It's getting to be late October and I still hadn't bought my bag of Haralson Apples so in my quest to find some, I headed toward Northfield to the Fireside Orchard. On a weekday afternoon, it was mostly folks like me, out to buy a few fresh items. I could see the weekends being busier with families. The orchard has nice grounds to amble through, some tractors to climb and pose with, wagons to borrow, and a beautiful outdoor seating area. I found my apples and also picked up some honey. There were also jams, cheese, apple sauce, salsas, coffee, and wild rice options. Freshly baked goods and hot and cold apple cider were fall favorites as well. The orchard is only a short drive off the freeway so stop in and check it out. read more

Very charming area, staff in the store was amazing! We had a little accident with a jam jar falling through a bag and they were so kind to promptly clean it up and replace the jam. Everything was really clean and orderly and the items we purchased tasted fantastic! read more

Yummy apple cider donuts! The bay of apples that I purchased was delicious. You can sample apples before you purchase them. There's a koi pond & a giant inflatable for children to use. We bought some freshly made popcorn & cups of apple cider. read more

This is a cute smaller orchard in Northfield. Fireside has Delicious food, treats, and apples! I loved the chicken salad croissant and sitting outside at the covered picnic table area with a pretty view of the orchards. The donuts were delicious as well as the caramel apple sundae and apple crisp. There are lots of baked goods to choose from and delicious sandwiches too for a picnic. There are pretty gardens and grapevines on the grounds as well. Loved the place! A nice spot for a treat, bag of apples, or picnic lunch. read more

Nice little orchard just out of Northfield. Great place to stop to grab a fresh cider donuts, caramel apple, or a lice if dutch apple pie. They also have a variety of apples to pick from, I recommend the Sweet Tango and Zestar if you are looking for a change from Honeycrisp. Their homemade caramel is also very good. There is no PYO option or at least when we went and no outside food or drink allowed so I knocked one star off for that. It would be nice to utilize the grounds for a picnic with family while enjoying a caramel apple or pie for dessert. It would keep us here longer than just being a pit stop. Oh well! Still a good place to grab your autumn apple season essentials. read more

I normally go to pick-your-own apple orchards, but wanted to go local and decided on Fireside Orchard which has bagged apples. I expected fresh apples from this year's crop, but these didn't taste like fresh apples. I bought 5 different kinds and some were OK, but one bag was filled with bruised and rotting apples. For the premium price, they are not worth it. The place has beautiful gardens and they have very good fudge, but I cannot recommend the apples. read more

Way better what you can find in the stores! I bought sweet tango and they delicious! The staff is really friendly and willing to let you sample what they have. They also had honey, caramel apples, cheese and a little rose garden. They are 5-10 minutes off of hwy 35 read more

For my birthday this year I wanted to go Apple Picking with my family because I have never gone to place where you can actually pick your own apples. I did a bunch of research of local Apple Orchards and found Fireside.. good reviews and offered PYO apples... so their website said. I called the day before (Friday) to confirm it was in fact PYO apples for the following day and the lady I talked to said yes. My family and I showed and up and they wouldn't allow us to pick, they just had a few baskets in their barn to purchase. I was so BUMMED! So we left and took our business to a different orchard that allowed PYO. If you are not offering PYO apples, take it off your website and communicate to all your employees that it is not available. read more

A cute and small apple orchard with a beautiful little rose garden. All the staff were very friendly. Pick-your-own was not available, so we were limited to the apples pre-picked in the small store. The store also had lots of salsas, jams, jellies, apple donuts, and pie. We spent maybe 20 minutes at the orchard. If you are looking for PYO or more activities, I'd recommend a different orchard. read more

Very cute place ruined by a very rude and hypocritical employee. My girlfriend and I brought our dog out in the orchard after we talked to two different staff members who said it was ok. A staff person in the orchard saw us and told us we couldn't have a dog out here due to health reasons. We told her that we talked to two staff members who said we could take our dog out here, and she flat out goes "No you didn't." Here is the ironic part: she was smoking in the middle of the orchard. We said that pretty sure THAT is a health violation, but she said it wasn't. BS. Extremely rude woman and miscommunication between staff members ruined what was supposed to be a nice afternoon. Apple donuts were great, but not worth going back after that experience. read more

I didn't have time to go apple picking, so this review is just for the roadside stand. The only reason I stopped in their parking lot was because I wanted to take a photo of the huge stretch of farmland that is across the street. (If you're from the East Coast, you don't see that kind of thing very often.) But as soon as I got out of my car, the smell of apple cider doughnuts drew me in!! If you can make something out of apples, they sell it. I tried one of the freshly-baked-in-front-of-you apple cider doughnuts. To die for!!! So good. And I also purchased a caramel apple for later. But I was only able to wait a couple hours before diving in. It was, hands down, the best caramel apple I've ever had. Ever. Apple, so fresh! Caramel, still soft! I would totally drive out of my way to go back there. read more

My mom and I had a great time here. We came because we thought it was pick-your-own, but unfortunately they do not have that for 2016. Regardless, we enjoyed a decadent caramel apple and shared an apple cinnamon donut. The staff were so sweet and they have beautiful gardens with lots of Koi fish. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area, but it's not an all day event. read more

This is my favorite orchard in the southern metro! The owners are wonderful, the staff is friendly and extremely helpful, the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The store is great, and has so many offerings, and their prices make autumn fun affordable. As a cook, I have tried many local orchards over the years, but Fireside gets my business. read more

Absolutely love this orchard. The staff are always helpful, the selection and variety is awesome. And the apple pies are the best I've had. You can pick your own, but I'm happy to buy bagged, there are samples of every apple they offer, as well as samples (when they are grilling) of many of the condiments and sauces they offer. My boyfriend and I were taking a road trip all through MN and I had never been to an apple orchard, so he decided to take me here. This place is SO romantic and is a great place for a mini date so to speak. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
