While I wanted to cut down my tree the better ones for our family were pre-cut. They had about four-five different tree type of varying heights. I ended up w an 8 ft tree which was almost double the amount you pay at Lowe's but the experience was worth it and when we got our tree home we didn't have to wait for the branches to fall. Parking was plentiful and we went the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. They also serve hot chocolate, food, and hot apple cider and have good for kids. We will do this again.

As soon as we pulled up, we were greeted by a beautiful field of Christmas trees ready for the season. A young gentleman welcomed us, explained the process, and handed us a saw so we could start exploring. There were so many wonderful options, but we ultimately chose the prettiest Arizona Blue--and she smelled AMAZING. After we carried it over, the same young gentleman and an older man kindly helped wrap the tree for us. Inside the quaint gift shop, we paid for our tree and browsed through all the adorable goodies and festive holiday décor. My son especially loved the complimentary candy canes the sweet older woman insisted he take. Overall, our experience was fantastic. We may have just found our new annual spot for Christmas trees. Willow Oaks is closer to Fredericksburg than Belmont, feels more intimate, and everyone we encountered was friendly and full of holiday spirit. Highly recommend!

It's been an incredibly difficult year for me, and honestly, this place has become a little bit of therapy. Sometimes just walking around, looking at plants, and chatting with the staff is exactly what I need. Everyone has always been friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciate how knowledgeable they are. They have a great selection of plants, including some harder-to-find rare varieties, and their prices are very reasonable. I also love that they're happy to help with repotting or figuring out why a plant isn't thriving. Even with nearly 200 plants, I'm still learning, and it's nice having people who are willing to share their knowledge. One of my favorite things about this business is how involved they are in the local community. From drag bingo with a local brewery to book and plant classes with a local bookstore, I love seeing these collaborations. It's a fun way to discover other small businesses and meet people with similar interests. They've also recently opened a propagation station across the street, and I'm looking forward to attending more classes and events. There's always something new to learn! I know running a small business takes a lot of time, work, and dedication, and I appreciate what Regan has built here. It's become one of my favorite places to visit, and I'm grateful to have it in our community. If you haven't checked them out, I definitely recommend stopping by. Shop local!

Everything I've purchased here has continued to thrive once transplanted at home and exceed my expectations for longevity and bloom.. These are high-quality, healthy plants. I've never had a bad experience here, but originally gave four stars cuz of price. I'm updating to five as I am very satisfied with the cost-to-quality equation. I'll reiterate what I said in my original post: Meadows Farms customer service is exactly the right balance of experts on hand to help without hovering / shadowing while I browse. I like having room to obsess about different planter combinations without feeling rushed. Taking home a new plant is always a bit exciting, and the employees encourage that feeling of happiness in my selection each time. I'll keep coming back and sending all my friends here, too.

Back in 2018, shortly after I moved to the U.S., my husband and I selected three healthy, pink crape myrtle trees at this garden. I personally took photos of each tree and paid a deposit to reserve them. However, when we returned at the agreed pickup time, all three trees had been replaced. Two of them appeared undernourished and in poor condition, and the third one was tall and thin -- completely different from the compact variety I had originally selected. None of them matched what I had chosen and paid for. When I presented the photos I had taken as proof, the owner was dismissive and admitted that he did not know how to say what had happened. Despite this, he still refused to refund my deposit. As someone who had just arrived in the U.S. at the time, this experience was extremely upsetting. It felt misleading and dishonest.I would strongly recommend others take photos and confirm exactly what they are purchasing if they decide to shop here.

This…read moreVeteran-owned flower farm is dedicated to increasing awareness and raising funds for farmed animal sanctuaries. Growing over 70 varieties of beautiful, seasonal flowers nestled in 3 acres (and growing) of gardens to explore, the farm welcomes guests to pick their own flowers, attend flower-inspired events and workshops, learn how to create their own cut-flower garden, or just enjoy the gardens (and pond!). They also have a pop-up flower truck available to rent for your special event. We recently hosted a group (from California, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Nepal) in our Louisa County home to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our daughter called the farm to ensure that they were open for visitors and off we went. Our visit to Hidden Pond Farm was a double-win -- allowing a fun, pick-your-own flowers family activity AND providing beautiful floral decorations for the party. We came back with five bouquets (@ $10 each), a real bargain for the beautiful flowers and the fun activity. Even a 2-year old enjoyed running on the paths next to the flower gardens. We also enjoyed talking with the friendly owner. A few notes -- (1) the farm is open April-October; (2) open dates and times are subject to change based on weather, field conditions, and bloom availability. We recommend calling ahead before venturing out. (3) no pets allowed. (4) professional photography prohibited (unless prior permission is granted). (5) no smoking. (6) restrooms are NOT AVAILABLE. (6) this is a working farm -- so there will be dirt, mud, uneven ground, bugs, and occasionally poo. (7) dress appropriately. Wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes and sunscreen (the gardens are in full sun).
