General manager was up front and honest with me regarding his ability to fix my problem with my Lexus. Not that he couldn't fix it but we would be better off having Lexus look at it as they would be potentially chasing ghosts and could rack up a hefty bill. I really appreciated his honesty and candor. He didn't even charge me for the inspection work they already did on the vehicle. Would definitely recommend and use them again in the future. read more

Sat here for 4 hours for a alignment and oil change just to be told I had to take it somewhere else

The staff at this store went out of their way in helping my great grand daughter, a student at U of Alabama, get needed service to her car. Their courstesy in this matter was exceptional. We will surely continue to use and recommend this service shop. read more

Beware of Firestone on McFarland Blvd. I took my corvette in for a simple oil change, and they literally dropped it off of their vehicle lift, totaling my car. Firestone didn't do anything for a month; They would not file an insurance claim on their end. I had to file a police report and then they waited for me to file with my own insurance company and incur all the negative aspects with filing with my own insurance. NOW Firestone is content to simply pay my insurance company the money they have to pay out to me for a total loss...minus my deductible of course...I still owe that. They may do good work sometimes, but if they damage your car, don't expect anything, anything at all...Firestone completely destroyed my corvette, 100% their fault and I'm the one suffering. This is perhaps the most corrupt company I've ever dealt with. read more

Never ever go here. My final coat was $300 more than the quote because they "forgot" to tell me how much 2 hours of labor would add on. They promised my car would be ready between 5 and 5:30pm and it was closer to 8:30pm when it was finally done. Do not recommend. Gave one star because zero is not an option. Edit: I have responded to your email as requested. read more

I got a couple of things done here about two weeks ago. Good customer service. Done in a little over an hour.... I came here again two weeks later for some more work and I can't say that I had quite the same experience. Customer service was totally different. I will say it wasn't the same front desk employees as my last time here. No one wants to feel as if the employee is annoyed by their customers. There are plenty of auto shops to choose from. I planned on having more near future services done here but with this last experience, I doubt I will be choosing Firestone again. No one wants to work hard all day, take time out to get their car serviced and spend their hard earned money at a place that feels like your business doesn't matter. I'll say it.... Gino needs a better attitude. read more

We asked for an oil change and to check the check engine light. The gentleman was very helpful and even found a discount for us!

One of the worst location and customer service. Even with appointment, waiting for 4-5 hours for wheel balance is ridiculous. Don't know what the point of an appointment is. I understand waiting 30-40 minutes to get the car in. Waiting here, been five hours and they haven't even pulled the car in. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! I dropped my car off thinking I needed brake pads replaced, they said they would call me about what was going on, next thing I know they call me and tell me my car is ready. I never received a call with a quote, and never got a quote when I dropped my car off. $500 for brake pad replacement without my knowledge of the price, when I could have taken it down the street to get them replaced for $250 (they quoted me for that). Thinking I trusted Firestone more I take it there only for them to not give me a quote. Then the service manager Ryan lied to me and told me he discussed the price with me. I'm so disappointed... be careful with who services your vehicle. I will never go back nor recommend this place to anyone. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We needed air for our tires, and they sent us away with flat tires!

Yeah, wish I had read the reviews before sending my daughter over there with an appointment time for a 20 minute oil change. Three+ hours later, she was still waiting while they removed all the tires and were doing an inspection we never asked for. They said they "keyed in the wrong service". Anyways, after she leaves, the oil plug falls out of the car and all the oil drains out of the car. I'm fortunate my daughter had the common sense to shut the engine off immediately when the light came on, otherwise they would have been buying us a new engine. You've been warned. read more

I would give five stars, but I still don't completely understand why there was over an hour wait when I had an appointment. On the brighter side the employees at this location, for the most part, are great! Emmanuel and Kim made my experience much better than it originally started out. I'm so thankful for them, and because of them I will be back and would recommend you give them a try. read more

Made an appointment for 12:00pm in the afternoon. I was told on the phone this would take 1 hour max. Now it has been almost 2 hours with the car not looked at. The reason was "the guys work slow". Not a problem if the service professionals want to work slow, but do not schedule appointments so close when they are needing more time. This took up hours of my work day and will never return or recommend it to anyone. read more

Absolute shit. Couldn't tell the difference between my WHITE 2019 CRV and a BLUE 2009 CRV and gave me the wrong oil - which I had to go somewhere else to get them to fix it. What new car doesn't take synthetic oil? How could you not tell it was not from 2009 when it literally has touch screen controls inside? It's a different color? They also lied to me to say my tires were dangerously worn thin and to buy new tires now. Well, I asked the shop I went to to get my oil fixed and they said it's just fine. Passes the penny test just fine too. These people are liars and too lazy to even double check the COLOR and YEAR of my car. Do not recommend. read more

rip off....... they will take advantage of you.. call around.. repair cost me 525$ firestone wanted 1200$ for the same reason.. others wanted 825$ 750$ 650$ went with front end shop in northport.. firestone is a ripoff... tires ok... repair no.. read more

