out would be worthwhile for those of us who appreciate an uncompromising attention to detail. Additionally, this place direly needs a website given it's tucked-away location (with online booking - it is the 21st century after all - and 'before and after' pics to showcase the tremendous talent hiding out in this place).
