General manager was up front and honest with me regarding his ability to fix my problem with my Lexus. Not that he couldn't fix it but we would be better off having Lexus look at it as they would be potentially chasing ghosts and could rack up a hefty bill. I really appreciated his honesty and candor. Beware of Firestone on McFarland Blvd. I took my corvette in for a simple oil change, and they literally dropped it off of their vehicle lift, totaling my car. Firestone didn't do anything for a month; They would not file an insurance claim on their end. I had to file a police report and then they waited for me to file with my own insurance company and incur all the negative aspects with filing with my own insurance. NOW Firestone is content to simply pay my insurance company the money they have to pay out to me for a total loss...minus my deductible of course...I still owe that. They may do good work sometimes, but if they damage your car, don't expect anything, anything at all...Firestone completely destroyed my corvette, 100% their fault and I'm the one suffering. This is perhaps the most corrupt company I've ever dealt with. read more

I got a couple of things done here about two weeks ago. Good customer service. Done in a little over an hour.... I came here again two weeks later for some more work and I can't say that I had quite the same experience. Customer service was totally different. I will say it wasn't the same front desk employees as my last time here. No one wants to feel as if the employee is annoyed by their customers. There are plenty of auto shops to choose from. I planned on having more near future services done here but with this last experience, I doubt I will be choosing Firestone again. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! I dropped my car off thinking I needed brake pads replaced, they said they would call me about what was going on, next thing I know they call me and tell me my car is ready. I never received a call with a quote, and never got a quote when I dropped my car off. $500 for brake pad replacement without my knowledge of the price, when I could have taken it down the street to get them replaced for $250 (they quoted me for that). Thinking I trusted Firestone more I take it there only for them to not give me a quote. Then the service manager Ryan lied to me and told me he discussed the price with me. I'm so disappointed... be careful with who services your vehicle. I will never go back nor recommend this place to anyone. read more

Yeah, wish I had read the reviews before sending my daughter over there with an appointment time for a 20 minute oil change. Three+ hours later, she was still waiting while they removed all the tires and were doing an inspection we never asked for. They said they "keyed in the wrong service". Anyways, after she leaves, the oil plug falls out of the car and all the oil drains out of the car. Made an appointment for 12:00pm in the afternoon. I was told on the phone this would take 1 hour max. Now it has been almost 2 hours with the car not looked at. The reason was "the guys work slow". Absolute shit. Couldn't tell the difference between my WHITE 2019 CRV and a BLUE 2009 CRV and gave me the wrong oil - which I had to go somewhere else to get them to fix it. What new car doesn't take synthetic oil? How could you not tell it was not from 2009 when it literally has touch screen controls inside? It's a different color? They also lied to me to say my tires were dangerously worn thin and to buy new tires now. Well, I asked the shop I went to to get my oil fixed and they said it's just fine. This is the third time we've had an appointment with Firestone and ended up waiting almost an entire day. It's ridiculous that you have a 9am appointment for a tire repair, get an update at 11:15, and have to wait until that afternoon for them to replace the tire, instead of repair it. I let it slide the first two times (once at the Daphne, AL location, and once at a Franklin, TN location) but this is obviously a pattern and Firestone will no longer be getting my business. read more

had a a battery problem and one other problem. did not know what the other problem was so took it to firestone. called me to tell my car needed a new battery, which i already knew. i told them that there was something else wrong with my car, the mechanic proceeded to tell me there was nothing else wrong. calls me up about an hr later and says that there is something else wrong with my car. i needed a couple new spark plugs and an engine coil, told me it was going to be $800. i called my dad to make sure that it would be this much before i paid $800. my dad told me it was ridiculous and that he would call them. about an hr after my dad gets off the phone with them and tells them that we are taking my car elsewhere, i get a call from the manager saying that the mechanic made a mistake and that it would only be $300. a $500 mistake. read more