This is the third time we've had an appointment with Firestone and ended up waiting almost an entire day. It's ridiculous that you have a 9am appointment for a tire repair, get an update at 11:15, and have to wait until that afternoon for them to replace the tire, instead of repair it. I let it slide the first two times (once at the Daphne, AL location, and once at a Franklin, TN location) but this is obviously a pattern and Firestone will no longer be getting my business. read more

had a a battery problem and one other problem. did not know what the other problem was so took it to firestone. called me to tell my car needed a new battery, which i already knew. i told them that there was something else wrong with my car, the mechanic proceeded to tell me there was nothing else wrong. calls me up about an hr later and says that there is something else wrong with my car. i needed a couple new spark plugs and an engine coil, told me it was going to be $800. i called my dad to make sure that it would be this much before i paid $800. my dad told me it was ridiculous and that he would call them. about an hr after my dad gets off the phone with them and tells them that we are taking my car elsewhere, i get a call from the manager saying that the mechanic made a mistake and that it would only be $300. a $500 mistake. read more

I recently had to get a new battery for my car. The experience went great. It only took about 45 minutes to have it replaced and the staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that the price is up there. read more

My daughter took her car there on Sunday because it would not start and needed to be jumped. The battery was only five months old so I wanted her to have the alternator and started and electrical system checked. Car sat for several hours when I called for an update, They called my daughter five minutes later, said the battery was bad and to take it back to where she bought it. Receipt claims they checked starter and electrical. Daughter had battery replaced. Today car would not start after driving it. She had it jumped and then when she stopped again, it would not start. Battery voltage shows fine. So Firestone did nothing in terms of looking for the real problem and charged her for a diagnosis that was useless. I doubt they even looked at the car and just said it was the battery. read more

Took my car there and they said they were booked up so I was supposed to be setting an appointment for the next day. They told me I could leave it there and they would get to it the next day. Little did I know they were leaving my $60k car sitting outside, front row overnight and when u came back the next day, I talked to someone different and I wasn't down for any appointment, nowhere to be found in the system, and it took them 10 minutes to find my keys. If I didn't know better I would assume my car could've quiet easily gone missing. Terrible customer service. DO NOT GO HERE. Went to pep boys right after and they took me on the spot and had my car ready in 15 minutes. read more

pulled in & was told i could pick up at close or come back tomorrow w/ an appt & be "in and out in 20-30min" "we're gonna change a tire then pull your car in" when i arrived. after an hour i asked what was up and recieved some extreme attitude - horrible customer service, appointments completely ignored. would not give that wrinkly ass old lady or this place a dime. ridiculous read more

I made an appointment to get my tire patched when I arrived I was told it would only take one hour. After one hour my car had still not been touched. Continued to wait an additional hour until I was given any information about my car tire being fixed. Waited a total of almost 4 hours before my car was fixed. Would've rather gone somewhere else if I knew it was going to take this long. While everyone was very nice and helpful I just can't recommend this place to anyone read more

I've used this Firestone for years, as a matter of fact, I will be there today. Most of the time the service has been excellent. However, I recently had an issue with my car and had to take it to a mechanic. I have had a lot of work done to my car over the last several months and one of the things that I had done was a tune up at FIRESTONE. Imagine my surprise when my mechanic asks me did I not get the tuneup that he told me that I needed. Yes, I did... well it turns out that FIRESTONE only replaced my plugs. When I ask for a tuneup, I expected a tuneup, which includes the wires. I called and I was told that would cost xxxx more money. Who goes in and asks for just new plugs? I also had an appt which they did not keep and when I came back to get my car, I was told it wouldn't be ready till Monday that they had not gotten to it. I hope today is better. read more

After having two blowouts on our camper, we needed some help. Our blowouts occurred after most business hours. They happened to still be open while helping out someone in the National Guard. My daughter attends the University of Alabama so on a visit down there I needed to buy front tires for her. It was Sunday and I made the mistake of saying I needed tires for our return trip to Illinois. I felt like they used that to completely over charge me for the tires. They were the only place open on Sunday so I had no choice but to pay the outrageous price! Wether you are from out of town or local I would be very cautious about going here. read more

I had a flat tire passing through town on my way to Texas. They were closing when I got there, and the guys went out of their way to stay late to help me get all new tires (I knew I needed new tires and had planned to get them when I got to Texas anyway). I truly appreciated their help and their time. They saved my road trip and made me feel much safer getting home with my kids! The guys at this Firestone were helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and honest. Thank you!! read more

Having an appointment scheduled means nothing. I waited 5 hours to have 4 tires put on and balanced. They had customers arrive after me and others who had a prior appointment who received service and were out the door before me/us. Chris was polite and apologized for the long wait. Finding the employee who scheduled 6 reservations instead of the standard two per hour was not a priority. read more

I don't go anywhere BUT here. Everyone is so nice and kind. The management is superior. I am always very well taken care of no matter the circumstance. Wendell, Kris, Emmanuel and others have always made my life a whole lot easier by taking my car issues out of my hands and into their own hands with care. I really appreciate the bond that was formed between myself and the employees at Firestone. God bless. read more

