After jiffylube stripped the bolt of our oil plug, Firestone tried to charge us $777 for a new pan and oil change. We had it done at our dealership for just $130. We didn't need a new oil pan. They figured out how to remove the plug. I say trust your dealerships. read more

Paid for the full inspection but they never checked the wiper blades or the tire pressure even though I bought a new tire as well. Staff was mostly polite but this left plenty to be desired. I pulled up with about 20 minutes to close. Close, i know. I have worked in customer service my whole life and I understand how annoying it is to have someone come last minute. I pulled up to the garage doors, and the one man working closed all of the doors and ignored me. All i needed was a simple air pressure check for my tires. Didn't ask me what I needed, nothing. I went to discount tire and had my tires rotated and was told the suspension was unsafe. I dropped off the car on Sunday night at Firestone. On Monday I was told the it was the struts and shocks and they couldn't order parts, but that the car was SAFE to drive. I picked up the car on Monday and on Tuesday, the car sounded much, much worse like the tire was about to pop off and the car was not driving well. I brought the car back yesterday night (Tuesday). I was called today and told that my car was "deteriorating" and that there was "a lot" wrong with the car that they wanted to show me. So within less than a day, a reportedly "safe" car was now unsafe. FIRESTONE GAVE ME BACK AN UNSAFE CAR!!!!!!!!!!! I called Firestone and the manager Miguel attempted to justify giving the car back by saying that they couldn't get parts. I completely understand not being able to order parts, but do NOT give me an UNSAFE car and tell me that it is safe... at least let me know not to drive it. I could have gotten seriously injured. DO NOT COME HERE ------ Ive been going to Firestone(s) since ive had my first car because mh family used them while i grew up. From oak lawn , homer glen, mokena. Never had problems. I came to orland because moken didn't have an online appointment time for me so i figured orland will work. I walked in and he basically acted like he didnt have time for me and i said thats fine ill leave my car. I made the appointment maybe 2/3 days prior so i understood. They called me told me mY AC COMPRESSOR went out so i said ok and they fixed it. 800$+ i dont mind paying this as long as it works. 2 days after the AC Goes back out and blowing warm air again. So i brought it back to orland because they did the work so i figured they can fix the issue. So exact same thing i made an online appointment for a friday at 3pm. I made it on monday to give them more time. SAME EXACT RESPONSE when i walked in. Acted like he didnt have time, he was supposed to call and tell me. So he couldnt EVEN look at the car till the next morning. I mean i already paid for this issue, now this is my 2nd time dropping off my car, finding new ways to get around.no consideration for my time. So saturday he calls and tells me its the compressor again. Sometimes faulty ones come in, i said ok thats fine can u please check exhaust for me while you have the car its making extra noise than usual. He sounded disgusted and said ok 2 hours later he calls and says volkswagens ready. No mention of anything about what we talked about. LOL. I wouldnt have had him fix it regardless. So thats that. So i picked up the car , great AC is working. But as im driving i notice when i release the break coming off idle at a light, theres an extreme squeeling coming from the engine block. So i drove for a while and i tried it with the AC OFF, the noise stops. So then i go to work today im driving home and the air goes out again and now is blowing warm air!!! Don't take your car here, these are some scam artists! I took my son's Pontiac Grand AM here since it stopped close by. I was told the car needed an alternator, battery, rotors (in the front) and pads for a whopping $1,160.00. Joel the manager suggested we apply for a Firestone CC so he reduced the price down to $937.00. A week later, the car stopped again. After having the car for a week, I was told the car needed needed a Powertrain harness connector and the labor for this repair cost me an additional $739. So I have a problem with them being able to adjust the prices, and with that darn computer diagnostic print-out. Shouldn't the print-out tell them initially a problem was still present before I drove the vehicle from the shop the first time? Once these folks have your vehicle, they have you exactly where they want you. Run,...(especially women) don't stop here!!! read more

