We've had family members go to Firestone for years. For me, it's not my usual area, but today, we were nearby and we had a flat from earlier in the morning on the way to work...beelined to work to evaluate during daylight. I changed the tire for the donut/spare to make our way home and of course, every place tends to be SEVERAL HOURS busy at the end of day, BUT Firestone gave us hope so we headed there from nearby. I called and Jonathan was great. He told us it may be ready by 3:30pm (about 2 hrs later), which allowed for picking up the kids in the other vehicle (we drove separately), but he said to wait while they took a look at the tire and evaluated to see if it was a simple repair or had other issues. Not even an hour later we were ready to go and the staff that we interacted with were all great and nice! Thank you, Firestone!!! read more

I will start this review with the one positive note. The staff I felt with were polite. But I also was not rude to them when I had concerns. I bought my company car in for routine maintenance. I also asked to check the tires. I believe that opened the door for what happened next. Since the car is a fleet vehicle. They had to send in a request for labor service. I checked the car in at my appointment, 8am. By 3 in the afternoon, I called to see the status on the car. They stated that they were still waiting on the my company to approve the labor. I ask if they called them. They said no. I asked why not? They said that they didn't know they had to. I called my fleet company my self. I found out that they were request extra labor that I did not ask for, or needed. I did ask for windshield fluid to be filled. That was the only extra. I finally got my car back when they closed. They left a large amount of grease that they use to place the new tires. It was all over the rims and tires. I took it to for a wash after, but it didn't come off. The next day driving it on the freeway. The car was vibrating a lot. The faster ili drove the worse it was. That means, that they never BALANCED the tires. I brought the car back on Monday, that is a couple of days later. I told them the issue. They said they need to speak to my fleet company again. I said why, it needs to be BALANCED. It was not balanced when they put on the new tires. To make a long story short. I once again waited hours. Just to find out that they did not call again. I called my fleet service. They were trying again to get more money out of my fleet, by request labor that was not needed, and I did not ask for. For example, they said I needed new brakes, pay for the balance that was never done, alignment. Stating that I said it pulled hard to the right. I told them it would not be accepted and to drop my car. I would take it elsewhere. Only then did they say " they will take care of me, and balance the tires". The ing that would have been done 3 hours ago, or better yet, when they put the tires on. I will never come back. The employees here don't really care about their job. You can see it in their faces and motivation. The guys at the lobby are just trying to increase sales in any sneaky way they can. I assume they have to make some metric their bosses are asking for. Last comment. The lobby is disgusting. It looks like it has not been vacuumed or swept in a long while. The water dispenser is filthy. Not sure why it's there, there are no cups for customers. Also there was a large splatter on the TV. Could be spit or something thrown. Once again, I will not come back. I recommend that a regional manager do a secret shop of their own. read more

Got new tires here on Saturday 5/30 They literally had me sitting in the waiting room for 3 hours told me my car was ready with new tires at 5:13 pm and they did a courtesy fluid check handed me the keys and sent me home with no oil cap I literally drove around San Diego for 2 days with no clue all over from Point Loma to OB National city and back Home and now there's oil all over my engine overheating (which is extremely dangerous and could've caused the engine to overheat and blow up) because they didn't put the oil cap back on!!! I literally had no idea anything was wrong until my stepbrother came by to do a coolant change for me cause they had recommended it at Firestone that day and when he popped the hood of my car THE OIL CAP WAS GONE AND THERE WAS OIL ALL OVER MY CAR LITERALLY SMOKING. I called them yesterday 6/2 to ask them to at least clean it and reimburse me for the new oil cap we had to go buy at oreillys and they said they'd clean it reimburse for the oil cap and do a courtesy oil change. Then the manager Alan called me back and said they're not taking responsibility and not cleaning it at all. Then my stepdad had to call them and handle it he drove down there with my car and they "cleaned" it aka just wiped the cover of the oil gasket with a rag and left one of the nuts off of my oil Cover when they put it back on. Never reimbursed my stepdad for the oil cap we had to buy at oreillys for $17 and my car still has oil all over the engine which is overheating smoking and smells terrible every time I drive. Horrendous negligent service. Absolutely no reason they should've even touched the oil cap the day I had all my tires done which I PAID $350 for! Then they offered to fix it and didn't and didn't even apologize once or Reimburse for the oil cap or do anything they had originally offered to do to fix the situation and there's still oil all over my car horrible experience don't go there and if you do good luck check ur car before u leave don't make the same mistake I did of Trusting them! Will NEVER go back here! read more