My daughter took her car there on Sunday because it would not start and needed to be jumped. The battery was only five months old so I wanted her to have the alternator and started and electrical system checked. Car sat for several hours when I called for an update, They called my daughter five minutes later, said the battery was bad and to take it back to where she bought it. Receipt claims they checked starter and electrical. Daughter had battery replaced. Today car would not start after driving it. She had it jumped and then when she stopped again, it would not start. Battery voltage shows fine. So Firestone did nothing in terms of looking for the real problem and charged her for a diagnosis that was useless. Little did I know they were leaving my $60k car sitting outside, front row overnight and when u came back the next day, I talked to someone different and I wasn't down for any appointment, nowhere to be found in the system, and it took them 10 minutes to find my keys. I've used this Firestone for years, as a matter of fact, I will be there today. Most of the time the service has been excellent. However, I recently had an issue with my car and had to take it to a mechanic. I have had a lot of work done to my car over the last several months and one of the things that I had done was a tune up at FIRESTONE. Imagine my surprise when my mechanic asks me did I not get the tuneup that he told me that I needed. Yes, I did... well it turns out that FIRESTONE only replaced my plugs. When I ask for a tuneup, I expected a tuneup, which includes the wires. I called and I was told that would cost xxxx more money. Who goes in and asks for just new plugs? I also had an appt which they did not keep and when I came back to get my car, I was told it wouldn't be ready till Monday that they had not gotten to it. I hope today is better. read more

It was Sunday and I made the mistake of saying I needed tires for our return trip to Illinois. I felt like they used that to completely over charge me for the tires. They had customers arrive after me and others who had a prior appointment who received service and were out the door before me/us. Chris was polite and apologized for the long wait. Took my car here because they said they'd throw some new tires on in an hour. It took four. Also asked for two of my replaced tires back because they were still fresh, but got a deal on all four (two of the tires had dry rotted). I had to come back later to get the two tires back, because they conveniently forgot to give them back to me. I find this suspicious because they also tried to tell me my vehicle was not properly alligned. I knew this was likely BS because I had replaced my tie rod a month prior and had it alligned then. So, I took it back to the place I had it alligned, they threw it on the machine. What do you know, it was aligned perfectly. This place is very suspicious. I got a nail in the tread of my tire, so I took it in to get a patch. I should have left after an employee said it couldn't be patched because "the nail is almost touching the inner tube," but my front tires were worn and needed to be replaced anyway, so I told them to make the switch. I was shocked when the final bill came to $295 after I was quoted $180. They had done a $95 front-end alignment (expensive!) without authorization and added a few other charges. I'm only giving a second star because they quickly agreed to knock unauthorized charges off the bill. read more

I'm driving 500 miles tomorrow and my oil change indicator came on in my car. Being that it's Sunday in Alabama, I knew there wouldn't be much open. But don't be open and not actually be opened. My wife went into Firestone and asked about getting an oil change, but was flatly refused. They said, "we can't get to you until Monday." This was the third and final shop that we visited this afternoon, with none of them accommodating for our business, despite being open for another hour at each location. Dejectedly, my wife returned to the car and gave me the news. I immediately pulled into a spot and marched in to ask one simple question: "what makes you think I'll come back?" See, the assumption is that with the offer to return Monday, that I will happily do so, as if they're doing me a favor. There is no assurance that I would be willing to come back in, but it's presented as the most likely option. Newsflash: if you deny me service on Monday, there's no guarantee I'll come back Tuesday. The clerk's best offer was "Well, we can give you excellent service at another time." He lamented that they'd been "behind all day" and they just couldn't fit me in. But how is you're being busy my problem? If that's the reason you can't take my business, then don't be surprised when I refuse to return because you couldn't serve me in my hour of need. Simple. We are never returning to your business and would encourage anyone reading this to do the same. read more

I recently used Firestone of Tuscaloosa for the first time. I have used many different repair centers and have never been completely confident that I was getting the best service at the best price. Customer service was never very good but I just thought that was the nature of the business. Firestone completely changed my view of auto repair centers. I feel that I am getting the best possible service at the best price every time I go there. All of the staff from the managers to the advisers to the mechanics are extremely friendly.