I stopped by this Firestone location today, after having received a very pricey quote for a headlight repair from a car dealership in the area. Firestone was able to do the exact same repair at half the price of the dealership, and to complete it on the same day. (The dealership would've made me return next week to have the repair completed). The manager on duty, Leroy, was extremely conscientous & customer-focused. He even offered to check the tire pressure for free! The operating hours for the location also appear to be extremely customer-friendly. So, I have had issues with this store over the past 6 months and will never go back and suggest other options in the area. First, my wife and teenage daughter took a car in for a new battery. The battery was replaced and my daughter left in the car. The car litterally stalled 4 block after leaving the store in the middle of 159th/94th Ave left turn lane on a Saturday at noon. Got the car started and daughter was able to get it to limp in to the shop. Apprarently the terchnician failed to reset a sensor that caused the stall. Strike one. Last month I went back for an oil change. Guess what, I was told by assistant manager Joel I needed new brakes and a full brake job was the best deal. The best part is I had a local mechanic do a complete brake job about 1500 miles prior to the oil change. Strike 2. I did speak with Erik the manager, the next day and he apologized and promised better less service and free oil change next time I were to come in. Went there today. Had 11am appointment. arrived a little before 11 and asked the service writer Kim if appointments were on time as I had a busy day and could not wait. She indicated no issues and I would be out in 45 to an hour. At 1145, my car was still in the parking lot and had not been looked at, let alone serviced. I asked for my keys and Kim gave some excuse that a car in another bay leaked oil or transmission fluid all over the shop and it had to be cleaned up. I had to leave. I later called and talked to Erik, who said that with online appointments there is no way the shop can honor appointments that customers just have to deal with it and it is out of his control. He did not even aplogize for the waste of time. STRIKE 3!! By Firestone and I do not and can't ever recommend this store. The service techs are suspect, the assistant manager blantantly tries to upsell, and the manager has little or no people skills or customer service. Do not go to this store for anything including oil changes, battery changes. If you cant do this, how can a shop do anything serious? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE like TRS or Lighning Auto both in Orland. I had a good experience here. I brought in a car that was older and wasn't driven a lot . I wanted it checked over because I was going to drive it out of state. I know nothing about cars. When I came to pick it up the mechanic told me that he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I went in for a tire repair. I was told that I needed a new tire because the nail hit the corner of the tire and the patch won't stick inside, the tire was not leaking air...after I took the old tire home (which had 5k miles on it).. I found that there is no puncture of the tire and the nail that was removed was on the outside surface. I would not recommend having your tires fixed there, however for a tire replacement they do have good prices. Update 06/16/15 I read thru the tire repair guidelines, non of the exceptions apply. I am not looking to get a refund or a discount. I made the mistake to have the nail taken out at Firestone. My advice is if you have a nail in tire is to check with your local tire shop first. In my case, the tire didn't puncture the tire it was only on the surface with no loss of pressure. I think that I did not need to purchase a brand new tire, after they took the nail out, there was no loss of pressure, but I did not have a choice once they dismounted it and told me that there is a puncture and it can't be remounted. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have taken my car to this location MULTIPLE times and each time bring it back within 2 months for them to refix the same problem that they supposedly fixed in the first place. In June, I had brake repairs and went back to them early August for brake issues AGAIN. Finally I was fed up with them and took my car to TRS on Southwest Highway for them to fix it, and they said that the caliper on my left front side was wrong and to take it back to whoever messed it up so they can do it for free (very nice of them because they could have done it themselves and charged me). SO I took it BACK to Firestone and they "put in a new caliper" but when I got my car back, it was even worse than it was before and making a horrible noise. TRS just called me after I dropped off my car yesterday and said that Firestone had actually put in the wrong caliper, AGAIN! These people are not mechanics. And if they are, they should be fired. Firestone, stick to what you know and be a tire place again because you are the worst mechanic I have ever had the displeasure working with. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. read more

Paid for it and complained to corporate. they texted back and said I'd hear from them in two days. I haven't heard from them since. They also try to build up repair work for no good reason. I recently went to Firestone to have a brake job and had the forethought as to first pay for a brake inspection. Firestone quotes $800.00 for front brakes. This included the cost for two new Pads, Rotors and Calipers. My car is a 2009 Chevy, Not a Ferrari or some other exotic. I took it to Chevy and low and behold my Calipers were fine and did pay a little more for the work than a smaller local shop. But it was not even half of what Firestone was going to charge. What the heck happened to this place? I used to love coming here for years to have both of my cars worked on with NO issues at this location and now it seems there's always an issue when I need or have something done. First off I had my truck in two separate times for maintenance. First time they told me I need rear shocks, second time I need front struts (which is true I did need them) but denied service as the cost was way too high. Funny thing about that was they wrote up an estimate for parts that didn't even fit my car. How did I know that? Well I went and bought them to have someone else do it for a lower cost but unfortunately had to find out they're not the right parts! Secondly, I went in a couple months ago to have a ball joint fixed that they tried to charge me for (part warranty) when it was just done in the last two years! Does nobody look into history here? Thanks for trying to scam me! I had also asked them to do an alignment on my car at the same time as I purchased the lifetime alignment through them years ago. I just found out last week at a different firestone that I need new tires, they're bald! They said the Orland location never did my alignment when I requested as it was not in their system! That explains why within the last 3 months my tires have worn from a 6 tread to a 4 tread pretty quickly! Thanks firestone! Now I need new tires! My car is also never done on time, several times Ive dropped it off overnight the day before for an oil change so it can be in and out first thing and by 2pm the next day it was still never brought into the shop. In the past year, we feel this location has had some problem mechanics. We have had some major issues with two of our three cars, from misdiagnosis to incomplete work. Most of the issues were finally resolved, with having to take the vehicles in multiple times. The last incident however, which is why I am writing this warning, left us with an unreliable car, which we were then forced to trade in for a reliable one (wasn't in the budget)...If you can't trust a mechanic shop to correctly diagnose and fix your vehicle, who can you trust...would be very leery about going to this location for any type of major servicing these days...unfortunately. read more

I usually am not quick to anger, but if I could give 0 stars, I would. Went in at 9 am for a front end alignment and a spring diagnostics check. They said it would take 2 hours max, so I left and went to work, and came back at 12 after they had called me. I spend another 30 minutes waiting while they help other people......who came in after me, and when they handed over the keys and I asked if we were all set, the employee, Mike, snapped at me and very unprofessionally told me to sit down and wait.....as if Im some kind of child. Then, after all that, they tell me that they didn't even do the alignment......then why did you call and tell me to pick up my car?! And, even better, I went in my air filter box to change the filter the next day, and one of their mechanics broke one of the housing screws in my filter box, and it needs to be retapped now and noone is claiming responsibility at all! This place is so unprofessional it's ridiculous, I even filed a review and told them to contact me. It's been over a week, and still no call. They tried to upsell me on EVERYTHING, and didn't even do what I needed them to originally do, which should've been done when they rotated my tires. I don't know at all..... read more