I was with my friend today who had an appointment at 3pm for an alignment. They didn't get to her vehicle until after 6pm and it took less than 15 minutes. She ended up missing church. When we drove by and it was close to 5:40pm, she was told they would try to get it done before they closed. The lack of empathy and the unconcerning apologies we're just not acceptable. We will be sure to never use their location again. Especially when she was there for her 3pm appointment. read more

Before the business owner posts the same "copy and paste" apologetic response to poor service I want to say... This Firestone location (near Vallarta) SUCKS! Had my kid bring a tire there to get air leaks tested. A walk in, on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy, but didn't expect it to be a 6+ hour wait just for a tire. I called after 4 hrs and inquired. The manager told me possibly another two hours. FOR A LEAK TEST? It's a simple as filling it with air and placing it in a soapy tub bucket and look for bubbles. I told him I'd pick it up and take it somewhere else. I get there and there's maybe two cars on the bay. I tell him he could just put it in the bucket in between jobs? He says no we go by the line of cars waiting. Lmao! What a joke. Sounds like poor planning skills and customer service. After talking to my kid about the wait, he did tell me that a customer who had an appointment ended up cancelling and leaving because his car was still in the same spot for two hours after his appointment time. Anyway, I pick up the tire and bring it to the Firestone on Highland Ave. Brittany initially tells me it'll be a two hour wait, but when she realized it was just the tire that wait time was considerably shortened.. She took in the tire with in 10 min of me getting there, and I was back on the road in 40 min. Plaza Blvd Firestone needs SERIOUS IMPROVEMENTS! Customer service has always been poor at this location. DON'T GO HERE! If you need to take your car to Firestone go to the Highland Ave location. read more

Scheduled an appointment for 11am to get alignment redone after purchasing a lifetime warranty through them. Show up at 1050 leave my keys wait in the lobby 12:15 rolls around I ask about my car only to be told there's 2 more vehicles ahead of me while telling another customer over the phone it would be about a 1-1.5 hour wait for a walk in alignment. When I asked about my appointment time I was told it only guarantees my car would be done before they close. After waiting 2 hours my car was still behind 2 vehicles just asked for my keys and left with them saying they only have 1 rack and it's busy. Maybe they should accept so many alignment appointments and tell other customers invalid wait times. read more

This place is amazing! I have been coming here for years and they always give me top notch service. Highly recommend! (:

I've been going to Firestone for a few years now for usual maintenance. Oil change, fluid top off, filter changes, spark plug replacements, and battery replacement. I really appreciate their consistency of always being professional with me, educating, and helpful. I also really love their credit card where I can put my bill on my card and pay it off within 6 months with no interest, it makes paying big car bills a lot easier on my budget. They are also really great with scheduling an appt right when I need it and always call me before moving forward with any work that needs to get done to make sure I approve first. Will be continuing to go to Firestone!! read more

I appreciate the hard work and Alan the manager is why me and my family and friends go there and trust him with our vehicles! Always top-notch service at that location. "The service was disappointing. I asked for an explanation about the alignment results, but no one could provide a clear answer. This reflects poor preparation and little interest in customer service." read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I usually bring my car here because it's right down the street from where I live. I've brought my car in for a simple oil change or to change the tires and every time they want to keep the car the entire day or overnight. They ALWAYS claim they are understaffed. It has been three years of the same nonsense. They always push additional repairs and I'm under the impression they intentionally do this to make more money. My car is fine when I take it but when I leave something always goes wrong and I have to take it back and it becomes a major expense. Today was the final straw as I had an appointment for 1PM. For an oil change and tire patch. These services shouldn't take more than an hour at most. My husband went to take the car and they told him there was a wait and the car would have to be kept overnight !! Then when my husband refused, they said they could have it ready by 6 or 7. I do not recommend at all. This place is a SCAM! AVOID THIS PLACE!! read more

Scammers work here!!! I had an appointment at 12pm for two new tires and it took them almost three hours to change them. I should've read the review before this one cause the same thing happened to me. While I was waiting they brought up other mechanical issues the car has, like a broken headlight. I was confused because I always check the lights to make sure they work, and they were working before I got there. When the car was done they tried charging me close to $400 to change the tires and change the "broken headlight". Thank God I paid the $200 I was quoted when I first arrived. Then to change a single headlight they quoted me $110.. I took my money went to Auto Zone across the street and bought a headlight for $18. Ridiculous ASF. Never coming back here again. read more

