So I decided to do a review based on how someone looking for a new church might view them. Anyway... When I was told about this church, I was skeptical. It's hard to find a good, non-denominational, "come as you are" church where you don't feel like you're being judged on how you look or how you dress. This place was so welcoming and so absolutely loving that even some of my family members who suffer from anxiety felt comfortable. We were told that it was like a big family all worshiping together and it really was -- but surprisingly it didn't feel like you were interrupting a family worship, it was more like you became PART of it. The pastors (Derek and Tammy Sharp) are awesome people. Tammy is the friendliest lady you'll ever meet and Derek [who gave the sermon on Sunday] is energetic and genuine and funny. It's a really young church (I would say that most of those who were in attendance were between 18 and 25) but there were older people to make me feel less self-conscious. :) If I was a young person looking for a church, I would definitely check out The Upper Room. I was a little confused about the music selections and at times I had difficulty following along, but I think that's probably mostly because of my age. I enjoyed the worship music, but didn't quite understand the moshpit-like dancing in the front. It wasn't weird or anything, just different for me. With all that being said, I really, really liked this church and I plan on going back -- perhaps making this THE church I bring my family to. I wish I could give 4.5 stars -- or 4.6. I just feel weird giving someone a perfect score. Update: I am revising my review to 5 stars after attending a few more times and seeing the love and grace they show. Not only did they reach my two sons (18 and 20) and get them interested in church for the first time, but my 18 year old son gave his life to Jesus last night. Absolutely stunning turn of events and I am truly grateful.

God is not a respecter of persons. He will do it for me and you and everyone according to our faith. Just believe! Dr. Ed is truly a man of God to be trusted. He started his ministry 40+ years ago - without one scandal. There are plenty of accusers though- and remember who is the accuser of the brethren. I am a business man with 45 employees and have grown a business from zero to $19M annual revenues following the principals of the kingdom of God and teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This during my attendance of this church with Ed and Nora King as my pastors. I was filled with the Holy Spirit when I was a young Catholic boy, around the age of 8. Other tongues flowed from my inner being before I knew what other tongues were. A "river of living water flowing from my belly". You can have it too! Just ask the Holy Spirit to fill you. It's not a one time thing- it's a continual infilling. Don't pick other good people apart, look at what good they have done giving their lives to others - love never fails. Ask God to forgive you (false accusations with no truth is a sin you know!) and give you a heart of loving and helping one another. Help your brothers and sisters. We are all in this family of God together.

By joining, several opportunities avail themselves for the interested. Praise team, Vacation Bible School, Security team, Ushers, Children's team, Youth team, Baby-Toddler team, Bible Release Time, Men of Action, Women's meetings, Regular visits to the Zion house and the Willows, yearly trips/outreach to Peru, Community pantry, Sheepdog/Karate training, Audio/video team, Hebrew team and the fellowship dinners every 5th Sunday.