Took my car here because they said they'd throw some new tires on in an hour. It took four. Also asked for two of my replaced tires back because they were still fresh, but got a deal on all four (two of the tires had dry rotted). I had to come back later to get the two tires back, because they conveniently forgot to give them back to me. I find this suspicious because they also tried to tell me my vehicle was not properly alligned. I knew this was likely BS because I had replaced my tie rod a month prior and had it alligned then. So, I took it back to the place I had it alligned, they threw it on the machine. What do you know, it was aligned perfectly. This place is very suspicious. Edit: I want to clarify that this was last spring (2014). Things could be different now. read more

I just heard a story from my fathers rims on his Camaro being scratched in this place. It was a while back this year. Seems that while my father and firestone manager conversated, they were very stupid(in the actual defenition of the word).I'll keep it short, basically it was a shop come back over two times and they had to pay 4k worth of rims. I was not there and I know there are two sides of a story but point is, the SATISFACTION of the customer leaving a services based business. Hopefully everything will be PROFESSIONALLY done for other customers. read more

I got a nail in the tread of my tire, so I took it in to get a patch. I should have left after an employee said it couldn't be patched because "the nail is almost touching the inner tube," but my front tires were worn and needed to be replaced anyway, so I told them to make the switch. I was shocked when the final bill came to $295 after I was quoted $180. They had done a $95 front-end alignment (expensive!) without authorization and added a few other charges. I'm only giving a second star because they quickly agreed to knock unauthorized charges off the bill. read more

I called a few places in Tuscaloosa looking for what would be cheapest. While Firestone was the lowest cost of the places I called, I wasted so much money because of the time I wasted here. All I needed was an oil change, and I had an appointment. It took almost two hours to complete. If I would have known I would have made arrangements to leave. While in the waiting room, almost every customer came in complaining about the amount of time. One guy who said his car had been there three days and they literally just never called him to come pick it up. So my biggest recommendation here is be ready to wait. read more

I'm driving 500 miles tomorrow and my oil change indicator came on in my car. Being that it's Sunday in Alabama, I knew there wouldn't be much open. But don't be open and not actually be opened. My wife went into Firestone and asked about getting an oil change, but was flatly refused. They said, "we can't get to you until Monday." This was the third and final shop that we visited this afternoon, with none of them accommodating for our business, despite being open for another hour at each location. Dejectedly, my wife returned to the car and gave me the news. I immediately pulled into a spot and marched in to ask one simple question: "what makes you think I'll come back?" See, the assumption is that with the offer to return Monday, that I will happily do so, as if they're doing me a favor. There is no assurance that I would be willing to come back in, but it's presented as the most likely option. Newsflash: if you deny me service on Monday, there's no guarantee I'll come back Tuesday. The clerk's best offer was "Well, we can give you excellent service at another time." He lamented that they'd been "behind all day" and they just couldn't fit me in. But how is you're being busy my problem? If that's the reason you can't take my business, then don't be surprised when I refuse to return because you couldn't serve me in my hour of need. Simple. We are never returning to your business and would encourage anyone reading this to do the same. read more

I've been using them for several years now. They have always been friendly, service is great and have on a few occasions gone above and beyond what's expected or called for. I will continue to use them as long as we have this kind of rare anymore mutual customer service/business relationship. read more

My son drove from Statesboro to Tuscaloosa for the GSU/Alabama game in his '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee and his water pump blew. I recently used Firestone of Tuscaloosa for the first time. I have used many different repair centers and have never been completely confident that I was getting the best service at the best price. Customer service was never very good but I just thought that was the nature of the business. Firestone completely changed my view of auto repair centers. I feel that I am getting the best possible service at the best price every time I go there. All of the staff from the managers to the advisers to the mechanics are extremely friendly. They always keep me updated regarding the progress of the work. I cannot imagine ever going any place else. I think I have found my forever auto service center. read more

I went here to get an alignment. I waited 4 hours at least, and when the work was finally done I was offered (while paying my bill) to purchase a "lifetime alignment" for an additional fee. I hesitated to get it because my vehicle is already old (a 1998) and really how many more alignments am I gonna get? But, it seemed like a reasonable deal so I got it. Several months later I noticed my vehicle pulling strong to the right and remembered the lifetime alignment! :) I went back to Firestone and after another 4 hours (or longer) the mechanic came out and told me of about $400 worth of stuff that needed fixing before the alingment could even be done. This is the classic old bait and switch trick. I'll never go back there and never fall victim to any "lifetime" deal for an additional fee. I think they treat women like they are stupid too... when I mentioned the term "struts"... I got a look from the man like "I can't believe she knew what struts were!" read more

I love the service at firestone! I always go here for my oil changes. They always let me know if they're running a deal on the service I'm getting. I made an appointment to get my oil changed on a Saturday morning. They said it would take 2.5 hours and it only took 1.5. There was a lot of people there who's cars had maybe broke down heading into town for the game, but they respected my appointment and worked to get me out of there as quickly as they typically would. read more