Absolutely the worst experience ever. "Do not trust this store " The mechanics did not do the work. The manager Alan, gave me such a BS excuse. Worse than that the regional manager Larry Foerster, signed off on his BS too. Long story short, the mechanics did not do the work I paid for. Then the twiddle D and twiddle dumb answered thatthe work was done, "because they signed off on it" meanwhile the car still pulls. So the alignment wasn't done! The same slow leaking tire is in the exact same spot. So the tire rotation wasn't done! Yet they claim the work was done!!Because there was a signature!! These 2 managers did not take the time to listen! I wasn't trying to get any monetary compensation at all. All I wanted was an explanation that I could believe or tell me a better lie. Either way it's the same. All because I sent my wife to get the car serviced. Because my disability was stronger than normal. I feel that this specific Firestone came off sexist, and tried to bulldoze over her. With no repercussion. Well let me pull off all your covers. If my review stops at least one person then I am happy. But if you do go there. Then make sure you watch that the mechanics are doing the work. This deserves a 0 star rating but that wasn't an option. read more

One of the worst mechanics I've ever been to. Should have read the reviews before coming here. Don't waste your time/money here.

I can't say how complete disappointed I am as a mechanic. An oil change should be a 30 min job and that's if the oil filter is giving u a hard time. I made an appointment at 12:30 I come in and they tell me it'll be about an hour and a half meaning should be done by 2:00. I don't hear anything by then so I stop in at 3:00. And they barely brought my car in They said the tech was at lunch so it should be done in about 30 minutes ok things happen I'm in a good mood by now the time is 3:27. And they tell me that the oil drain plug is tight and that they are letting me know that If they pull the plug and can't get it back in they have to charge me $800 for a new oil pan. So I waited 3 hours with an appointment for them to do nothing to my car. It took them 3 hours with an appointment to tell me that they can't change my oil which I don't know what's worse. That it took them 3 hours to do nothing or that they tried to charge me $800 to replace an oil pan on a early 2000's truck. If you come get your car serviced here and something stops working you should definitely call the customer support number on their website. read more

Do not go here , you will regret it. Jonathan is a scammer and the worse customer service ever ! I wish I could rate it ZERO stars. But it's not an option. They are unprofessional and disrespectful. I was trying to explain myself that they needed to fix my tire because they had gotten payed to replace a tire but only patched it ! Making it worse less than a week after. Thank God I didn't have to tow it in. My insurance had said that it was supposed to be granted a warranty because they had payed for 2 tires and not one but when I was explaining to him he kept talking over me. And not letting me explain myself he became irritated at the fact that I didn't let myself. I said talk to the insurance not me and I sat down. He kept antagonizing saying "idk why you're upset with me" "it's not my issue " like who says that. You're a mechanic it's unprofessional . And I said TALK TO THE INSURANCE NOT ME. Because I was tired of the disrespect. He didn't even call the insurance company at all. And threw the keys at me saying we won't do the service. But I reported them for the lack of customer service , unprofessional and power tripping I hope they don't send people here and take them off the insurance list! Disappointing and embarrassing for Firestone. read more

After going here for a couple years for oil change, I am no longer giving them my business. Came in for a regular oil change and came out paying over 600 for a repair I couldn't get out of. They said my oil pan was old and needed to completely replace it. How on earth can I refuse to have this service done when I'm watching the oil come out of my car? Clearly put me in a difficult position and practically forcing me to say yes. But no, this isn't even what pushed me to the edge. They also called me and said that my tires were really old and that legally they needed to be changed. I denied this service and decided to get them replaced elsewhere cheaper. But you know what this other place said? That my treads were still really good! Unbelievable how there was now a stretch of the truth just to squeeze more money out of me. I don't completely blame the employees who are just following protocol probably but I'm never going back. This was the last straw. Don't go here, they will just try to get what they can out of you. read more

I was desperate need of an alignment. Within a week, i was dealing with a whirring noise - turns out my front left tire's lugnuts were loosened and i had over-inflated tires. My tires prior to coming in were 33 psi, i came out with 40/50psi. After several trials and errors, and after confirming with my dealership, my tire sensor light needed replacement & resetted; $389!! Impossible that my wheels were loose, because i had raised my cars height & tightened my wheels prior to getting to firestone that day. In addition, they did a "courtesy check"; which is uncalled for, all i asked is for an alignment. Btw, the dealer also added a clutch hyraulic line and power steering pump leaking. In fact, there was another guy complaining about his car before he checked out, saying his vehicle came out with more problems than when he came in. And the lady representative was arguing with him, instead of calming the customer and possibly bringing a mechanic to explain the details better. It's so sad that businesses like Firestone are not trustworthy. You want to make money and for people to come back, spread the word, etc.? Try honest work? And not just once or twice a week, but for all of the people that stop by! read more

