I had previously seen another provider twice who only gave me a basic cream that didn't work. Dr. Rigg assessed me carefully and listened to my concerns. Instead of just cream, he prescribed a complete and effective treatment plan including an ATB and an anti-inflammatory. Within four hours of taking the medication and applying the cream, my itching completely stopped and I felt immediate relief. This is not the first time he has gone above and beyond. When you turn comes, the text will tell you which station to go to. Once you arrive at the station, you are greeted by a lab technician who logs you in and performs the necessary lab work. My lab technician was polite and efficient. Wait Time 4 stars: I am not sure if it is always this good, but I only waited 10 minutes. So when I say this team went above and beyond, I mean that in every sense of the word! I had the opportunity to visit this facility twice within just a few days, for two very different and significant medical concerns. Both experiences left me genuinely impressed by the compassion, professionalism, clinical expertise, and extraordinary dedication of the healthcare professionals who cared for me. My first visit was with Joshua, a physician assistant, when I presented with a significant orthopedic injury involving bilateral proximal hamstring tendon tears at the ischial tuberosities, commonly referred to as the sit bones. I was experiencing considerable pain and functional limitations, and I needed someone who would take my injuries seriously and help determine their extent. Joshua did exactly that, and so much more! What impressed me most was his willingness to go well beyond what is typically expected of an urgent care provider. Having worked in emergency medicine for four decades, I understand that most urgent care facilities focus on immediate evaluation, basic in-house diagnostic testing, and referring patients to their primary care physicians or specialists for further evaluation and advanced imaging. Ordering multiple MRIs is not something most urgent care providers routinely undertake, particularly because they are not typically responsible for a patient's ongoing specialty care. More often than not, patients are told to follow up elsewhere, leaving them to navigate referrals, appointments, authorizations, and additional delays on their own. But Joshua was different! Rather than simply sending me home with instructions to follow up with another physician, he took the initiative to order several medically appropriate MRIs to thoroughly investigate my injuries. And the care didn't stop there! During my second visit, I was also cared for by an African-American gentleman who attempted to draw my blood. Unfortunately, I cannot remember his name, but I sincerely hope management can identify him because he absolutely deserves recognition! I have notoriously difficult venous access. In fact, it is not unusual for me to endure four, five, six, or even seven needle sticks before someone can successfully obtain my blood. After 40 years in emergency and trauma nursing, I can certainly recognize the difference between someone who is simply attempting a venipuncture and someone who demonstrates genuine technical skill, patience, and clinical experience. This gentleman was an absolute standout! He took his time. He carefully assessed my veins. He was patient, gentle, methodical, and professional. He made only two attempts! For someone with my history, that alone was remarkable! But what impressed me just as much as his technical ability was his demeanor. He never made me feel rushed, difficult, or like I was inconveniencing him because my veins. To this wonderful gentleman whose name I unfortunately cannot recall, THANK YOU! My grandparents are old and frail and she is always respectful and hospitable towards them. When I first came into their office, I wasn't too impressed with the staff and did not like that they would sometimes dismiss my concerns but the more I went, the more they realized that I needed explanations to why certain tests were conducted and how that would affect my grandparents. His wife has gone above and beyond to explain to me policies and procedures so I would feel comfortable. It requires patience but Dr. Hoang is worth going to.
