The Fireside Grille is a convenient stop right off the Middleboro rotary. Easy to get to, this restaurant provides a dimly lit but warm atmosphere. Inside, you are surrounded by dark wood beams, brick walls, and a large, centered fireplace (to be expected). Having sat in the lounge on two seperate occasions, I am torn between the experiences I had with each visit. My first time here was superb. I arrived with a group of 10 people, were seated promptly, had an attentive wait staff, and genuinely enjoyed my evening there. Drinks were cheap (between $4 and $7 dollars), appetizers tasty and readily available. Three hours passed in an instant, the wait staff politely ushering us out. My last visit on the other hand, was supremely different. This time, a group of four, waited on by a robot waitress with no personality, squished into a corner booth away from the bar and entertainment. Drinks remain the same. . . had Chicken Tenders, never again. They were beyond dry, barbecue sauce side (which took two tries to get) was far too spicy. Many items on the menu appeared to be far overpriced for what the group received. Found myself pushing for the meal to be over so as to make our way to the high topped bar stools for a more breathable atmosphere. On the plus side, both visits landed on Thursday nights, where, in the lounge, an Eric Simon plays acoustic guitar and sings a wide range of vocals spanning country, rock, pop, and oldies genres. My recommendation: if you need a relaxed night out for some drinks and entertainment with a group of friends, here is the place to be.

We were in town for the night from Florida. Went here on the suggestion of the hotel staff at the Holiday Inn down the street. Parking lot was packed on a rainy night. Service was prompt and courteous. All 3 of us enjoyed a nice bowl of clam chowder. It was pretty good. Wouldn't say it was the best I've had but had a good amount of clams and taste to satisfy. My husband ordered the scallops platter and absolutely loved it. Tender and sweet scallops. I had the fried haddock. The breading was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. However, it was a little bland tasting but the tarter sauce helped with that. My son ordered the prime angus bacon cheeseburger and thought it was the best burger he's ever had. Mind you, he's only 18 but it did look good. Pics posted of our dishes. If we ever go back up in the area, we will be back. Yum.

Nice place with a band. Not a lot of people tonight, live music on. The food was good and food came fast. Nothing to say, really nice little place. I would recommend it if you like burger and private table.

So the dinner was delicious the portions were good my only complaint is that a. The waiter was covering half the room but not by sections, b. There seemed to only be 2 waiters working in a full restaurant. And c. There weren't any vegetable options to go along with your dinner.

If you're local, a steak lover and hail from a large family, then you're already acquainted with the Fireside Grille. If you fit into these categories and are not, then you really should be. But if you're seeking a more intimate dinner, this is not the restaurant for you. The rooms are generally large and open. The sound carries far too well. The décor ought to fast forward about three decades, yet a certain quaintness abounds which hearkens back to a simpler time. Sunday brunch is a bargain and a must do for the more gluttonous types. The lot is large and the location is handy. As many of the patrons who fancy the brunch special should immediately resign their licenses, watch carefully as you traverse the parking areas on Sunday afternoons. There are few more dangerous creatures on Earth than the ancient, stuffed to the gills and on-the Road-Way-Past-Nappy-Time-Cause-I-Can grandparent. So grab Little Jonny's hand when you see gray tufts of hair peeking up over an Oldsmobile's steering wheel as it barrels the wrong way across the parking lot with one blinker flashing slowly in the wrong direction. Consider yourself forewarned. It's true that the restaurant is a time warp to the 80s. But it's also true that their prime rib is large, succulent and always delicious the next day. The latter factoid was reinforced for me this past Friday, as I attended a family gathering in the larger function room. The place was fairly busy and for a party of thirteen on a weekend night, I grudgingly commend the service we received. Brusque and unfeeling, but speedy enough. The Fireside Grille offers 36 oz. drafts, so order one to compliment their 24 oz. prime rib. Later, you'll hate me for telling you so - and yourself for listening - but you'll spend about a half hour in food heaven before the diner's remorse sets in. But seriously, it is mouthwateringly phenomenal. It comes with freshly baked bread and a few sides - as if you'd need them - and it had a moderate amount of fat content. But hey, it's prime rib. As for the others in my party, I heard various comments regarding the tastiness of a given plate and the outright condemnation of others (apparently, the chicken piccata really really sucks). Did I care? Uh-uh. Most of their observations were drowned out by the blissful inner quietude and contentedness elicited by the exceptional quality, flavor and consistency of my meal.

Barrett's Fireside Grille: Had a mint julep in honor of the Kentucky Derby on many of the TV's in the cozy, dark, dining lounge. First sip tasted very watered down so asked waitress for more bourbon or different drink. She came back with a fresh julep in a new glass that was perfect and delicious. My husband requested plain, naked fish which was accommodated. However, it was a bit dry for him being baked instead of broiled. I chose the queen size prime rib with popover. I made the right choice! Perfectly cooked (medium) with sides of aus jus and a creamy horseradish sauce. Instead of potatoes or rice side dishes, I opted for Cole slaw and the mixed vegetables. Both very tasty. A mediocre slice of cheesecake topped us off. Prices are high, especially for beef but the quality is good and the service impeccable.

Great Sunday buffet. Plenty of food and desserts to choose from. Price was very reasonable. Even the kids loved it. Can't wait to go back.

They are really good when they cook you're steak right. Kinda pricey though even on their appetizers.

Food is HOT n' FRESH AF. Everything is cooked to order and prices are wicked reasonable and there are specials to be had each day. The staff is VERY efficient and friendly as hell. Menu selection is diverse and best of all has no tree-hugger "healthy option" gluten-free vegan crap. This is serious food for level-three hangry eaters who welcome thunder thighs and kankles. The vibe is great and the wooden construction attenuates sound wicked good and makes it acoustically sensible. My One and I have been going here for quite some time. We have never had anything a SNAFU. Drinks are great and Devin was our waitress last night and she is absolutely wonderful. Be confident that the owners and staff clearly take pride in this establishment and always aim to please in all ways. The drink menu is fun and extensive with variants on margs and 'teenys, etc. All food and drinks are scrump AF. They also give you gigantor hot n' wet handcloth towels after the sowdown as the coup de gras. It's like being on JetBlue :) Peep it out! And yes, they have KEEN-O and scratch tix.