The first portion of my review was completely my fault. I had ordered the wrong tire size of the Firehawk Indy 500s (255/40/18) for my car and gave them a call if I would be able to go a size down to 245/35/18 because I had rubbing issues. They were accommodating in that regard, and let me come right back in. Alfredo the "assistant manager," gives me a timeline of 2 hours, So I leave and come back when he gives me a call. When it was time to pick up the car, the tires were never replaced. Instead, Alfredo tells me to pick up the car and we'll have the tires for you the next day. So, already wasted two hours of my time. But, it gets even better! When I asked him what the price was, he said, the difference in price is all I had to pay. Mind you, I'm getting a smaller size set of tires which should save me money, right? Not with Alfredo! Because this genius orders me a set of Bridgestones that were $200 more for wasting my time! He's not THAT useless though, I'll give him credit for getting the correct size at least. But, he has poor customer service skills and low quality attention to detail. Like I stated, I wanted 245/35/18 Firehawk Indys, he ordered me the correct size of Bridgestones for $200 more. Only reason I don't give a one-star review is because of the Mechanic, Israel, who was incredibly helpful and was able to help me out and point me in the right direction. At the end of the day, my car isnt driveable with the current tires until I get the replacements they ordered in a few days. So out of a car for three days because of their "ASSisstant Manager." Other than that, everyone else was helpful and nice, and the service to get tires was easy. Just dont deal with Alfredo Valdez and you should have a positive Update: (7/29/2020) Now onto the update on what was supposed to be fixed and what was a 2-star review is now a one star. Alfredo Valdez just tried a bait and switch method on the tires I originally ordered. I wanted the firehawks and he ordered the Bridgestones AFTER we had just discussed not getting those. I forwarded the whole situation to corporate. This guy is trash. Avoid at all costs. read more

I had a terrible experience with an associate by the name of Miguel Damian on the morning of Saturday December 11th. I came in to validate my warranty on my Primewell tires, and this man declined my warranty because the store where I had originally purchased my tires made an error on the dot number for the warranty. I asked him kindly if he could call the Fashion Valley Firestone ( the place I originally made my purchase ) so they could give him the correct dot number. He declined my request and told me to go to the Fashion Valley location and ask them to renew the warranty themselves. I then went to my car and called the fashion valley location and explained my situation to them. I had a spare tire with me and was recommended not to drive to far with my car in those conditions so, they told me not to leave this location and that they would give him a call to correct the issue, one of the associates from the Fashion Valley location told me that this shouldn't be an issue that Miguel was " blazing me " as I was waiting in line I overhear the manager from the Fashion Valley location ask Miguel why he wasn't wanting to honor my warranty he was laughing and said, " that wasn't the case" that he was willing to honor it. The manager from the fashion valley store asked him again why he didn't want to honor the warranty and Miguel nervously told him he would honor it. As we were walking to my car to get the serial code on the tire Miguel had to take the tire inside the store, but made me carry it instead, I was very upset over this since I was basically doing his job for him, me and my fiance were in utter disbelief over this mans laziness. Before I left this location to speak to the manager from the Fashion Valley location Miguel had mentioned to me that if I went to Fashion Valley they wouldn't charge me anything that the tire replacement was going to be free. Miguel once he finished setting up my request told me he was going to charge me $60. Due to my discontent and already distrust in Miguel I called the Fashion Valley location and inquired about the Warranty, they told me that they didn't know why Miguel would claim Fashion Valley would do the job free of charge and he wouldn't that all the firestones would charge the same amount. So this was my experience with Firestone in east plaza blvd, I am genuinely very displeased with their service as they made me wait 2 hours to get my tire changed when there was no customers ahead of me and techs free to be able to finish the job. I would rate this location lower than one star but sadly its not possible. I waited 4hours and 30 minutes on a job that I was told was going to be 2 due to Damian Miguel's incompetence read more

