The view is spectacular, even on an overcast day. It is relaxing to sit in the sand and just soak up the sun. With Beach Ten being probably the nicest beach, it does get a lot of use out of it as well. There is enough space to stretch out, but do be mindful of the other people that may be there. Pros: Ample parking Picnic tables for use Lifeguard on duty most times Shower/changing amenities Cons: None There is a concession stand area if you find you want a snack while you are here. But you have to be mindful. The concession stand is not always open. There are eleven beaches I believe and each beach has this area available. They do kind of a rolling rotation of which stand(s) are open on what day. If the concession stand is not open a note will be posted to inform you what stand is open if you feel the need to get a snack. This area also offers vending options as well as a telephone to call for emergencies. A place to rinse off your feet after being in the sand. The restrooms are located here as well.

Conneaut itself is kind of strange with the creepy abandoned looking amusement park, and the super haunted Conneaut hotel. We drove right through the amusement park and hotel until we reached a parking lot right on the lake. I think this is a public beach area right next to the tiki bar. I was impressed by how clean it was, and how beautiful the nearby lake houses were. The tiki bar was busy in the middle of the hot summer day. We walked right onto the dock for their boat! It was super easy and convenient. The lake itself is clean and pretty! We took the boat out to the sandbar at the flagpole in the middle of the water. It was only a few feet of water in some areas and kids and dogs could stand. The water felt amazing - 76 degrees! The bottom of the lake at this point is very sharp, so we had to wear water shoes. The lake is really beautiful and this is a great day trip from Pittsburgh.

Besides a very clean pond filled with beautiful water fowl , there is also a small Japanese garden at the top of a steep hill that overlooks the pond. I don't know about you, but swans are a very rare occurrence in my sheltered world so being able to see two up close was awesome! There is a large shelter house in the very back of the park that provides a clean, uncluttered view of Lake Erie. Right now there are Christmas decorations if you're into viewing holiday lights. This is easily one of the cleanest parks I've ever visited. Although it is NOT DOG FRIENDLY, I would encourage you to bring the rest of the family.

There are some full hookup sites too. There is a nice nature center, amphitheater for movies, and they have lessons regularly such as kayaking, paddle boarding, and archery. One thing they could do a bit better with this festival is communicating when events are changed/postponed/cancelled. Its not very crowded and there are tons of things to do around the area after the beach. Lets start with cons: -Beach is rocky towards the water, sand is nicer the further back you sit. If youre looking for Fairport Harbor raked beach sand, this is not for you. -Water is rocky for about 20' or so out, then turns into sand. -Foot wash was not working, however it has worked in the past. -No showers, but do offer a changing area. -No breakwall, so occasional driftwood shows up, this could be a good thing or bad thing depending how you view it The Pros -Never crowded like the other beaches around -Water is cleaner than other beaches around -Bike and walkable, and a grassy area up top for family parties -Sand walkway to help the Dads wheeling a wagon full of kid toys, chairs, umbrelllas, while the wife holds her stanley cup in one hand and her beach tote in the other. -5min from GOTL -Everyone seems to follow the rules, never an issue there. Great spot with tons of stuff to do around the area. Its like a mini vacation!

Great location! To…read morestart off this is a very tight campground that can be a bit confusing to navigate. Luckily they have golf carts that wait for your arrival and show you to your spot. The staff at check in was great. She showed us our spot and gave us a packet of information with a map of the campground, state park, and other things to do in the area. The space was clean and concrete and rocks so you don't have to worry about mud. You are very close to the other campers but everyone was nice and quiet in the evening. We did not take a shower but did use the bathrooms at the shower house and they were clean and have a code entry. We drove over to the other part of the campground on the lake and walked to beach. It felt like two separate campgrounds. So it was confusing to know where the campground events were taking place. I asked someone in the camp store and was told by the playground maybe. We walked around a little bit didn't find it. The location is key. It is right at the entrance to the state park, with a beach across the street, close to the multi purpose trail and restaurants.

it was okay at first but then they kept asking us to move our car every time my…read morehusband pulled up to unload something and we were not there longer than 5 mins.. we were told not to be loud after 11 and people were loud and shining flash lights in our tent after 11. you can't watch your phone without headphones... it's a rule. watch for the rocks they cut your tent the beach is not cleaned there was blood all over the boys bathroom and no one cleaned it and yes people were told that work there about it. you pay for showers which is fine but god forbid someone flush the toilet then you get burned and it's a stall bathroom with 4 showers And toilets. The people are so close to you because the sites are so small that you can feel them breathe. When we we're just waking up there was someone standing right by our tent because they were already renting out the site to the next people before 10am check out was at 1 we started packing at about 11am so we pulled the car back up (oh yeah you can't park by your tent or even remotely close) one of the ladies who work there came by on her gold cart stopped looked at our car then stopped again as if she was going to say something to us about being parked there AGAIN and it was to pack up. Ewe. We were folding the tent and the people who were taking our site next pulled right up behind us to start setting up yet check in wasn't till 3... check out was 1PM. This was a very disrespectful and inconsiderate camp site. It's never been this way before this was our 3rd and last time coming here. This was an every year thing and never again will we be back.