I called yesterday 12/28/21 and requested a quote for a headlight and fog light. The Latin woman I spoke w/stated that I could make an appointment and the mechanic could check to see which type of bulb the car requires to give a more accurate quote; was super nice and helpful. So, I then specifically asked- so there is no charge and no problem having your mechanic diagnose and give a quote? She said, "No. There wouldn't be any charge to look to see what type of bulb it requires. Once we know-we could provide & quote you an accurate amount." I agreed to schedule an appointment for today, 12/29/21@ 7:00 a.m. knowing that she stated no charge to look and see what bulb/parts the car actually needs. So, my boyfriend arrives right @7:00 a.m. and they (the Latin women who assisted me yesterday & the mechanic) immediately start speaking in Spanish in front of my boyfriend. Let me start off by saying this: It is extremely rude and unprofessional to speak in a different language than that of what your customer speaks. Secondly, when "professionals" usually start speaking in their language they are talking s***! I'm going to be as candid as I could be with this! See, I'm Mexican and speak fluently and I guarantee you they were being selective and didn't want to help because my boyfriend isn't Latin! I say this because it's happened many times before at other companies/business where Latins work. Things immediately changed. The Latin worker informed my boyfriend that there would now be a charge to check what bulb it is and unfortunately, wouldn't be able to provide a quote unless they work on the car because she has too "pay her mechanic." Since when?! I got on the phone and was furious!! I know for a fact that because my boyfriend is black that they made it extremely difficult and conveniently changed their minds of what the process would be. FIRESTONE, YOU BETTER PAY ATTENTION TO WHO YOU HIRE! read more

Initially my last review here was poor. That was close to 11 months back and I felt the need to update. I had a time crunch to get something done on my other car and this FS was the most convenient to get it done. I noticed a turnover in staff. I did not recognize the new store manager, Maria, who was on top of things and had me in and out of the shop within a few hours. What impressed me this time was I was offered standard maintenance stuff on the side but it was never up sold on me. The old staff and manager here would tell me I needed actual repair work done for things I did not need done when I ran a second opinion with another shop. The old staff were also careless with my other car on one other inspection and could have damaged my paint. I was impressed with the new staff running the shop (they are much better) especially Maria who was professional and quick to get my SUV serviced. Price point for an alignment and a standard inspection was fair also. read more

I had given Firestone so much business... If I wasn't so upset, I wouldn't have updated my review. I took my car there yesterday. After getting the codes read for my check engine light, I asked for a diagnostic test to see what was wrong with my car. I was told, verbatim, that the diagnostic tech would find out what's wrong, how much it would cost to repair, and how long it would take. I asked when the diagnostic test would be done, and was told it would take two-to-three hours. They said it probably wouldn't get done yesterday but would be taken care of first thing in the morning... They open at seven. I waited until after noon to call them. This is the first problem, why should I have to call? Shouldn't they call to give ME the update? When I got a hold of someone, he told me he would call me back in two minutes. I called him back after fifteen... That's the second problem. When I called back, the employee actually told me to take it to a dealership. He said they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I said that there's no way that's true, because I knew what was wrong, because THEY read the codes on my check engine light yesterday. He said his tech was looking at it but couldn't figure it out... Hold on... Your tech is looking at it?!? They said they would look at it first thing in the morning and it takes around two hours. Yet, after five hours, when the tech hasn't ACTUALLY looked at it, he can't figure out what's wrong so I should take my business elsewhere?!? Ok, will do. From this point on, I will. read more

I got my all new tires with Firestone a few months ago at the location on Highland. I only did that because Ian Avina gave exceptional service and it made me feel confident in trying a different place. I have had a nail in my back tire for days, it's hard for me to make it after work because of the traffic. I went to the location on 2531 East Plaza Blvd. Because I was closer at the time and I didn't want it to get later. They do not deserve the 1 star. The garage was EMPTY. There was nobody at the counter, and through a window one of the service guys was on his cell phone sitting down and opened his window to help me. He called out to the front worker, no answer. He had to get up to go get him. After a few minutes he comes back to tell me his 2 mechanics can't fix my flat because they are both working on cars and they close at six. There were now 15 minutes left to 6p.m. He refused to fix my flat tire even though the place was obviously EMPTY. I left and came to the Firestone at Highland, and even though it was close to 6p.m. Ian Anvina helped me out. I truly appreciate the exceptional service Ian, the mechanics, and Brittany A. Gave me. I feel bad they are staying late because their counterparts at the near by store are lazy and are a bad example. Value your excellent employees, they are definitely keepers. read more

Went in today for to have my oil changed in my Toyota Camry SE. I had a coupon for $54.99 (synthetic oil). He offered me the free courtesy check to see if I needed new wiper blades. He wrote up and service order. He later called to let me know they recommend a fuel system cleaning and new wiper blades. He assured me my car was in great condition. Everything was completed in 2 hours and at a great price point, got several discounts today. They did a great job. Had an appointment at 10:30am for break inspection. Said it would take 45min-1hr and they would call me. Took them 2.5hrs to provide details of the inspection. they also suggested an oil change because the oil was dirty. I had taken my car 2 weeks prior to the same location for an oil change, so found it odd they would tell me that. Waited until 4:30pm for a callback for when my car was ready. Decided to head over in an Uber. When I arrived, my car was outside and ready. Never got a call and when I showed up to the front desk the guy asked what I needed help with.
